Oh waittt I forgot to write a reviewwwww when i went here the beginning of March this month. It was a couple turning blocks to find a parking spot, pretty residential area and the vibe inside the restaurant felt local too. There's live music but its just karaoke customers haha, its chill. The staffs was caring but they don't really cater to you or menu assistance. Non alc beverages arent on the menu but the mango juice was very fresh and yummy not thick, I got the inca kola its peruvian food classic in my mind. Green sauce was delicious as expected, theres also a garlicky vinegary tangy sauce its gud too, tostones was crispy yummy but the chicken was a tad bit dry. I love how the sauces came in a bottle I was having the time.of.my.life. eating tostones with the green sauce, legit so happyyy. They have sangria but no chicha morada, bummer. Tu Casa is a family-friendly restaurant that provides fabulous Peruvian dishes and strong drinks. I love how spacious the environment is and how everyone on staff treats you like family. They truly are the best. Although I should have ordered a sangria, I actually got a passionfruit mojito. It was delicious and strong. Lol. My daughter got apple juice. I got the chicken empanadas as an app to have with my drink and it didn't disappoint. It was packed with chicken, the outside was nice and crispy, and it hit the spot. My daughter got the chicken tenders and fries which she tore up!! I ordered lots of entrees lol... the Tu Casa Pollo combo, entrana saltada, and pargo rojo. I don't regret any of it. The Tu Casa Pollo was seasoned very nicely and juicy. A true Peruvian roast chicken! Just super yummy. Don't forget to eat this with their homemade green sauce!! The steak in the entrana saltada was so juicy and tender. I loved dipping each one into the chimichurri sauce. It came with a lot of onions and peppers which I do not really consume like that but I'm not mad about it. Lol. The pargo rojo was absolute perfection... crispy skin and juicy meat. It was soooo good to eat with the onion and tomato salad on the side. Reminded me of eating fish the Filipino way!! I didn't finish all of this and ended up taking it home. :) Then, for dessert, I simply got flan. And it was the perfect dish to cap off my meal with. Shout-out to Jenay for taking care of us at my table!!! She was a GEM and took care of all my needs on Mother's Day!!! I truly love Tu Casa for its food but also service. On a Peruvian good kick which brought me and a friend to Tu Casa. They have been on my radar for quite some time and I'm so happy I got to finally go here. This place is very deceiving with a lot more tables to dine in then you realize. Not only was the sangria on point but the food was so tasty. We got the Skirt Steak and Pollo Al Ajillo with a side of tostones. Yum yum yum. The sauces that came with the dishes, especially their green sauce, was so very good! Food was amazing! I got the special with steak, shrimp, cactus and fried plantains - so good! The cactus (don't remember if I ever tried b4 don't think so but my memory isn't what it used to be bc I am a pretty adventurous eater) was tangy and very good! Everything else I have tried elsewhere and their was all delicious! Their service impeccable! They were very attentive and nice too. Asked for a group pics and first time I ever saw someone take our group photo from different angles which was great bc of his maneuvering he was able to capture all our group's faves clearly and everyone's eyes were open and out of all he took he was able to get one really good picture of the 5 of us! Ambiance was beautiful. Nicely decorated on the inside but saw their sidewalk enclosed outside and that looked nice but was colder the night we went so decided to sit inside. Because of great food, service and ambiance even though tip was factored in check already and you had a choice of cash payment which is less than if anyone/someone/all paid in credit we gave cash so bill was a bit cheaper but we pretty much threw in even more cash because ever was amazing! They didn't have their liquor license yet but one from group brought white wine and they were very nice filling and refilling our glasses as well as not making us pay extra (I believe) for allowing us to bring, corking and service. One of the best restaurants where we were all left very happy and pleased with dinner and definitely wanting to return soon maybe for our group holiday dinner! read more

Literally one of my favorite restaurants in the world. First started going here in 2005 when we moved to the area, and now anytime I am back in the area from Massachusetts I make a point of coming here for the amazing food and atmosphere. The pernil is fall off your fork soft, the maduros are the softest and sweetest I have ever had, and the salsa verde they serve with the food is so good I buy 2 quarts to bring home every time I pass by. My family of five loves the food; my younger daughter got the ceviche mixto, which was fantastic with fresh seafood and just the right amount of lime juice. My son got the bistec tu casa, which was a gigantic portion. My wife got the pollo empanisada (breaded chicken cutlet) which was perfectly cooked. My oldest daughter got the garlic chicken which came with a very flavorful sauce. Absolutely love this place. I've been eating here for 18 years and it has never disappointed. I have been a fan of Tu Casa restaurant since I lived in the neighborhood back in 2012. Every time I visit New York and stop in Queens, I always make it a point to drop in for some of my favorite dishes. During this visit, I ordered the half roasted chicken with rice and beans, as well as another order with morro rice. I also tried the fried pork chop with fries, which I found to be a bit pricey at $15. My friend opted for the Lomo Saltado, but it came with an abundance of rice and meat with veggies, priced at a whopping $20, which was surprising. Of course, I couldn't leave without indulging in the beef empanadas and green sauce. The food was good as usual, but I must admit that the portions to price ratio didn't quite add up. If you have room in your budget, I recommend stopping by Tu Casa to experience their flavorful dishes. Your tastebuds won't be disappointed, but just be mindful of the inflation pricing. Asides: parking is limited as there are no lots. You can circle around for street parking paid and free if available. Dining area is dimly lit so those of you who are visually impaired ask about menu items. Service is always kinda of meh depending on who is answering the phone or taking your order. read more

But this time after about a year went back to pick up some food and it was so upsetting, and so disappointing. I've never stepped foot into the restaurant but I've ordered multiple times from here. This was my backup restaurant when El Castillo De Pollo didn't pick up their phone. My go-to items consist of Chicharrones De Pollo, Pollo Tu Casa, Tu Casa Combo, Pollo Guisado, Tostones, Maduros, Yuca Frita, Frijoles, Papas Fritas, Yellow Arroz, Arroz Moro, Yuca Hervida, Agucate, Chicken Empanada, and Tu Casa Green Sauce. The first time I tried the food here I wasn't a fan because I was comparing it to my favorite dish Chicharrones De Pollo from El Castillo Del Pollo. Although I'm not a fan of the black beans or the chicken empanada I'm so happy I gave this place another chance. Everything else that I've ordered has been delicious and made with love. They include a few small to-go containers of the Tu Casa Green Sauce with each meal so be sure to use it. It's delicious, slightly spicy and goes great on the rice, the chicken, and Yuca Frita. The food was good, nothing to write home about but still good. The rice and beans were a bit watery. The half chicken and tostones were average. The service was okay. Our server was very nice, but it seemed like she forgot about us after awhile lol, so I had to go up to her to get the check and pay for it. The ambiance was also okay. I think they're in the midst of changing their decor - their tables are a little outdated compared to their neon signs and painted walls, but all in all it's fine. I got the chicken cutlet with rice and beans. My husband got the pork with Moro rice. We have been coming to Tu Casa restaurant in Kew Gardens since 2005 not long after they opened. At the time we lived a few blocks away and it was just my husband, and I. But not long afterwards we had our first child and then in 2007 we moved out to Long Island but we still kept coming back to Our place - Tu Casa restaurant. Market and job changes years later we moved out to Massachusetts in 2018 every time we are passing through New York. We make a stop here it is that good and it is at worth it. Our three kids are now teenagers and they also love the food as much as we do tonight for dinner. I ordered the pollo empanizada and subbed the fries for beans. One of my daughters ordered the chicken and garlic sauce, and the other one ordered the ceviche mixto. The most important thing that I need to talk about and express my happiness for... is their one and only "specialty green sauce"!!! I love sauces!! They enhance all my food experiences. Tu Casa makes the most amazing mouth watering green sauce that is a must try!! It is their own secret recipe but if you fall in love with it the way that I do, you can actually purchase your own to go container to take home and relive your Tu Casa experience at home. So, now that we got our saucy business out the way let's talk about their food. You will absolutely love anything you order off their menu. Each dish is extremely flavorful. My ultimate favorite dish that I tend to order over and over is the "Camarones Saltado"- which is a sautéed shrimp dish with veggies over rice and I always add the fries, because I'm just a fatty. Make sure you order the sangria that also makes dinner more satisfying. And then of course when you are done stuffing your face and you have no room left, then order the dessert. That's what we did! Lol. And no regrets. I would highly recommend the "Tres Leches". Over all the mood is always pleasant there. Great service. Nice music. Let me start off by saying over priced, unorganized and outdated. The owner is also owns the restaurant next door Hangars. Same crappy service and food (Smh). We waited over a hour for our food and reminded the waitress 4x and still nothing. When we finally asked her did she forget she said yes. She had on what must of been a toddlers shirt that exposed ALL of her cleavage. Totally inappropriate and unprofessional. There was a solo live musician and after he went off they allowed a group of intoxicated adult to get on the microphone yelling and singing off beat. It was horrible! Two hours and a migraine later I was glad to finally be out if there. The food took so long we had to cancel it. The sangria tasted like watered down cranberry juice mixed w cheap wine. Yuck. Second time we come to this terrific Peruvian restaurant on Metropolitan Ave. The food is very authentic. We had various appetizers including "Papas a la Huancaína" and "Salchipapas." Both were spot on. For entrées, we had "Arroz Chaufa" and "Pollo al Ajillo". Both were quite tasty. The white sangria was terrific. A special shout-out to our server, CLAUDIA. She made it a very fun experience, was extremely friendly and courteous, and with a contagious sense of humor. If she's there, we'll definitely return! read more

10/25/24 - I been ordering from this location since they opened for business. It has gotten so bad. I just order a chicken soup and what I received was cilantro and onion soup with two pieces of chicken and about 1/2 of oil on top. It smelled and looked horrible.
