The old sentiment is that everyone hates going to the dentist, right? Well, I'm here to report that Dr. Mitchell and his team break apart this stigma like a freshly drilled cavity. The office is incredibly modern and the front desk staff is super friendly. The waiting room is spacious and comfortable. A great place to kick back for a few minutes anxiously awaiting copious metal objects being inserted into your mouth. Each time I've walked into an appointment, I've been called back to the office by a hygienist before I even had the chance to sit down in one of their comfy waiting room sofas. All the hygienists are SUPER friendly and do a great job at making you comfortable while they do your cleaning. There are TVs directly above each of the chairs, so you can watch whatever Roku programming that your heart desires as your teeth are worked on. After the hygienists get your teeth clean, Dr. Mitchell pops in to work his magic. In my experience, most dentists will nag you for not flossing for a solid 10 minutes and leave you feeling like your teeth are rotting out of your head if you didn't floss 365 days last year... but not Dr. Mitchell! In all honesty, Dr. Mitchell actually INSPIRED me to start flossing at my appointment last year - not through fear tactics, but by explaining the impact that flossing can have on your teeth over long periods of time. He showed me how to floss correctly, and was candid about how it'll suck for the first few weeks until your gums get acquainted. Turns out that education works a lot better than scolding, because sure enough, when I came back for my annual checkup, I got props from both the hygienist and Dr. Mitchell about how great I was doing. Talk about words of affirmation! Their office also does a lot for their patients from a 'bedside manner' perspective. They offer TONS of incentives for referring new patients (this month they're raffling off a new electric scooter to a lucky winner). After my first visit, they sent me a Harkins Movie Theater gift card just as a 'thank you' for being a patient. Never have I seen anything like that in my life from a customer service standpoint, let alone from a dentist! My wife also goes to Dr. Mitchell right around her birthday every year for her annual checkup/cleaning... and every year they give her a box of Crumbl cookies as a birthday present as she's leaving the office. Somewhat ironic that a dentist gives you sugar filled treats after your teeth cleaning? Yes. Awesome that they go out of their way to do that? Yes! They also offer Invisalign and other services, which I've expressed interest in at previous appointments. They're not remotely pushy about it whatsoever; rather, just educational about whether it would make sense and what the process would look like. While I haven't pulled the trigger yet, when the time comes, I'll definitely be using Dr. Mitchell for my Invisalign. The only negative (if you can call it that) is that when you subscribe to their text messaging reminders, you get bombarded with text messages to confirm and remind you about your appointment. While it's slightly annoying, I realize that I probably need the constant reminders anyway... so I can't even really harp on it. Overall, I can't recommend Dr. Mitchell and his staff highly enough for all your dental needs! read more

I am not sure how this dentist has so many high reviews. If I could guess, it could be the incentives that are offered for posting a positive review. First time in the office, I was impressed by the front area. It's an older looking building but they did a nice job making the front look good. But that is where any updates ended. The bathroom was gross - grime on the sink and toilet. Again, I understand if it's an older building but if you can make the front look nice, you should update the bathroom. The rooms for patients were so small that the hygienist was practically leaning right over the top of me the whole time (as opposed to being comfortably off to the side). It was very awkward and uncomfortable. The hygienist did not do a good job as the current dentist I'm seeing asked if I've received a cleaning in the last two years. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. Additionally , Dr Mitchell saw me a maximum of 2 minutes. My kids also had appointments and my 11 year old son had a dark spot on an adult tooth in the back. I could see it clear as day. When I asked about it, they said it wasn't a cavity. Took him to a new dentist 6 months later and it's a cavity and has been this whole time because decay has spread to the next tooth. Excellent care with a pleasant and efficient staff from the front desk, to the hygienists, and Dr. Mitchell's dental care. I've been going to Dr. Mitchell for more than 15 years, beginning when I needed to have an old 3-tooth bridge replaced. He took the time and care to match the color, and he also has responds quickly in emergency situations. His hygienists are very skilled and provide a relaxing atmosphere during prophylactic procedures. I highly recommend this practice. read more

Wow!! Okay, where to begin? I have been going to Dr Mitchell's office for over two years now. Excellent care, excellent service. Pros: The staff are consistent, kind, genuine, sympathetic, and there has been little to no turnover. Same staff members as when I started going. Dr Mitchell has excellent beside manor, he has a gentle technique. He doesn't push the lip onto the teeth while working, as many dentists have done. He is flexible with the schedule and the staff work to get the right day and time for my schedule. They have great referral bonuses and even gave me a bonus when my husband started going! Came here after a recommendation from a dental hygienist friend in the industry. She didn't know dr Mitchell but had heard about his great practice and skills. I had been told by another chain dentistry that I would need two crowns and two fillings. Dr Mitchell is a bit more on the conservative side as well as not unnecessarily drilling into your teeth for money side. He recommended only one small filling and said everything else looked fine. This is unlike any dentist office you've ever been to. I'm absolutely terrified of the dentist and really have been putting off going for a while. I knew I had to make a trip eventually because one of my fillings had fallen out but I have had such bad experiences in the past that I really was dreading going. Luckily, a friend of mine recommended I go to Mitchell Dental! I admittedly held on to their contact info for months before making the appointment but I'm so glad I finally got the courage to stop in. This visit was a breeze! Literally, from the time I walked in the experience was radically different than any other dentist office I have been to. Immediately I noticed that it smelled great, the music was awesome and the furniture was super modern and comfy - not like a typical waiting room. They even had a beverage station with coffees, tea, Gatorade and bottled water. The staff was upbeat, super friendly and genuine. They gave me a tour of the office and a brief history of the dentist himself. They even offered a welcome note with a cute gift wrapped in a bag as soon as I sat down. Here's the best part: they give you a menu of comfort items you can choose from! How considerate, right? These items included: Chapstick Water Light blocking glasses Sound blocking headphones Tv w/ Netflix, Hulu etc.. WiFi Blankets Pillows And Nitrous for nervous Nellys like me (I'm sure there is more that I forgot) Anywho, my dental procedure ended up being a lot more involved than I expected - which is my bad since I waited so long. I ended up needing a crown but they were able to make room for me in their schedule same day and made the crown on the spot. Really, who raves about their dentist? This gal, now! Mitchell Dental is amazing! I went in for my first time and they had a little welcome letter for me, and a cute little pink flask as pictured. The doctor is a very nice man, he offered to help me out in ways other dentists wouldn't before, like removing my Invisalign brackets for free. I'm so grateful to him and their staff. The front desk staff is really sweet too. You can even text them to change around appointments when it's more convenient, like when I'm working. I love this company! Unfortunately my mandatory training schedule with work prevents me from doing some work with them, and I was forced to find a weekend dentist. My first experience here was great. Everyone was friendly. I got a cute little welcome bag. That's why this doesn't get a one star. My hygienist pulled my Xrays and told me I wouldn't need a filling, but I should watch the area. Dr. Mitchell came in and told me I needed four fillings. Fine. I had a cleaning six months later (I don't know her name - she looked 23 or 24, bleach blonde hair, enormous fake eyelashes). I told her that I couldn't have the ultrasonic Cavitron used on my teeth because the high frequency made me involuntarily vomit. She got ANGRY with me and argued, telling me she wanted to use it. I told her no, she had to use the normal scraping tool. She proceeded to STAB MY GUMS. I'm not talking baby pokes that make you bleed because you don't floss - no - I had two cuts in my mouth NOWHERE NEAR my gumline from her using the tool. It was clear she had wanted to use the Cavitron because she had no idea how to use the old school scraper. She then proceeded to tell me I had gum disease because of how much blood there was, even though my gums hadn't bled when she flossed.. Fast-forward - I clearly never went back there. I just got back from my new dentist, where he showed me Xrays of the fillings Dr. Mitchell had given me, and turns out I have to get my fillings completely redone because none of them were sealed correctly. On top of that, they hadn't been smoothed out, so every time I had flossed, the floss would tear. Now I know why. Thanks for the terrible experiences. And thank you to CJ Dentistry for not allowing an incompetent hygienist to stab my gums, and for not getting mad at me for being unable to use the Cavitron. read more

After a horror story experience at an other practice I was timid for my first visit. Dr. Mitchell is great. He is extremely transparent and conservative with his practices. Two years ago, after a last-minute cancellation with another dentist, I did a search on Yelp and scheduled a same-day appointment at Mitchell Dental. I've been returning ever since, even with both an address and an insurance change. The office is not your typical sterile, uncomfortable waiting room atmosphere; rather, it's like going to a more sophisticated friend's incredibly stylish living room! There's a cooler of water and other beverages, a solid magazine assortment, and comfy couches. The friendly, helpful staff ensure the check-in process is efficient and welcoming. There are TVs if you like to be distracted during your cleaning, but I usually prefer talking about Netflix shows and local restaurant faves with Jenny, my dental hygienist. Dr. Mitchell himself also demonstrates warmth and professionalism to his patients. You get sent home with a new toothbrush and travel-sized toothpaste (which has come in handy whenever I have visitors in town or am too lazy to get a new one at CVS). I found Dr. Mitchell's office in 2017 on Yelp when I was trying to find a dentist office close to work. I'm so happy I found him because he's like a Saint in my eyes, he has saved my teeth multiple times. I had a mountain biking accident a couple years ago where I chipped all my bottom teeth and scraped the top enamel from my top front teeth. Dr. Mitchell bonded the bottom teeth with a composite filling and did the same to the top to make my teeth look normal and pretty again. Fast forward to 2019, yesterday to be exact, I had to go in when my crown on my lateral incisor fell off. I've had this crown since 2006 so maybe it was time for a new one but I was pretty emotional about losing it. Dr. Mitchell's awesome front office got me in the same day and as soon as I walked in the office they had me go on back to start working on my tooth. I was at his office for a few hours as he built a new crown for me, his assistant also made sure I was comfortable by giving me a blanket and turning on the TV. The office is contemporary, clean, and close to home. First time visit for my 20-year-old son and I. We both enjoyed the visit. I have extra bone in my mouth called "Tori" which makes dental x-rays painful. The hygienist knew a placement technique that reduced the pain! So impressed! Upon leaving they gave us each a gift bag complete with colorful tissue paper! It included a cool tumbler and the usual dentist gifts such as toothpaste, toothbrush and floss.
