My son was cut multiple times, which neither of my other sons ever experienced (both of them have since had their braces removed). We actually had to ask for a tech not to touch his mouth after she cut him on three different appointments. To her credit, she did call and apologize after the request was made, and she never did work on him again. One cut? Ok. Two? Hmmm - perhaps more training is needed. But three!? There should have been more supervision there. Overall, a highly negative experience. So negative that my son hasn't been to the office in over a year after getting his braces off, and I still have a bad taste in my mouth. I wondered if Dr Davis practice was "normal" since it has been a very long time since I had braces. I assure you, it is not. One of the staff members took panoramic X-rays and photos. I was really surprised when the Dr said that my bite was very good and that I didn't need treatment. I was amazed that this orthodontist would not recommend braces and treatment and turn down the money that they could collect. I called our orthodontist in Oklahoma to see if we could make an appointment for when we returned. Our orthodontist was going to be taking his vacation once we returned, so we would have to go see another orthodontist that would be covering while he is on vacation. His office staff suggested that we try to find a local orthodontist that might be able to see her while we are still in Decatur, so that she did not have to stay uncomfortable while on vacation. I called one office and it was going to be $150 to clip a wire. I called a second office and they were going to charge $360 to clip the wire. My best friend and her husband suggested that I call Decatur Orthodontics, so I did. Allyssa was my first interaction with the office. She was kind and super helpful. She was able to get us in right away. Our visit was less than 5 minutes once we arrived. The office staff was helpful, kind, and extremely efficient. The office was super clean and very organized. They were kind enough to take care of this for us as a complimentary service. If we lived in Decatur, this is where we would go!
