Don't be fooled by the "Dry" in Chem-Dry. Our carpet was wet wet wet after being cleaned by Mitchell's Chem-Dry process and portions of the carpet were still wet 10 hours later. When I made the appointment, I was told it takes about 2-3 hours for the carpet to dry. Do not believe this. The good: We had prepared the house very well, moved tables, chairs, chests, etc to the garage so no time was wasted having to move things while the job was being done. Mitchell showed up on time, the carpet was cleaned and most spots removed. Mitchell is a nice guy, professional, and did not try to jack up the price he quoted on the phone. When the job was done, the carpet looked good. As he left, Mitchell told us that he had had to use more water than usual so the carpet would take 3-4 hours to dry rather than 2-3. Ok, we can live with that. The bad: Minus one star because when we checked the carpet, HOLY C@$P, many areas were extremely wet, so much so that we immediately started three fans going (all windows were already open), and put big towels on the carpet, walked on them to absorb water, tossed them in the dryer to dry, then repeated all of the above many, many times. Minus another star because I called Mitchell and asked him to come back and suck more water out of the carpet so it would dry before we went to bed that night. He said NO. He said he had already spent more time than normal at our home because there was so much dirt in the carpet and told me he had had to use more water than usual because of the dirt. Ok, I get that, but please be honest with me before you leave our home that the amount of water used was aLOT and will require much more than an additional hour to dry. Minus a third star because we worked HARD for five hours after Mitchell left. I lost track of the times we moved the fans, pointed the air flow up, down, etc and moved towels from area to area to absorb water. We shouldn't have had to do that. After five hours we were able to put everything back in one of the bedrooms where we had focused most of the fans and towel action. We continued with fans and towels through dinner and beyond. Seven hours after Mitchell left, we put more stuff in place. The other areas we had to leave over-night before returning things in place. Edited to add: Minus a fourth star because weeks later we saw water stains on the bottom of our walls where water had leached from the too-wet carpet into the wallpaper. Worse: months later we found serious water damage to the bottom of a treasured decorative chest - the bottom had literally rotted. Getting back to the good: I believe Mitchell is a good guy, knows how to clean a carpet, and honors his quotes. However, he needs to be more forthcoming about what the customer will need to do after he finishes his job. read more

Mitchell is a class act, prompt, well spoken and a man of his word. I have used his services three times now to clean a third floor condo. My condo is a rental and the carpet isn't treated very well by tenants. He also has great advice on carpet installation, and how to clean stubborn stains when he's not available. Communications: Mitchell was able to set up the carpet clean, and was always communicating on what to expect, what I needed to do in preparation, and how long before I could use the room again. 2. Timeliness: He arrived on schedule, wore booties, and valued our home. He told me how long it would take, and was spot on. 3. Quality: My room was small, and he had this done so quickly, we used the rest of his available time to clean our kitchen floor grout. Considering the carpet had some issues, and the kitchen floor had not been touched in a while, I was impressed that they all came back as new. Second time using this particular Chem-Dry company. The individual who came to our home to clean our carpets was very nice, professional, and did a good job. I asked to buy two cans of spot remover. Didn't have any with him and called the owner. The owner said he would order two cans and drop to my office in a week. After two weeks and a no-show, I called again. Owner said he would come in another week. Two weeks later (total 4 weeks) I called again, left message. After no reply I called again a couple days later. As before, said he would get the spot remover and drop to my office. Well, it's been a total of 5 weeks and no spot remover as repeatedly promised. Today, I ordered the spot remover through Amazon. I had a client with a very upset kitty, she had diarrhea and urine on one wool rug that I thought would certainly carry a smell even after cleaning, but Mitchel, the ChemDry guy came out within 24 hours of calling and sterilized the carped, and cleaned it from most of its imbedded dag hair. I've been having Goro and his crew come to my Condo every year for the last 2 years and have been able to maintain that new carpet look to my condo. He comes in explains the process throughout and let's you know which stains may be troublesome. The results of his work are immaculate. I was so happy with the work that he did on my condo and had even comments from my other family members that they wanted him to come do their places too. I recently had him clean the carpets and floor-mats of my Lexus. He was able to get some coffee stains off the floor of the car. Unfortunately he only does upholstery and my seats are leather. I've tried so many carpet cleaners in the past, and Mitchell is now the one that I will always call. Mitchell and his co-workers put in extra effort to get my light-colored carpets looking great. Their prices are very fair, and I appreciate the fact that they come out between cleanings to take care of a one- or two-room job without over-charging. This company came to our home and in the process of cleaning upstairs bathroom and downstairs kitchen floors, they did damaged to new wood stairs by dragging the hose from the bathroom all the way down the stairs. They were called back within 24 hours whereby they came and inspected the damage and admitted responsibility. We had paid them immediately which was a big mistake because since this incident back in May 2013 they have ignored phone calls, emails and even certified mail. They have not made any attempt to repair the damage or made any offer of reimbursement towards the cost of repair. Initially Goro said he would just claim off his insurance but when we presented him with a quote he ignored us completely. We were willing to work with him to get the stairs repaired, for him to get his own quotes, do the repair himself..whatever.... to get the work done. I would never recommend this company to anyone in view of this shirked responsibility to set things right. read more
