Excellent time at Mitchell's. We went early...they have Happy Hour but that's only available in the bar...we wanted a nice booth...so sat in the dining room. Great cocktail menu and wine list. Didn't get apps...but there's a good selection They have a "Two for $29.00" offer. Choice of 3 or 4 different salads and a choice of maybe 8 entrees. Got a nice hot loaf of bread with soft butter, too. I had the Ahi Tuna Rice bowl...well done. Good dessert menu but we didn't have dessert.

It's a good location. Ambience is fine. Staff ok. I think there could be an improvement to the food choices. More original fish items. The neighbor down the street whose name starts with "K" is a great role model to follow.

Had dinner with my wife yesterday at Mitchell's. The service was attentive and good. Restaurant was not busy. The wedge salad was great. I had blackened salmon and my wife had seared Chilean sea bass. Both dishes were good. However, the spinach with the seas bass was a little under cooked. The mashed potatoes with the salmon were under seasoned. There were no salt or pepper shakers anywhere to be found. Also, "blackened" should mean some spice on the salmon. It was lacking and I would hardly call it "blackened". Still good though. Overall, nice dinner and good food that was under seasoned for my palette.

Tucked away in Rochestor in the strip mall plaza- this place is a seafood gem. Delicious food, strong but delightful cocktails, and the customer service has wonderful. Great for a date night, or a ladies day out. Highly recommend

I did tell the waitress I can't do spicy, so she had the kitchen not make it "blackened"--which is where the heat is--and it was fantastic! I'd order again in a heartbeat! My husband had the Jumbo Shrimp Jambalaya ($27.00), which is made with Andouille sausage, Chipotle Peppers, Onions, Tomatoes, and Rice. It was very good (and midwestern "spicy," not Cajun spicy!) The four of us split a brownie and it was divine! Only thing that took them down a star is that our waitress didn't really seem to listen. When I said I couldn't do spicy, she talked me out of the snapper, then when I asked if I could sub in the grits from the snapper, she said, "oh, order the snapper and I'll tell them not to make it 'blackened.' " Then when we were saying how the four of us wanted one dessert to split, and were trying to decide between two, she kept pushing us to order two separate desserts. We finally had to tell her, "no. We're all getting full, and just want a bite of something." I'm all about good salesmanship in waitstaff, but she was just pushy and didn't seem to listen to our questions.

Today when we went for my husband's birthday the coleslaw had diminished in size to practically nothing. You could have four forkfuls of their coleslaw. Their side vegetable is literally in a condiment container and is maybe a tablespoon or a few teaspoons of bean salad. Yeah, the portions just keep getting smaller and smaller and the prices keep getting higher and higher. For two fish dinners and two coleslaw's on the side with one iced tea. The dinner would've cost us $94 with tip had the one main entrée price Knapp been taken away for our club membership birthday dinner. Even discounting that it was way too much to pay for the amount of food we got. As usual, the surface was friendly and quick, and there's nothing bad to say about that at all. The food is still very good, but it just isn't worth the money you're paying for it. We frequent several other restaurants and none of them charge that kind of money for what you get there. Sadly, I don't plan on going back.

The atmosphere felt very casual--there was a huge bar in the middle with some booths and tables surrounding. There were TVs playing the Tigers game. For my drink, I ordered an espresso martini and really enjoyed it! My brother ordered an old fashioned and said it was good and very strong. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and liked it! They also brought out a bread loaf for the table and it was very warm and fresh! As for the entrees, we were honestly very disappointed. The food was genuinely some of the blandest food I've ever eaten. I ordered the filet mignon. It was good, but the minestrone it came with was missing something. I also would have liked the meal to come with mashed potatoes instead of 2 small halved potatoes. Additionally, the zip sauce was very liquid and not thick which I didn't love. My mom had the chicken Marsala. The dish had good flavor, but the texture of the chicken was poor. The gnocchi with meat sauce was a good portion size, but sadly bland as well. In the end, our card was ran on the wrong tab but the server noticed and corrected it so it wasn't a big deal. For what we paid, close to $270, including the service fee for using credit card, I honestly would've rather gone to Texas Roadhouse. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for fine dining in the area.

If you're looking for a traditional dimly lit chop house that might make you feel you're in a national park somewhere, not easily found, then this is the place for you. You might have to fight for the lobster bits. Keeps very well. Bourbon infused dry aged 14oz Ribeye Okay this is where the volume goes up - listen here... I first thought the plate had way too much oil drenching the steak but then I realized that's part of the local bourbon-infused magic that makes this steak "the best in the house" per our server. And when that first bite hit my palate, several thoughts crossed my mind: 1) mouth watering savoriness 2) medium rare supple texture 3) aged barrel vanilla and chocolate 4) subtle smoke Hands down, one of the best steaks I have ever consumed. The uniqueness of the wood flavors and aromas combined with the natural rib eye fattiness forces you to take a step back and think about what's in your mouth. I would make a special trip to come back for just this steak. Some of the other menu items are not anywhere as impressive. Although I didn't taste, the consensus at my table was that the summer berry salad was over dressed and too tart. Wine list average, at best. The bourbon steak is so good that by itself, it elevates this review about 1.5 stars. That's all....

They will only make the cheapest entree you buy be free even if it is not the entree that was ordered by the cardholder who is celebrating their birthday.
