Not only was she rude, but she told me she would charge me AS MUCH AS SHE WOULD for a real cake. You mean to tell me it would cost me $100 plus to decorate a piece of Styrofoam? And then, when I told her the shape of the Styrofoam, she flat out said no. As if the shape of the Styrofoam changes the action? And I'm not a baker, at least not a professional one, but something feels off about what feels like the refusal to help me. And it's not like I am looking for free service, I'm willing to pay, but I'm not willing to pay cake prices for icing on Styrofoam. Saying no, as a business is OK, I'm all for it. But customer service needs a serious rebranding. I have never had a good in person/over the phone experience. Their food speaks for itself, but the customer service skills really takes away the value of a local business that has been around for years. I hope whoever I spoke on the phone with has a better day

We were looking for a wedding cake vendor who would offered a wide variety of flavors, hopefully some unique ones, and who could execute our design vision. When we went in for our tasting and meeting with Kelly we pretty much knew there was no other option. All the flavors we tried were incredible. The cakes were so moist and delicious. We chose two flavors: Honey Bee Mine (lavender blossom cake w/ orange water, honey cream cheese, blueberry filling) and Chocolate Divine (Devil's Food cake w/ chocolate buttercream, raspberry preserves, dark chocolate truffle filling). I come from an Asian family and have a lot of Asian friends who prefer desserts that are "not too sweet" while my husband's family are chocoholics, ao this ended up striking the perfect balance for us. The chocolate flavor was delicious but the Honey Bee Mine is truly the best cake I have ever had and may ever have. I still get friends and family commenting occasionally how delicious the cake was. While the cake crumb was delicate and moist with a good distribution of filling, the cake itself held up very well despite the mulitple tiers. I've had some weddings cakes that are a bit too dense or dry in order to maintain structure, but this was not the case at all. On the design end, we went through a few different design ideas. Even after we had put in our deposit we eventually shifted to a different motif and Kelly was very flexible at accommodating our requested change. We decided her cake design was so beautiful we didn't need additional florals or a cake topper. Kelly was so thorough and detailed in explaining how different techniques (piped flowers, painted designs, sugar flowers, etc) worked and how they would affect pricing. Same with tier sizes, additional sheet cake, etc. She was so transparent with us and it helped us figure out what was the right option for us. On top of everything, Kelly was so professional to work with and really responsive. Some of the other vendors we met with offered delicious cakes as well, but weren't nearly as responsive. She gave good instructions for what kind of stand we should get. Delivery of the cake went very smoothly day-of. And we loved how she inserted our little cat figurine into the cake. GSG has a $200 minimum for cakes, because they primarily specialize in wedding and other event cakes. While we won't be able to pick up one of her cakes for a casual birthday dinner, my husband and I have already begun brainstorming excuses to order a cake from her again.

First of all, Mitra is the sweetest and most understanding artist I have worked with. I was referred to her by a friend who has had several cakes made by her and each time we're so surprised with the outcome and how brilliant the cake is! I recently graduated U.C. Berkeley in the Spring of 2018, and had requested a cake that represented my graduation. I studied Sociology and I am continuing my education by studying law. Mitra made time out of her busy schedule to talk with me about my story and to understand my background to make the perfect cake. As you can see in the pictures below she made a simple but very elegant cake! She made the Cal symbol to perfectly match my schools as well the graduation cap and its blue and gold tassel were made beautiful. I mentioned to her that I had been studying soo much to be able to take the bar exam so my head had been in many huge books lol and she knew exactly how to translate that into a cake for me. The lettering on the cake was crisp and flawless. Everything came together perfectly even the golden plate she placed the cake on I LOVED!!! But not only was this the most perfect looking graduation cake it was TASTED INCREDIBLE!!!
