Looks a little "hole in the wall" but the food is delicious. We ordered hibachi and it came with miso soup, fried rice, and salad. Also ordered a dragon roll and DELISH. Wow, I dont know where to begin with this newish sushi restaurant. They really seemed more of a startup than an established restaurant. Inside you will find an open kitchen, so that means the dining room is filled with whatever is being cooked in the kitchen at the moment. I visited during hh on a Friday night and they were dead. I tried ordering a few items off the menu, but they were out of the squid appetizer, lobster, hard liquors and sapporo reserve. I ordered the regular sapporo but it wasn't very cold; boy they were just having a bad day apparently!! I didn't bother ordering any kitchen items since the cook left while I was ordering to go do a delivery. Maybe they were short staffed, who knows. Taking advantage of the happy hour prices, I ended up ordering the rockin' napalm roll and one night stand roll. Rockin' napalm came out 1st and wasn't exactly a flavor explosion, but it wasn't bad. Next up was the 1 nite stand, and it was even more bland. As far as sashimi, I tried 4 different ones and I was surprised to see the red snapper sliced as thin as nigiri. My daughter loves sushi so I took her to lunch at Miyazaki to celebrate the last day of school. My daughter and I both had miso soup, which was very light and tasty. We then had the calamari as an appetizer and it was far and away the best I've had, very tender and served a delicious sweet & sour sauce. At this point we were both stoked to get our hands on the Shaggy Dog, Crazy Tuna and Green Devil (Eel) rolls we had order as our main course. Let me tell you friends, they did not disappoint. We both agreed that, while all of the rolls were fantastic, the eel roll was the best. In case you were wondering, the service was first rate as well. Speaking of soup and salad, you can choose one complimentary soup or salad if you'd like. My addiction comes from their pretty awesome Happy Hour selection and Lo Mein. They have some of the freshest and tastiest Vegetable Lo Mein I have ever tasted! Wanna bet!? (Insert-crazy eyes) Maybe they have spruced things up a bit since some of the latest reviews because all our items have been hot and freshly made. On Friday they have 'Ladies Night' which starts at 6pm to close, 50% off all cocktails and spirits. What a treat! My favorite cocktail is the Passiontini, super flavorful and enjoyably potent (wink-wink), it's a grown woman's drink (pinky up), just how I like it. You have to come with a dose of patience and you cannot be in a rush if you do decide to dine in simply because they have a small staff. The chefs and wait staff are friendly, personable and create a good local ambience. Although they are still fairly new to the scene, business is kicking up so this review could get dated at any moment. We went for the first time last night. The 3 of us was shocked by how there were just 3 tables were occupied....because the service were terrible not to mention the quality of food is very poor. Thankful I did not have stomach problem after leaving the place. Devils Roll we're mostly cream cheese and barely have any salmon sliced in them. The saying "you get what you pay for" is truly in this place. We could have gone to Kokomo since that spot have more cars than this place. Wow. I wasn't expecting any sort of world class experience. Just a sort of casual quick jaunt for sushi that was convenient to the Woodlands Mall before we picked up my fiancé's teenage daughter. I was completely gobsmacked by the attention feom our exceptional and knowledgeable server named Matthew (who actually happened to double as sous chef for the restaurant and is a former butcher, as well). While certainly casual and rather non-script for an interior and location, the food and service is what shines here. We had the garlic edamame, were treated to delicious vegetable egg rolls, and the Super Godzilla Roll. OMG. I am confident in saying that this was the best roll I've ever had and this was chosen after the recommendation of our delightful server. We will certainly be back. Sushi slices not cut thin enough and served on top of a piece of foil which I assumed it served to separate the Sashimi from the ice cubes. The staff is friendly and I was immediately brought water and as many refills as I wanted. Ben makes a killer Long Island iced tea. I ordered the mango tango roll but asked to have the crab removed since I'm allergic. I expected for the sushi chef to ignore my request since this usually happens, but everything came out perfect and fresh! It took me a long time of contemplating to post this review. Im still in utter shock of the absolutely terrible experience I had when I visited this sushi restaurant. First of all when we walked in, it was not your average place where a hostess seats you, so after waiting around a few minutes we figured out to seat ourselves. With another 15 min wait at our table to be asked what drinks we would like we ordered two waters. Took about another 10 minutes for the waters to come out, by that time we knew that we wanted to order a few appetizers, and some sashimi, before placing an order for a few rolls. When the waitress came back we placed the order *spicy garlic edamame *yellowtail jalapeño *2x red snapper *4x pepper tuna *2x unagi We waited about 30 min before any of the food actually came out , generally edamame doesn't take that long however it was one of the last items to come out. The first thing brought to the table was out red snapper and pepper tuna. I could tell as the dish was placed on our table that these cuts and texture looked very odd to me, the sushi almost looked foreign. The pepper tuna was in rectangular pieces just sitting on top of the sticky rice, with black pepper sprinkled on top. It was very bizarre to me. The red snapper was soooo tough I couldn't even chew it at all. I literally spit it out into my napkin. I have never had to spit out sushi in my life. Next came out the yellowtail jalapeño. ( I have to add that I questioned our waitress before ordering this item what to expect, she said it would be very thinly sliced yellowtail, with tiny pieces of jalapeño on top) what came out to our table was very oddly sliced yellowtail pieces that were actually very thick and fat, which was not complimented by the jalapeño at all. And the yellowtail did not taste that great either. Finally edamame came out next to last, was not very spicy at all and 100% over cooked. I was so disappointed at this point that we did not want to order anything else nor did we want to wait for the unagi to come out but our waitress would disappear for long moments so there was no time to tell her to stop the order. Another note about the unprofessional waitress, she kept on speaking to us as if we were friends of hers, when I unwrapped my chopsticks, I was about to put the paper wrapper on the table. She stopped me suddenly reaching across my plate, "please don't leave trash on the table it really bothers me" .... I did some research online to see why this restaraunt had such high rating, and it seems like we ordered the wrong items, most good reviews of this place have nothing to do with the raw fish or the service. So finally when she brought out the unagi we were able to stop her and express how we were not having a good experience and the food was not what we were expecting at all. In fact t was a very terrible experience... she proceeded to tell us that we don't need to tell her, that she is not going to be a middle man for the chef because she doesn't like being in the middle of "he say she say"... she quickly ran off and within a few min we had a very angered sushi chef at our table asking us what the problem was. We told him everything as I stated above^* This chef had the audacity to stay at our table for almost 20 min talking to us in a very loud voice arguing with us about how this is authentic Japanese sushi he argued with us about everything we had a complaint for. We did not want a discount or anything just simply wanted the chef to know that this wasn't top sushi, in fact it was a terrible experience. We were prepared to pay for our full meal and leave, however the chef did discount us for one plate the yellowtail. He continued to argue with us and tell me that we are wrong. I will tell you this much. We will NEVER be back to this place, and I will pass the word down to any friends / family. I have never seen a chef get upset or visually angry with at anyone for making a complaint this experience was beyond the worst I've ever had at any sushi restaurant.
