My husband and I love coming here. We always have the same waiter, and he is fast and friendly. Always greets us with a smile and never makes us feel rushed. They only have 1 ramen broth option on the menu, with the choice of different meats. But my God do they have that broth perfected. It's delicious and flavorful. When choosing your spice level, I recommend getting the chili sauce on the side if you're unsure, levels 1-4 if you are sensitive to spice, or levels 5-10 if you can handle spice. I consider this a good Japanese restaurant totally par. The portions were well sized the flavors on the hibachi. OK not as flavorful as you can find other places the chicken was a little bit dry rice for the fried rice could've tasted better. The sashimi was fresh and nice thick pieces. The tuna roll was good But that high quality flavor that you get at 5 start places wasn't there. I thought it was good being for buck Japanese American flavors. Would recommend if you're not very picky on your Japanese but for me it's a place that I probably wouldn't go back to just based on the number of great sushi restaurants around the greater Houston area. Maybe it's because I ordered take out and had it 30-45 minutes afterwards. I was thrown off by the boxed used for take out as in used to seeing sushi to go boxes - flat and clear lids. This was not environmentally friendly but anyways to move into the food. The rice to filling ratio was off. There should be less rice. The rice itself was overcooked with too much water resulting in a mushy taste. The eel sauce wasn't too die for per usual. The salmon was funky. I can't explain why. It had such an off taste. My sushi craving was not fulfilled. I guess this is another reason to fly back to Japan for another round of fish. With that being said, I understand it's hard to compare my frequent sushi adventures in Japan to a sushi shop in the US but I found some really good local not fancy sushi shops in all neighborhoods of nyc so it's doable. Unfortunately, I really do hate to write bad reviews because I am a big supporter of mom and pop shops but I finally decided to give sushi a shot in Texas and had a disappointing experience. Immediately walking in it smelled like some sort of incense which I personally enjoyed. We got seated & immediately ordered because we were starving. We started with the Crab Rangoons ( 2/10 ), The wonton wrap used wasn't the one that other restaurants usually use.. lighter in color and very greasy!! We got the Seafood Kobachi and chicken Katsu sandwich. The kobachi was 80% vegetables with barely any meat, and the vegetables were slightly undercooked. It was swimming in the flavorless broth. I fact, the entire thing was quite flavorless. The fish was also seem fried, so having it soak in broth wasn't a great combo The chicken katsu sandwich came with a very thin patty. My wife and I have enjoyed eating at this location in the past, so it was a natural pick for a takeout order to feed our family for her birthday party. I put in a large order ($400+) 24 hours in advance. I received my confirmation from Grub Hub. When I called the next day (one hour before the pickup time) to confirm the order would be ready at the appointed time, I was met with a recording saying the phone subscriber could not be located. I called the Champions Forest location to see if they could give me another number and/or see my order in the point of sale system. They informed me that the Woodlands location was permanently closed. I was able to get the order refunded through Grub Hub, but was left high and dry in the food department. The person I spoke to at the Champions Forest location was sufficiently apologetic, but wasn't able to help rectify the situation due to the timing and the drive time to their location. While we love the food at Miyazaki and would eat there again (if it was open), we are deeply disappointed that the owners/managers didn't update their Yelp listing OR turn off the ability to place online orders. read more

So, I'm not quite sure If this is a COVID situation or it's just badluck for me, but definitely confused as to how the stars are so high. I only came here because Fukuda, which is 20x better, was closed. Service - Waiter was confused at where to sit me. Sat me at a table were a pile of dirty menus and didn't take them when I ordered. Had to ask him to come back like 4 times for napkins, then dish for soy sauce and Wasabi. Was friendly but seemed flustered going back and forth to service only on 2 tables. I understand that they want to make "Japanese fusion" and made wasabi mayonnaise plus spice in the dipping sauce but it didn't work. we ordered Ribeye Steak and Katsu Curry Donburi. Steak didn't have any flavor (no seasoning) and bland even their restaurant claim for Sushi and Steak, their steak was not what we expected. Katsu Donburi, breaded chicken was very tough!! And curry tasted very odd even I know what Japanese curry taste like. And it was way salty! my wife could not eat. And sushi, they were not fresh at all and we were extremely disappointed. They have different dishes than the sushi places nearby, like a tuna tower, sashimi dish variations, ramen, hibachi, and some very interesting rolls. My wife had the tekko which was tuna sashimi rolled up and placed in a circle around a rose-shaped spiral of more tuna on a bed of cucumber and rice. That was fresh, but we skipped the rice. Albacore is supposed to be light pinkish clear and a soft delicate fish, but the albacore I experienced here was solid white and a hard square shape like a very firm rubbery texture. We're from the West Coast and this place has some of the freshest best tasting sushi we've ever tried and we eat at a lot of sushi spots. The prices are beyond fair.
