The food tasted fresh and sauces were on spot! Service was friendly and fast. Ambiance was quiet for a Sunday late lunch hour .

Maybe it's because I ordered take out and had it 30-45 minutes afterwards. I was thrown off by the boxed used for take out as in used to seeing sushi to go boxes - flat and clear lids. This was not environmentally friendly but anyways to move into the food. The rice to filling ratio was off. There should be less rice. The rice itself was overcooked with too much water resulting in a mushy taste. The eel sauce wasn't too die for per usual. The salmon was funky. I can't explain why. It had such an off taste. My sushi craving was not fulfilled. I guess this is another reason to fly back to Japan for another round of fish. With that being said, I understand it's hard to compare my frequent sushi adventures in Japan to a sushi shop in the US but I found some really good local not fancy sushi shops in all neighborhoods of nyc so it's doable. Unfortunately, I really do hate to write bad reviews because I am a big supporter of mom and pop shops but I finally decided to give sushi a shot in Texas and had a disappointing experience. Glad to know others had a better experience.

Well hello hidden gem! Meet your happy and satisfied customer! We just happened to be in the Woodlands area and found great reviews, so we decided to pop in! We were not disappointed. We ordered the yellowtail appetizer and holy moly were we surprised. It was pretty large pieces and oh so full of flavor! Next was the smoked salmon and I seriously could've sat there all evening and just ate that! Yum! Next up was the 2 rolls we ordered. Mine was the army roll and I ordered it on soy paper. They made the switch easily and it tasted just as fresh as could be. My husband ordered the napalm roll which sounds alarming but it was FANTASTIC! They brought us complimentary egg rolls and took fantastic care of us! Everyone here is all smiles so I know we will be back again very soon! If you haven't tried them, pop on in like we did! You won't be disappointed in flavor or portions!

Came in on a Tuesday at around 12:30. Restaurant is located in a shopping center with another restaurant & a dance studio next door. Immediately walking in it smelled like some sort of incense which I personally enjoyed. We got seated & immediately ordered because we were starving. We started with the Crab Rangoons ( 2/10 ), The wonton wrap used wasn't the one that other restaurants usually use.. lighter in color and very greasy!! Biting into the crab rangoons there's a very small amount of crab in it.. honestly disappointed in this appetizer. We received egg rolls as a complimentary appetizer & they were alright (6/10). The two rolls we got the shaggy & red devil were pretty good (8/10).

The fish tasted quite fresh and overall great quality. The reason for 3.5 stars was due to the service. Our waitress seemed a bit on edged and tried to fast forward everything.

Philly and shaggy dog were amazing. Delicious edamame as well.

Absolutely best sushi!!!! Everything is fresh and cooked after ordered. Always get comp spring rolls

This was our first time here and it was awesome. They were so friendly and attentive. Sushi was amazing and well priced. I've been on keto for nine months, so not able to eat the rolls. I believe the owner came to talk to us and created a roll with no rice. That was amazing. We are definitely coming back. I was very happy with our waiter. Super friendly, great service.

    Chirashi Don - it's a shame
    Maria M.

Very surprised with all the raving reviews and stars. The food is just bad. Not rotten or spoiled, but this is not at all even a decent sushi restaurant. Miso soup tasted off. Sashimi platter - four kinds of thickly sliced fish (Tuna, salmon, white fish and supposedly Yellowtail) over a bowl of ice! Not spoiled but not sushi quality by far. Chirashi Don - same kinds of fish but thinner sliced and sorta butchered. Rice is plain rice, not sushi rice. Naruto roll - awful. Miyazaki special roll - even worse. Seaweed salad tasted off and looked worse. Sake was alright. Service was okay, no complaints. We love sushi. This was not sushi. Save your money and your stomachs, eat someplace else. We couldn't eat that, paid $98+tip and left.

EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! One of the rolls came raw but the owner cooked it for us as a special request!

Sushi and ramen was delicious. The sushi was so good we forgot to take pictures. Great customer service and fast. We ordered the spicy crunchy roll, the crab meat hand roll and the shrimp tempura roll. Great place!

So, I'm not quite sure If this is a COVID situation or it's just badluck for me, but definitely confused as to how the stars are so high. I only came here because Fukuda, which is 20x better, was closed. Service - Waiter was confused at where to sit me. Sat me at a table were a pile of dirty menus and didn't take them when I ordered. Had to ask him to come back like 4 times for napkins, then dish for soy sauce and Wasabi. Was friendly but seemed flustered going back and forth to service only on 2 tables. To be fair he was on his own, so maybe that? Couldn't multitask clearing the table either, as someone that's worked in food service, I was disappointed. Food - I always get Chirashi. As seen by the picture it's pretty pathetic here and for $22, definitely overpriced with not much variety of fish... So, i will never come back and recommend you don't come either. Fukuda is cheaper and 20x higher quality. Miyazaki was the craziest rip off ever. Very disappointed.

Octopus meatballs, Godzilla roll, Kani salad, spring rolls, Miyazaki tower, and calamari!

Calamari Spring Rolls Godzilla roll This place was amazing we ordered several appetizers thinking we would get small bites but no doubt that they're warning the portions are huge. We had so much food left over we will eat for 3 days.

They have always fresh and delicious food, excellent service and delivery

I showed our waitress and she said well of course there's a bone because they only use whole fresh eel. Bruh. I mean it's $12 for 3 pieces of tuna sashimi. I'd expect the food to be fresh at those prices. Then she quickly snatched it out of my hand and left. I did hear a soft sorry as she spun around. She went off to tend to other tables. But later in the meal I did hear her talking in the back with a man in Chinese about how a customer was complaining about a small bone in l their food. Guess she doesn't know I speak Chinese. At the end of the meal, I asked our waitress if she was the owner. She said no, quickly followed by a "the owner is not here today". Then I asked whether the owner was Chinese. Super duper long pause, followed by a soft spoken yes. Well, my favorite place in Memphis is also Chinese owned. I think many of the Japanese restaurants are. Ah well.

Erm... THE GOOD:…read more-The hostess was polite. We made a reservation for 6pm, and our table was ready & available early when our group arrived around 5:40pm. -Outstanding service from our waiter ("Tommy"). He was kind, attentive, and so courteous. He most certainly had the patience of a Zen master handling our rowdy party of 10 with a few rambunctious children. There was not a single error in our orders... It's refreshing to find good service these days when dining out, and Tommy was honestly such a gem. THE BAD: Sad to say, but the food was overall pretty low tier. Every sushi roll was wrapped sloppily, with mismatched shapes & forms, nothing aesthetically pleasing, and everything disastrously falling apart with the slightest nudge. The menu was elaborate - with pages upon pages of fancy names of dishes and interesting descriptions of each item. Enticed by the menu (and realizing it was also Happy Hour, woohoo), we sampled several appetizers & rolls. Unfortunately, there was nothing impressive about the taste of any of them. In fact, it was all disappointing compared to similar items found elsewhere... It was all practically grocery store sushi rolls with a bedazzled name, and most of it looked like it was assembled by someone who had taken a single sushi-making class off the internet. That, or they just didn't care. THE UGLY: -Some other turn-offs were rickety & unstable tables, which we remedied by propping the bases with chopsticks... -And, there was also questionable black-green goo (mold?) on the ice of one of our drinks. We were so thirsty, we risked it for the biscuit (after our kind server brought us a new drink), but I would think twice about ordering ice in your drinks here. So, shoutout to the stellar waitstaff, especially good guy Tommy. But, "Try harder," for the kitchen crew. With the disappointing (and questionable) food quality we probably won't find ourselves dining here again.

Since my friend had never tried handrolls before it was a pretty quick decision! I've been to many of their sister restaurants like Aiko, Handies Douzo Montrose, Heights & Spring Branch location, Himari and Doko which are all really good, so now I can cross this one off my list too!! I made a reservation while we were on our way just in case they were busy. However, it was a pretty quiet evening. I like how they not only have the sushi bar seating which is a lot bigger than the other Sushi bars they have, but it also has standard tables so more of a restaurant feel. We ordered the 3 Handroll set which has BGB Sake (Salmon), Hamachi (Yellow tail) and Spicy Tuna. It was good to see the Salmon as part of the handroll set as Handies Douzo has switched theirs out to a different fish. I love sitting at the Sushi bar because everything is handed to you freshly made and if you have never tried a handroll you are missing out! You have to make sure to eat it right away because the seaweed has a perfect crisp to it, if you wait too long then it gets all chewy. We also ordered the Maguro Crudo which comes with bluefin tuna and the ponzu sauce is sooo good. I did ask if they had any specials and the only one available was the Kanpachi, so we also had that and it was very delicious! Overall we had a wonderful experience and the service was great!!

And that's probably the main advantage of selecting this option. We came in with only an hour to spare, with last call being at 2:30 pm (despite the buffet running to 3 pm). But within 45 min we were done. The dishes came out reasonably quick. It's a 2 hour limit if you come earlier and can manage that much food. There's no sashimi. And the slices of sashimi on top of the rice that compose the nigiri are pretty thin. The hand rolls came out soggy which means they were sitting for a while. And they got a ton of rice inside each one. Lots of sauce too especially in the eel cucumber hand roll which I didn't care for as a result. The dragon roll and Conroe roll were both ok. Nothing special in terms of specialty rolls. Shrimp wontons look like crab Rangoon and the crab Rangoon looks like jalapeño poppers. I asked the waitress about this and she said they get that comment a lot. Hmmm. Just beware. Also the skin on them as well as the fried calamari tasted tough which I think usually is attributable to old oil. Not a big fan of the beef tataki or peppercorn tuna appetizers. They had a little kick to them but the flavor was off and the tataki was kind of tough. We were told the Yellowtail jalapeño appetizer is the same as the peppercorn tuna just different fish. So we passed. The mango salmon appetizer is salmon wrapped around a mango slice. Sounds ok but because they drench it in some sauce, it tasted kinda ick. Our order of coconut shrimp never came but we weren't disappointed as nothing through the meal wowed us and it was an afterthought order to fill us up before leaving. Tempura Fried Oreo is your chance to get a Fried Oreo if you've never had one. They come in a set of 3 but you can ask for just 1 if you're full or not a big desert person. Staff was friendly. And the place was pretty busy even late into the buffet hour. I think this place is Chinese owned. Heard a lot of staff speaking it mandarin and Cantonese. And "chi" actually means eat in Chinese ... Clever.
