Came here for dinner and ordered a number of dishes to share. Seaweed Salad - Tasty and was nicely chilled Hama Chili - Light and refreshing Nigiri Selection - Super fresh Amazing Tuna Maki - Good but wasn't anything special Great service and ambiance, would definitely come back and they have a great happy hour menu as well!

One of our favorite sushi places. We enjoy this restaurant in the Woodlands on nights we crave sushi.

Yet another top-notch meal and all enjoyed in this perfect patio dining weather. Cheers.

Calling this a sushi place is a misnomer. These guys are Japanese fine dining. The menu has so much more to offer. The tempura mushrooms were the star for me. The seafood was mega fresh. Service was quick, friendly, and professional. It made for a wonderful date night. We can't wait to go back for the tasting prefixe menu. Only ding is it's pretty expensive. This makes it a special occasion place for me.

Celebrated my sister's graduation here since they were able to accommodate a party of 7 last minute. The restaurant looked small on the outside however inside, it was spacious & well decorated. They don't validate parking unfortunately. I ordered a lot for the table since it was happy hour all Sunday. Least favorite items: -salted edamame (it looked like it got snowed on) -wagyu maki, everyone at the table said it tasted like a California roll with beef for $24, couldn't finish that -hot water...because it was served in that kind of pot, it was lukewarm. -engawa, my favorite nigiri of all time but it was too chewy -lobster ramen, I think it needs hondashi, lack of some type of seasoning Favorite: -truffle salmon, simple & good -Lion King maki, MUST GET// everyone's fav -crunch maki, can't go wrong I wished there were more vegetarian dishes than just avocado rolls. There's so many ingredients at sushi restaurants to accommodate vegetarians. The staff were very nice, especially the hostess. I would recommend the temaki over nigiri's for next time!

    Tuna Foie

My girlfriends and I loved everything we ordered! The service was fantastic. Our server took excellent care of us all night and made thoughtful recommendations that we genuinely appreciated. The pricing here is also very reasonable for the quality of food. We enjoyed rolls and dishes featuring black truffle, foie gras, and uni, plus cocktails, and the total came out to about $70 per person. For the quality and variety, this is one of the better sushi spots I've visited in The Woodlands. Our favorite dishes of the night had to be the Tuna Foie and the Hughes Landing roll. The Tuna Foie was incredibly supple and rich, while the Hughes Landing offered an exciting combination of flavors that delighted us with every bite. An honorable mention goes to the Hama Chili--the addition of Fuji apple was innovative and elevated the dish beautifully. The cocktails also hit the mark and were a great complement to the meal. The ambiance added to the experience--small, cozy, and modern, it made for an intimate yet upscale setting that matched the food and service. Overall, an amazing experience with fantastic food, excellent service, and great value. Highly recommend!

    Bento box yummmm

Came here for lunch today and everything was delicious. Ordered a couple of sushi rolls, they were fresh and tasty. I also ordered a bento box with chicken and steak. It came with the option of fried rice or regular rice. Also an option for soup or salad. I got the salad with a ginger dressing so good. And so much more (see my photo) even came with a little dessert. Great service too! My favorite most flavorful thing was the spicy garlic edamame. Normally you go places and the edamame is just ok but this place made sure to pack it with flavor and a kick. Will defn be back here again!

By the water and in a nice area, there's a parking garage nearby and some but not a lot of street parking. It was quiet but they had a nice outdoor patio area, we ended up sitting inside. There only seemed to be a handful of servers and our server became busy as we sat there. Some of our drinks were forgotten a couple times and we had to try and flag the server down. Everything else was good and the drinks were good aside from the inconsistent service which wasn't too bad otherwise. They were still friendly and tried to be attentive. We started with a glass of the Mily Way Sake and an Agave Raindrop. Both were very good and I definitely recommend it. We ordered a variety of items but started with the truffle salmon. Loved how the truffle paired with the salmon overall and it was very good. We did come during happy hour so had this for the happy hour price. We ordered the Uni King Crab Spoon and the Bafun Uni Sashimi with a quail egg on top. I loved both and loved how buttery the uni was. I also ordered the a5 uni caviar handroll which was very good. Our friends ordered the (Snow Crab) Shaggy Dog Roll, the Jalapeno Roll and the Robusta Maki. All were pretty good but I think I liked the Robusta Maki the best but all were pretty good. The Crudo Hirame was recommended but I think it was either too salty or acidic but I wasn't the biggest fan. I didn't know that it also came in the bloofin special that my husband ordered so I would have refrained from ordering it if I had known. The bloofin special came with a sea bass sulmono soup which was amazing, I would recommend ordering that separately. The Hughes Landing Maki was pretty good, i definitely enjoyed that. Overall, the food was pretty good and some misses for me. I'm not sure if it's all worth the price but overall very good. I do recommend the agave raindrop and the n/naka cocktails. Definitely worth coming for happy hour though!

Assorted sashimi. The uni was a disappointment. Food quality was average and not worth the price. Probably won't return.

The hope was this place that now occupies where The Blue Fish used to be (The Blue Fish didn't survive Covid) would be as good or better. The only similarity was the pricing which was at the higher end. The quality was not great. My wife and I shared several different rolls as well as some sashimi. It was very mediocre for the price. We only had sake and wine and our check was over $200. I don't mind paying for great food but this was far from great. Service was good. Ambiance was decent but I liked it more when it was a bit more open when it was The Blue Fish.

Pretty great place in many ways. Beautiful build-out, outstanding service, and an incredibly ambitious menu. Many sushi/sashimi items that I've never heard of before and prepared in some interesting and slightly exotic ways, like dry aging the fish. Non-sushi items like chawanmushi and ramen were not so successful, both bland and monochromatic, needed some spice and some energy. The sushi itself, nigiri, etc. is very good but not outstanding - there's something muting the flavors we've become accustomed to at places like Kata Robata and WO.

This place is the real deal Holyfield. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The fact that they serve real fresh wasabi was a hint of the quality you can expect here. The star dish for me was the lobster and crab ramen... amazing! Service and ambience are also on point. Definitely recommend and want to visit again.

We arrived around 5:00 p.m., and since the restaurant was not very busy, we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive, and all of our food came out surprisingly quickly. Since it was my friend's first time visiting Kyuramen, we ordered a variety of dishes to give them a good introduction to the menu. Naturally, we had to try the restaurant's signature omurice. We ordered it with tonkatsu and sampled both the curry and demi-glace sauces. The omelet itself was perfectly cooked, with a silky, soft texture, and the rice was incredibly buttery. However, I thought the rice could have used a bit more seasoning, as it lacked flavor on its own. Between the two sauces, the demi-glace was the clear winner. Its rich, savory flavor balanced the creaminess of the egg and rice beautifully, while the curry tasted flat and reminded me too much of an instant curry cube. We also ordered the Kyushu Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. While it was a decent bowl of ramen, it did not particularly stand out, and I was disappointed that it had almost no heat despite ordering the hottest spice level. The broth was enjoyable but lacked the bold spice I was expecting. Finally, we tried the popcorn chicken. It was good, but not among the best I've had. The breading was noticeably heavier than I prefer, and I wish the restaurant had been more generous with the fried basil, which usually adds a lot of fragrance and flavor. In fact, I think several local boba cafés, such as Teahouse, serve a better version. Overall, I walked away feeling disappointed. While the omurice with demi-glace was the highlight of the meal, everything else ranged from average to underwhelming, especially considering how much praise this restaurant receives. For the prices they charge, I expected dishes with more flavor and better execution. Between the bland curry, underwhelming ramen, and mediocre popcorn chicken, I don't see myself going out of my way to come back, not only to this location but to the others, too.
