Experience was amazing - went for a work dinner and had a great time. Waiter was spectacular and really kind. Gave us a ton of recommendations. I liked some items more than others - the hand rolls were really small and harder to share. But I loved the Carolina roll with the waygu inside it was really delicious and different. I would also recommend the brussel sprouts and the crème brûlée!

Mizu is conveniently located at the top of the of the Hyatt Hotel. Upon arrival, I was escorted to a table outdoors and I immediately noticed the beautiful view. To get things started, I settled on the Elderflower French 75, it was equal parts sweet and boozy. For my meal, I had the crab fried rice and a yellowtail hand roll. The rice was okay, but it was dry and lacked flavor in my opinion. I think I would've been satisfied if there were more scallions and spices in it. The handroll was a stand out for me, and I truly enjoyed that the recipe was very different and the texture was very different! Service overall was good and I found the staff to be very friendly.

This was my first time visiting Mizu and it was beautiful!! The view you get of the sunset outside makes it worth going there alone, but the food is also SO good! The firecracker shrimp specifically was amazing. This is probably one of the nicer hotel restaurants I have been to, it feels like it could be a stand alone restaurant. I will for sure be back!

Captivating rooftop views. Amazing wine & cocktail selection. Attentive service. All of this & a stellar array of inventive dishes designed to appeal to a variety of palates. I went with a group & did the chef's tasting, which did not disappoint. Japanese milk bread, sushi, nigiri, Brussels, tuna tartare--the list goes on & each dish seemingly topped the one prior. A very memorable dining experience--I'll definitely be back!

It's been a lil minute since I've been back to Mizu, but it's still one of my fav Charlotte spots. My fiance and I came on a special date night! It was truly a perfect night, we had a reservation for 7pm or so and the sun was setting so we were seated outside on their beautiful patio area!!! My my my, this was just so scenic and beautiful. The weather was perfect and so was my company. We're big foodies so we opted for their Osusume, which is a curated family style tour of the entire dinner menu. It's $70 per person and $5 from each meal is donated to the Boys & Girls club. Amazing. We had a time!!! There was soooooooo much food! I can't even sit here and tell you everything we had, but I HIGHLY recommend trying this. You will get so much food and get to try so much from their menu. It was exceptional!!! We really enjoyed everything and loved the variety of food. Mizu continues to impress me, even after all these years.

Located at the top of the hyatt in the apex area. I didnt get any food on my visit, but I had some late night drinks on the rooftop around 10pm, as they closed at 11pm The service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is stunning. They have some non alcoholic drinks on the menu, a nice whiskey list and plenty of wines. There was a cockroach out on the patio that was a bit concerning, but I do understand we were outside--- just beware.

Had a lovely experience at Mizu inside of Hyatt Centric. I ordered the lobster fried rice and Yaki-Tori. The lobster fried rice was super yummy but I wish there would have been a tad more lobster in it for the price. They Yaki-Tori was chicken thighs on two skewers which was really flavorful. Spacious place with plenty of seating and great for a solo dinner or with company. Service was great and I was never left waiting long.

Food was excellent. Service was good. Ambiance was also good. I met a friend after work for appetizers and drinks. We both enjoyed our food and made plans to return to Mizu for dinner.

We have experience this restaurant four times, and all four times I would give it a 5!. Not an extensive sushi menu, but you know some sushi places have entirely too many selections. We have taken people with us every time. And each time, they say they will be back. Located on top of a hotel, it has a wonderful sunset view. Easy and free parking. It really reminds me I need to stop with my hesitation about restaurants in hotels. I didn't take a picture, but difinetely get the sea bass skewers!

TLDR: Great date night spot with amazing service. My boyfriend and I came on a Friday evening without a reservation and we were able to grab a high-top table in front of the kitchen with no wait. We ordered a bit of everything, and every dish was delicious, but the highlights for us were the desserts, Brussels sprouts, and grilled fish. I honestly think you can't go wrong with anything on their menu, but what really set Mizu apart was the staff's hospitality. The chefs at the counter checked in on us throughout the night and even surprised us with complimentary nigiri. Later, when we couldn't decide between two desserts, the staff brought out both and only charged us for one (a foodie's dream). To top it off, they gifted us a grilled fish entrée (!!) which ended up being the best dish of the night. We were already really full when the fish came, but we managed to finish every bite because it was SO good. Overall, we give Mizu a solid 5/5. The food alone would be reason enough to return, but the kindness and generosity of the staff truly made our date night a memorable dining experience.

My first time here and it is such a pretty restaurant overlooking South Park on the 9th Floor. Parking is validated for the restaurant if you park at the hotel. There is also a valet. If you park at the garage near Calle Sol, parking is free the first 3 hours. The restaurant has comfy booths and features a pretty outdoor patio. We came here for my birthday. Our waitress made it extra special by gifting us all a glass of champagne and some items. We ordered the crab fried rice appetizer. It didn't have alot of flavor, but was fine. You could see the small pieces of crab. Next we had the brussel sprouts and pork belly bao buns. The brussel sprouts could have been cooked a bit longer as they were still fairly chewy, but they had good flavor I especially liked the pickled ginger on them. I liked the softness of their buns and the carrot and cilantro were nice with the pork. I got the Lemon Drop sushi roll as my entree. I loved it ! Nice portion size, tasted fresh, and had great flavor. There was a lemon aoli on top that set it off. A friend got the orange duck and enjoyed it. We were served grilled pineapple which was quite good. For dessert, we had the peach & caramel cheesecake. It had good flavor and was very light. Thank you to our waitress and Mizu for making my day special !

I loved the area that this restaurant was located in. There is valet parking, free street parking and a parking garage. It is inside of a hotel on floor 9. Beautiful sitting lounge when you enter and then a gorgeous bar and an inside and outside seating area. There is also room at the sushi bar where you can watch the chef's use their special grills from Japan. Service was great and food came out in great timing. I started with a dirty martini. We split the brussel sprouts, sea bass, and chicken yakitori. I love the way they were cooked on the grill. I had salmon belly sashimi and hamachi crudo which was my favorite thing on the menu. We also got the chicken katsu udon noodles. All was sl good . The view is just spectacular!

Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas. Given the location, you'd expect the service to be A1. Instead, I was highly disappointed. Our server was friendly enough and did share the popular items, which I appreciated, but the follow-through from the kitchen didn't match the expectations that were set. I went with the recommended Panther Roll, and it was not at all what I expected -- it came out half-baked and lacking in both flavor and presentation. The crab Rangoons were even more concerning; they were fried in what tasted like old oil, leaving a heavy greasy aftertaste. The batter itself didn't seem right, and overall they were difficult to enjoy. I've worked in the hospitality industry for seven years and recently started writing reviews to offer honest feedback that can help restaurants improve. I genuinely dislike writing negative reviews, but this visit left me no choice. Konnichiwa has the potential to be a hit with a more engaged, enthusiastic staff, consistently hot food, and some attention to kitchen maintenance -- especially the fryer and oil. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I truly believe with a few adjustments, the experience could be much better.

This visit was especially fun because we came with a big group, which meant we got to do what Thai food does best: order way too much food, share everything family-style, and sample half the menu. We started with the satay, summer rolls, and papaya salad before moving on to a feast of drunken noodles, khao soi, pad Thai, Thai-style fried rice, Bang Bang shrimp, wings, and more. Every dish that hit the table disappeared quickly. The drunken noodles had that perfect smoky wok flavor, the khao soi was rich and comforting, and the pad Thai delivered exactly what you want from a classic. The wings were crispy, sticky, and completely addictive. And of course, no meal at Rai Lay Thai is complete without mango sticky rice. We ordered multiple servings because one is never enough. What keeps bringing me back is the consistency. The portions are generous, the flavors are vibrant and authentic, and the value is outstanding. Whether you're sharing with friends or taking home leftovers, you leave happy. The staff deserves a special mention. They are always warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Service is attentive without feeling rushed, even when the restaurant is packed. The dining room is comfortable and inviting, with cozy banquettes accented by beautiful Thai-inspired pillows. There is some outdoor seating available, though it's limited. For larger groups, you'll likely be dining inside, which is perfectly fine because the atmosphere is lively and energetic. My only caution is the parking. There is a validated garage behind the restaurant, but it can feel a little chaotic at times. Street parking is available as well, though being right off South Boulevard means traffic can move fast. Minor parking challenges aside, Rai Lay Thai remains one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte. The food is consistently excellent, the portions are generous, and every visit feels like money well spent. If you've never had truly great Thai food, put this place on your list. Bring friends, order family-style, and don't skip dessert. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte. Get out there and enjoy it.
