Overall good place, delicious food and fast service. I don't know much about ramen and Asian food to begin with but i was more than satisfied with everything we had. Edamame is easy to make and season- so it was good, i don't think some specific skill is needed for that hit our ramen bowls were super tasty. They are happy to accommodate any restrictions and mix and matxh ingredients when needed, which in this case it was. Genuinely a good vibe and relaxed place, not too loud not too quiet. We would come back. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that.

Came here for lunch on a cold, rainy day because I was craving ramen. I sat at the bar, and my bartender/waiter looked overwhelmed--they had just finished their lunch rush, and I'm sure he was trying to play catch-up. With that being said, his service was lacking. I had to ask for water twice, ask for a soda refill, and it took a minute just to get a menu. The pork ramen was okay--pretty bland and simple--but since it was raining, I still found some comfort in it. However, paying $30 for a bowl of ramen, some steamed bok choy, and a soda for lunch feels a bit steep. I don't think I'll be coming back.

A surprise at the bottom of the bowl!

I enjoyed lunch at Jinya with my daughter. It was the first time for both of us. The restaurant is spacious and has plenty of seating. We sat across from the bar with open four sides that allowed us to see the tables on the other side. I can only imagine the crowd they might have during the dinner hour. It was a late lunch for us, so there were only a few patrons inside. Parking behind the restaurant was plentiful. Service was excellent, and our dishes came out quickly. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen. I enjoy spicy food, and the dish was lacking (1/5). I added Sriracha or chili garlic (one of the sauces on the table) to bring it up to a 5. I tasted the Unagi Inari Sushi roll, and it was divine! I also enjoyed the Sake flight with Lychee, Pineapple, Strawberry, and Premium flavors. I enjoyed them, but my preference remains hot Sake. Overall, a good lunch, and I will visit Jinya again.

We decided to stop by after the rain set in during the foodee fest. We ordered a couple appetizers and some ramen. i've been to Jinya plenty time before and enjoy the fact that they use hakkata style noodles in their ramen. My favorite type of noodles for Tonkotsu Ramen. The broth was rich and the noodles grabs onto the broth pretty well. Along with the food the service was great. Would definitely recommend. One thing i am surprise of was their price. It's gone up significantly to 20 bucks a bowl of ramen.

My new favorite Japanese restaurant in Charlotte! Jinya has 3 tings going for it: 1. Great food, 2. Great vibe and 3. Great service: 1. Food: The menu offers quite a few options for all. My wife and I went for the Birria Ramen noodle bowl, the octopus, the Combination (Tan Tan Men with the mushrooms and the pork cashew bowl). For drinks, we got the J.Girl and the Matcha Lychee Lemonade. Everything was delicious. 2. Vibe: It's a great atmosphere to bring your family, a date or coworkers. Common areas are comfortable and clean. There is a full bar in the middle of the restaurant with plenty of big TVs if you feel like watching a game. 3. Service: Very friendly and professional! The only issue we had was that we ordered the broccolini, and they forgot to bring it. We had to mention our server not to charge us for it since she didn't realize it never came out. Overall, 100% recommended. We can't wait to come back!

This wasn't our first time eating at Jinya but our first time at this location. Let me just say I prefer this location so much more. Better parking and more space in the restaurant so you don't feel like you're on top of the next table. I enjoyed their Chicken Ramen but hubby really enjoyed their Birria Ramen. It was the chef's special for the month but I'm hoping they'll add it to the menu permanently. 4/28

Junior is good every time. I've had a lot of their bowls and I haven't had a bad one. I've done pork, chicken, birria and vegetarian. I also really enjoy the combo meal that you can do with a crispy chicken or pork gyoza and a salad.

First time visit and it was overall good. We felt a bit rushed by our server since we came in at 9:30 and they closed at 10 but she was nice and gave us all we asked for. The crispy rice with the tuna was not crispy fresh tasting, it tasted old crunchy. Not sure how best to explain that. The ramen was very good!

I'm not really into ramen but this place changed my perspective. My daughter and I went here for lunch. We enjoyed the food and service. The ambience is definitely a vibe. I'm already planning to go again.

I've been to this location about as many times as the original location downtown. Parking is about the same hassle here as it is downtown. My last visit was during the Jinya anniversary. The staff wasn't knowledge about the deals they were offering. I'm glad I took a screenshot so I could show my server. The pork bun was not a favorite for me. Too fatty and full of mayo. Two things I don't like. The ramen was ok to me but my mom loved it and wants to go back for more. She also loves the chicken thigh appetizer. Overall this is ok Ramen and Japanese apps in Charlotte but I feel like there is better flavor at other restaurants. While I take full responsibility for arriving 15 minutes late, I was shocked at how rudely the hostess--who we later learned was the manager--handled the situation. Rather than a simple acknowledgment of the delay, or improbability of getting a table, she made a point to shame us, emphasizing that accommodating us would be an extra burden for her. This set an uncomfortable tone from the start. When she begrudgingly seated us at a table that had somehow magically become available, she made another unnecessary comment, implying that I should do my part to not make her job so difficult again. My partner was immediately put off and suggested we leave, but I decided to give the restaurant another chance, assuming the manager might just be having a rough night. Unfortunately, things did not improve. The food, best described as uninspired frozen bar fare from the main Duckworth's kitchen, took over 30 minutes to arrive--and even then, it was served before our drinks. When the drinks finally did arrive, they were nothing exceptional. I ordered a French 75, and my partner had a Paloma, only to realize that even the drinks had come from downstairs at Duckworth's. Given the restaurant's supposed reputation, I was surprised that it didn't have its own bar, unlike how things are set up at The Cellar. The only redeeming aspect of our visit was our waitress, who was pleasant and professional. However, what puzzled us the most was that despite the manager's initial reluctance to seat us, nearly half of the restaurant remained empty throughout the evening. With at least three or four servers working in a relatively small space, it was clear that staffing wasn't the issue--so why the hostility? It was hard not to wonder if other potential diners had been similarly turned off by the manager's deplorable attitude and the underwhelming menu. Overall, the experience left a bad taste in our mouths--both literally and figuratively. Between the lackluster food and drinks, and the uncalled-for attitude from management (she is bald and was wearing a dress on the evening of 2/14/25 at 9:30PM-11PM), I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

Niaget took care of us at the bar (please forgive me if I got the spelling wrong!) and she is clearly a well trained mixologist. Cocktail menu is unique and the ingredients might seem a little far out, but trust the process. The drink pictured below was a bourbon-based (Old Forrester) custom cocktail that Niaget threw together. Hints of pineapple & mint mixed with my favorite brand bourbon made this an honest treat. I will be tossing this cocktail bar onto my favorites list and can't wait to go back.

Membership is $10.00 annually, and they are very keen on making sure the place isn't overcrowded, so if you arrive without a reservation, there is a chance you may not be given a seat. It isn't to be snooty, they simply want to make sure that experience for all guests meets a certain standard, and to do that they make sure that there aren't people standing around the bar and crowding it. We took our chances recently before grabbing dinner nearby, and by a stroke of luck they had two open bar seats. Their cocktail menu is second to none.
