Overall good place, delicious food and fast service. I don't know much about ramen and Asian food to begin with but i was more than satisfied with everything we had. Edamame is easy to make and season- so it was good, i don't think some specific skill is needed for that hit our ramen bowls were super tasty. They are happy to accommodate any restrictions and mix and matxh ingredients when needed, which in this case it was. Genuinely a good vibe and relaxed place, not too loud not too quiet. We would come back. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that.

Came here for lunch on a cold, rainy day because I was craving ramen. I sat at the bar, and my bartender/waiter looked overwhelmed--they had just finished their lunch rush, and I'm sure he was trying to play catch-up. With that being said, his service was lacking. I had to ask for water twice, ask for a soda refill, and it took a minute just to get a menu. The pork ramen was okay--pretty bland and simple--but since it was raining, I still found some comfort in it. However, paying $30 for a bowl of ramen, some steamed bok choy, and a soda for lunch feels a bit steep. I don't think I'll be coming back.

A surprise at the bottom of the bowl!

I enjoyed lunch at Jinya with my daughter. It was the first time for both of us. The restaurant is spacious and has plenty of seating. We sat across from the bar with open four sides that allowed us to see the tables on the other side. I can only imagine the crowd they might have during the dinner hour. It was a late lunch for us, so there were only a few patrons inside. Parking behind the restaurant was plentiful. Service was excellent, and our dishes came out quickly. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen. I enjoy spicy food, and the dish was lacking (1/5). I added Sriracha or chili garlic (one of the sauces on the table) to bring it up to a 5. I tasted the Unagi Inari Sushi roll, and it was divine! I also enjoyed the Sake flight with Lychee, Pineapple, Strawberry, and Premium flavors. I enjoyed them, but my preference remains hot Sake. Overall, a good lunch, and I will visit Jinya again.

We decided to stop by after the rain set in during the foodee fest. We ordered a couple appetizers and some ramen. i've been to Jinya plenty time before and enjoy the fact that they use hakkata style noodles in their ramen. My favorite type of noodles for Tonkotsu Ramen. The broth was rich and the noodles grabs onto the broth pretty well. Along with the food the service was great. Would definitely recommend. One thing i am surprise of was their price. It's gone up significantly to 20 bucks a bowl of ramen.

My new favorite Japanese restaurant in Charlotte! Jinya has 3 tings going for it: 1. Great food, 2. Great vibe and 3. Great service: 1. Food: The menu offers quite a few options for all. My wife and I went for the Birria Ramen noodle bowl, the octopus, the Combination (Tan Tan Men with the mushrooms and the pork cashew bowl). For drinks, we got the J.Girl and the Matcha Lychee Lemonade. Everything was delicious. 2. Vibe: It's a great atmosphere to bring your family, a date or coworkers. Common areas are comfortable and clean. There is a full bar in the middle of the restaurant with plenty of big TVs if you feel like watching a game. 3. Service: Very friendly and professional! The only issue we had was that we ordered the broccolini, and they forgot to bring it. We had to mention our server not to charge us for it since she didn't realize it never came out. Overall, 100% recommended. We can't wait to come back!

This wasn't our first time eating at Jinya but our first time at this location. Let me just say I prefer this location so much more. Better parking and more space in the restaurant so you don't feel like you're on top of the next table. I enjoyed their Chicken Ramen but hubby really enjoyed their Birria Ramen. It was the chef's special for the month but I'm hoping they'll add it to the menu permanently. 4/28

Junior is good every time. I've had a lot of their bowls and I haven't had a bad one. I've done pork, chicken, birria and vegetarian. I also really enjoy the combo meal that you can do with a crispy chicken or pork gyoza and a salad.

First time visit and it was overall good. We felt a bit rushed by our server since we came in at 9:30 and they closed at 10 but she was nice and gave us all we asked for. The crispy rice with the tuna was not crispy fresh tasting, it tasted old crunchy. Not sure how best to explain that. The ramen was very good!

I'm not really into ramen but this place changed my perspective. My daughter and I went here for lunch. We enjoyed the food and service. The ambience is definitely a vibe. I'm already planning to go again.

I've been to this location about as many times as the original location downtown. Parking is about the same hassle here as it is downtown. My last visit was during the Jinya anniversary. The staff wasn't knowledge about the deals they were offering. I'm glad I took a screenshot so I could show my server. The pork bun was not a favorite for me. Too fatty and full of mayo. Two things I don't like. The ramen was ok to me but my mom loved it and wants to go back for more. She also loves the chicken thigh appetizer. Overall this is ok Ramen and Japanese apps in Charlotte but I feel like there is better flavor at other restaurants. Holy Ramen!! What an…read moreabsolute find. This is, without exaggeration, the best ramen I've ever had -- the kind you dream about afterward, and then feel genuinely heartbroken over because it's five hours away from home. Why must the best things always be so far away from me?! But this spot has officially earned a permanent place on my "best of the best" list for my bestie's city, and I am beyond stoked to come back. Everything we tried -- every single bite -- was incredible. Honestly, no wonder there's a line out the door. This place has earned it.

We started with the pork gyoza, which were delivered quickly and were delicious. For our entrees, I had the Tonkotsu Black with added braised tofu, and my husband had the Spicy Tantan. I don't usually like eggs in my ramen (because they are never cooked enough), but Menya cooked theirs perfectly soft boiled, and I loved the flavor the egg added to the soup. Both soups had complex flavors, and we loved them. The tofu was great--thinly sliced and flavorful, if a bit salty--but I am not sure I'd need it again. My husband thought his soup was perfectly spicy. A note about parking - if you can park in the lot in front of the building, you scan a QR code, and open a parking time block. (I believe Menya paid for a 2-hour block.) You then enter the information on an iPad at the back of the restaurant to validate your parking and start the clock. It was easier than I expected, and I'd definitely use this parking service again. And if you can't get a spot in the lot in front of the building, you can park on the neighborhood streets just one or two blocks away. All told, it was a great meal for a reasonable cost. We'll definitely return!

Location wise, this place is definitely a "sleeper" place just because it's tucked back in Stonecrest across from the movie theater. The dining room is cozy but there are booths and tables.... I also liked how loud the overhead music was...but sadly, it was elevator music. Very dated. If it was something a bit more contemporary (metro lounge?), it would have been way nicer. Now, the food! I ordered their Doza Ramen, which looked spicy from the pictures...but I ended up with a very mild broth, with hardly any red chile sauce or spice to it at all. I even asked if they can add more chili and/or spice to it, and the waitress basically said that's not possible (What?!? Of course you can!!). Anyway, she said I can add Siracha sauce. (???) Guess she assumed this was the first time I had ramen lol?!? The Pork Chashu was nice and tender, but very small portion...and a tiny portion of ground pork (of beef?) and mushroom as well. Just skimpy toppings all around...yet this bowl was priced 18 bucks. I also hated how they didn't even bother to split open the egg. Also, I wasn't a fan of their super-thin noodles either. Just look at how unappetizing this bowl looked! So basically, this ramen struck out on several accounts. Possibly the weakest ramen I've had in a restaurant in years?? I managed to down at least one third of it though. Then this Sampler Tempura. While the portion of plentiful, I thought the batter was weak...and well, some of the veggie tempura just tasted BAD. Especially the Brussel Sprouts (which I normally love) had this sour taste to it? I was also disappointed that they didn't include Broccoli in the mix. I was only able to eat half of this. Just not that good. I just can't sugarcoat it. I was not into their ramen or this sampler tempura. Both too mild...very bland. Also...they charge you an additional dollar if you use credit card. Something I don't recall seeing on the menu. Given such high ratings from Yelp, I had high hopes for this place...but I left scratching my head. I doubt I'll be returning anytime soon.
