    Sushi

Wow, what an amazing restaurant. From the second we arrived, everything was amazing. The atmosphere is modern and inviting. We started with edamame and the pork belly bao buns and they were to die for. We ended with 4 roles of sushi and each one was super fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly and the bill was very reasonable. Highly recommend. Maybe next time they will give us the champagne toast after the bill.

Oshen has quickly become one of my favorite sushi spots. Their customer service is always top tier. Their sushi is fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. They serve mocktails which have never been a disappointment. They have a nice assortment of desserts too. They also serve a complimentary glass of champs upon receiving your check. Parking is plentiful. The weekend can be busy, so book ahead!

Small location but they made the most of the space. You wouldn't except the atmosphere from the outside, but it was pleasant! Service was great and they even treated us to a champagne toast at the end of our meal. Food was fantastic and unique. The appetizer we chose was on Pringle chips - yum! Fresh fish and delicious drinks. The watermelon and the lychee basil drinks were my favorite this visit. This restaurant will definitely stay in my rotation!

Dining at Oshen Sushi absolutely blew me away. It may have been the most attentive service I've ever experienced. Our server explained everything thoughtfully and in detail, and while we had a water pitcher on the table, we never once needed to touch it. If any glass was even halfway empty, someone was immediately there to refill it. The level of attentiveness was truly exceptional. Now for the food. We ordered the edamame, beef dumplings, bao buns, Mango Bliss, Hono-Maki, and Doragon rolls. Every single item was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. The bao buns practically melted in your mouth, and we loved that each roll came with its own complimentary, thoughtfully paired dipping sauce that enhanced the flavors of the dish. I would recommend this spot to anyone. I will absolutely be back, as it has officially become one of my favorite sushi restaurants.

We love Oshen and dine here at least once a month. The atmosphere is fun, they do birthdays really well, and the sushi is some of the freshest and best in Charlotte. We have tried most of the menu and everything is consistently excellent. The only item that has disappointed us is the beef dumplings. We have tried them multiple times, including again tonight, and the filling has been very dry with wrappers that are often hard or chewy. We truly love Oshen and will absolutely keep coming back. We also love dumplings and will keep trying them here in hopes they improve, because everything else on the menu is a hit.

We ordered delivery from Oshen. We were both craving sushi and Oshen was running a special so we decided to give it a try. We got the Philly roll, hono maki roll l, edamame and chicken hibachi. Everything was soooo good. It was close to the best sushi I have had in charlotte. The details in how the food was packed from the restaurant is also impressive. You could tell the servers spent time preparing everything and even included a little tray for soy sauce. If I didn't have young kids we would go in person for sure. I have already ordered delivery a few more times!

Decided to check out this spot since we were craving some sushi. The sushi was great, but it was the tuna tartar with crispy rice as well as the jalapeno hamachi that stole the show. Give the wasabi cocktail a try, it was delish. Service was on point too! However, I gave this spot only 3 stars because of a big mishap...dessert!!! We ordered the Japanese cheesecake and it had to be the worst we EVER TASTED. It was VERY dry instead of being its famous fluffy and soufflé like texture like it should have been. It was either baked far too long (if made fresh) or not thawed at all (if frozen). It literally tasted like eating a dry biscuit. I was looking forward to it and it was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Hope that was a one off mistake. Anyhow, we may give this spot another try but there is too much competition and so many good Asian spots out there to choose from in the Charlotte area.

It's been a while since we ate at Oshen but based on my notes and recollection the food was "different". I'm usually a stickler for authenticity when it comes to my cuisine preferences but I have to admit I was surprised to enjoy the fusion fare of this restaurant. The flavored edamame was a bit of a revelation. It was, for lack of a better word, mildly addictive. The beef sushi was a little cloying after a few bites. Not too fond of it. Good to experience though. The tuna roll was surprisingly tasty. The service was attentive but not obtrusive. The ambiance was a bit avant-garde and fusion-y. And to be honest, didn't really appeal to me. Too bourgeoisie for my taste. Overall I rate the food a B. Service is an A, and ambiance is a B. Solid 4 stars. So the final question then is, will I come back? Maybe. This restaurant for me was a one and done kind of deal.

We got reservations at Oshen for Valentine's Day lunch and were so impressed! The quality of the sushi was some of the best we've had in Charlotte and definitely the best in south Charlotte. The menu was unique and featured some really tasty cocktails. We started with the Steak House Roll and WOW, delicious! The roll comes in 4 pieces, deep fried crunchy and topped with savory teriyaki beef. The Doragon roll came out next and was deliciously topped with fresh tuna. Next came the star of the show - the nigiri canoe. Three pieces each of the nigiri options and all packed with delicious flavors and textures. The scallop nigiri literally melted in our mouths, the salmon was topped with fresh lime zest, and the tuna came with jalapeños. Definitely not your ordinary nigiri. We enjoyed our cocktails as well and this was my first time trying lychee. We are telling everybody we know about Oshen, definitely going back ASAP.

Oshen is quite a popular restaurant in its shopping plaza. When I went in for lunch over the weekend, every table was filled with chatter. The waitress was incredibly sweet and proactive in getting us seated within 20 minutes of waiting. Overall the presentation of the dishes ordered were beautiful, and sushi was on par with the quality found across most sushi restaurants in Charlotte.

So I came to this place years ago when it was a Mexican restaurant and since then they kept changing ownership. Finally checked this place out and didn't realized it was in the same building I used to go to. The place definitely change 180. The decor is nice and it's a pretty change. Came here on a Friday night around 5:30 and it was already busy. We ended up sitting at the bar. Everything we ordered was delicious. I would say the udon had a sour taste that I wasn't a fan of. My first bite of salmon felt like it had bones in it but I couldn't tell and just continue chewing. The hamachi, I was expecting jalapeno slices on top and didn't realized it was a sauce and it was spicy. Too spicy for me haha. The presentation was pretty. The drinks were good. I would definitely come here again. The staff and people are nice and friendly. Such a good fun atmosphere.

Solid 4.5 sushi spot. I tried the salmon nigiri, lobster tartare, steak roll, and chicken karage. The salmon nigiri and lobster tartare were both 5 star dishes, and the steak roll and chicken karage were 4 star dishes. I would love to see a wagyu nigiri added to the menu, I bet it would be a big seller. Overall I like the menu, the food was tasty, and the place seemed nice and clean inside. I have to say my favorite sushi in charlotte is Kappo En (RIP soon), and my favorite non omakase nigiri actually comes from Yunta.

Steakhouse roll favorite part of the meal.

I grabbed takeout here over the weekend, but the restaurant is beautiful on the inside so I definitely plan to dine in. Easy online ordering and pictures, which are always appreciated. I ordered the beef dumplings and the steakhouse roll. I don't typically do fried rolls because they are hit or miss, but this was actually my favorite part of the meal. The beef was a sweet stir fry and the fried outer part was crunchy and not dried out. The beef dumplings were really good as well, and came with spicy type of chili oil. The other thing I liked was the packaging-each item is labeled with the customers name and order. Very efficient. I was happy with the portion and the price. This is a great addition to the neighborhood!

We both had the Chicken Bento Boxes again...and we loved it. I've had Bento Boxes in dozens of Japanese restaurants, but this place offers such a perfect combination of items (everything we love!)...Tempura, Kaarage Chicken, Shumai, Seaweed Salad, Sushi Rolls, etc.etc. Plus, this bento box includes the salad and soup! Frankly, I wanna try other items on the menu, but I'm so addicted to this Bento Box, I just can't seem to tear away from it. My husband feels the same! Also tried their hot Sake...but think I prefer the cold version. BTW, I noticed some renovations. They now have darker Cherry Wood (?) flooring and cabinetry (behind the sushi station, that is). However, they still have some original light wood chairs and tables. Also, they separated some of the tables (Yay!)...so not as many "communal" tables like before. Anyway, think this is a good sign that this place plans to stay awhile longer!

Pretty good size shopping plaza and it's a standalone building. Don't have to walk thru the plaza dealing with people. Park and walk right in. For me, service is what made it just an OK experience. It was a little late for dinner but the restaurant was still open. I understand the side work for closing as I've been in the field before but if you have a table, it should be a focus on the guests not the other way around. There was a mix up on the bill and the annoyance on her face seemed as if she felt it was my fault. But she did fix the issue almost seeming begrudgingly. I'll also mention that I had to flag down other staff for refills, as well as the bill. And you know how it goes - one thing is off and it makes for a forgettable experience. But I will say that dinner was fine. See pics. Can't complain about prices or portions but when I was annoyed, I was just eating to eat. I don't know anyone out here whose tastes for Sushi/Sashimi aligns with mine so it's hard to say whether I'd go back or not. First, obviously I don't live there and second, more places I'd probably want to try before I go back for service like I experienced that night. But it's probably not likely
