Clean theater, including the bathrooms, and good popcorn. Seats are comfy too. Avoid the lines and buy your tickets at the kiosk to the right of the ticket booths. Tickets are cheap on Sunday morning ($4.75). They must have trouble with cell phones because there are signs everywhere about how you'll be carted off to federal prison if you're caught using yours during the movie. read more

My husband and I went to go see Logan on 3/3/17 for their early 11:30 showing. The ads prior to the previews had no sound. The previews started at 11:39, 9 minutes after the start time of the movie and the first minute of previews did not even have a picture. read more

So, I have mixed feelings about this place. The bathroom mirror provides a distorted version of reality. That was quite troubling to me. And also, the reclining seats are susceptible to user error. By that I mean that I kept accidentally hitting the button to recline when I, in fact, did not want to recline. Also, I was forced to sit in the front row of this film because "that was the only row available" but the theater was nearly empty. My neck hurts. I may be in for a lifetime of chronic neck pain now. However, I really enjoyed this theatre. It's just a really good place to watch a film, if you ask me and I will be definitely be making another visit. Actually, make that multiple visits. My favorite part was the popcorn. I love popcorn. Perfect amount of salt, just like my review. Also, if you were wondering what movie I had the pleasure of viewing, I saw Lara Croft: Tomb Raider or whatever it's called. It was a solid 5. A bit cheesy. But lots of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Also, be prepared to laugh. The film should've been titled Sprout but that's just my personal opinion. Update, attempted to go to MJR again. We had to leave early from a show due to several girls being disruptive the whole movie. There was no usher to find, and no one checking. We found a man in the hallway to complain to. The girls began moving seats, and recording the movie. We requested our money back. Please look into the fact that no one was there, it does not feel safe. Many times the kids ruin movies, as if they know they can get away with it. The boys were kicking the seats.........Just terrible. A while ago, we tried the new seats. Excited at first, remembering the comfortable seats at Emagine, only to be devastated when the seat would not go back to a full recline. These new seats are all wrong, ergonomically wrong for the back, shoulders and neck, especially for a shorter person. The head rest is wrong, pushing the head forward, as the shoulders collapse under, and the lower back arches with no support. I tried every way possible to be comfortable, only to be forced to cross my legs and sit up away from the back of the seat. So sad, so cheap, these seats. A cheap knock off. I noticed many others, attempting to put their heads on either side of the head rest for relief of the neck pain. read more

I've never had a problem with purchasing tickets here until today when I was a few minutes late to my movie and I wanted to buy a ticket at the theater instead of online. It was a couple minutes pass the start time and because of that, I wasn't allowed to purchase my tickets for the movie. It was very disappointing considering the next movie was showing 4 hours after the first. read more

It is a good place to go there is a lot of machines to put your popcorn and on the seat they have recliners. I would recommend a friend.

I have friends that come to MJR Brighton from South Lyon and Ann Arbor. You can't beat $5 matinees on Saturday. The concessions are good but pricey, just like any other movie theater. read more

More than 50% of the time it says it can't retrieve my rewards number that I enter or it doesn't seem to say that I got the tickets so I have had to call MJR to make sure it went through. It's a movie theater---plain & simple. The great thing with this place is the ticket prices. $5 before noon & $6 before 6pm. The counter staff is usually very rude, hence the lower rating. You only get one free refill on popcorn so be prepared. It is good to have their reward card but unlike other movie theaters, it takes a long time to get anything. The seats are okay. But again---enjoy the movie or wait to rent it! read more

I cannot give any theatre that charges as much as most do five stars BUT as far as cineplexes go MJR in Brighton is the best. They have 20 theatres NOT 16 like the Yelp title suggests. They always have the newest releases and for the big movie releases you can bet they are having a midnight showing, which you had might as well call a party. The staff is generally well mannered. Some of them have a bit of chip on their shoulder but otherwise my favorite characteristic of the staff is that they just leave you alone. They dont hover in the theatre, and when there is a problem they fix it, not always with a smile but its fixed none the less. MJR is also the cleanest theatre I have ever been in. They just recently replaced their carpet and I have never been grossed out by something there. Usually big cineplexes lose control of their cleanliness but MJR has maintain a great record in my opinion. They arent any more expensive than the rest and they have deals if you want to buy into them, but the only worth checking out is there MJR card build up your points and get free tickets, drinks, and popcorn. The points actually build up surprisingly quick. read more

I have visited this theater 3 times in the last month, and every time I visit there I get more and more disappointed. The first time I saw Thor- Ragnarok, first time with the new seats, was disappointed that I has to pick a seat before I got in the actual theater room, I like to sit in back and ended up sitting in front, due to seats all taken. the second time I saw Justice League, again forced to pick seat got back row right seat k-5, I left seat 6 open and 7 thru 17 was taken, sat in proper seat only to have seats 7 thru 11 open during the whole movie "why". I asked the manager and he couldn't explain the seating problem. I suggested to the manager not to assigned seats till people get to the building "first come, first serve". The third time today 11/25 got there right before movie started and was told sold out, but I am 99% sure there was open seats- wanted to see Thor again, my niece and her boyfriend was going to see justice league, so I decided I would see jl with them only very first 2 rows opened, we walked out. I went home and tried to buy tickets on "movietickets.com" had to register a new account and my seats got locked out and I couldn't pick any other seats, so I drove to the theater to buy tickets for the next day and there own computer gave me a hard time picking seats. This new pick your seat policy is garbage (rather use a more colorful word- but wouldn't be appropriate). If they don't change something they will lose a good customer. read more

MJR is a great movie theatre for many reasons. What makes going there the most fun is their rewards program. It is one of the best rewards programs I have experienced. With frequent regularity, you can earn free drinks, popcorn and movie tickets. The motherload is when you earn all three! Another great feature is their free popcorn nights during the month of August. The theatre is clean and well managed. I highly recommend it. read more

we love it, so it's a little pricy, it's a night out at the movies, compare it to a night out to dinner at a nice restaurant, it's clean, you get a lot of popcorn, you can add butter yourself at one of the two butter dispenser stations, the sound is good, the seats are comfy the screens are big bathrooms are clean, lines are never too long, and someone actually commented that they keep the lights on during the movie, that is NOT true, the staff is always nice, and as for the conditions of the concession stand, when they are not too busy getting our drinks and popcorn and ringing us up, they do keep up on cleaning when they get a chance, but sometimes as soon as they clean up, customers just make a mess again, it's the slobby customers that don't clean up after themselves that leave those sticky messes and leave their trash on the counter, don't blame the staff, you don't know, until you've worked there yourself. read more

The best theatre in the county, but it doesn't have much competition for that title. I have no complaints about the venue, and they usually run the movies I am interested in seeing (they don't seem to get the limited-release movies, so if you want to see one of them, you'll probably have to head to Ann Arbor). I decided to try out the new bar in mjr before my movie. My friend and I were running a little late but the bar was almost empty so we figured we had time for a quick drink. The bartender was an older woman with short brown hair who seemed more interested in socializing then taking care of customers. There were 4 other people at the bar besides my friend and I and two already had drinks. We waited over 10 mins for drinks and when she finally took our order she asked my friend his drink order and completely ignored me looked at a man who just walked up to the bar land said "oh the usual hun?" Then proceeded to make his drink. When my friends said "excuse me are you going to take my friends order?" To which we said two beers. She was moving almost purposely slow to which we said were running a little late would you mind hurrying a bit. She responded with @uh no you have 15mins your fine" to which I responded no we're already 15 mins late. She was rude, slow, and snotty. I avoided getting another drink because I didn't want to deal with her. read more
