Had a couple hours while waiting for my daughters hair appt to finish and found MK. It was a Saturday afternoon and wanted to catch the Michigan/OSU game. Found it on a tv and sat at the bar. It was brunch time, but I wasn't looking for something big. A few items looked worth trying and I'll check them out next time. Did grab a Bloody Mary and definitely hit the spot. Had a little kick, but not powerful. Also Chicken Empanadas, which were tasty. Not the best, not the worst. Overall, no issues with MK Valencia, especially for what I was looking for. I'll be back when my daughter has her next appointment.

Went here for Saturday brunch. I was so happy to find this place because most places only serve Sunday brunch. We ordered the bruschetta and mac and cheese bites for appetizers which were very yummy. I wasn't crazy about the garlic aioli for the mac and cheese bites but the bites themselves I thought were good. The bruschetta was about as perfect as bruschetta can get. For brunch, you get an entree, dessert and coffee/tea/soda for one price. I got the impossible burger, chocolate lava cake and coffee. The chocolate lava cake was an upcharge but I'm glad I did it because it was delicious and oozing with chocolate. So much chocolate that I couldn't eat it all. The impossible burger was ok but to be honest it's hard to make one of those very flavorful. The coffee was good. I ordered a passionfruit mimosa as well which was just ok. It mostly tasted like champagne instead of passionfruit. The service was phenomenal! I loved our server. She was so attentive and thoughtful. She came to check on us all the time and everything came out promptly. All in all, I would definitely come here for brunch again. Definitely try this place if you're looking for a good brunch spot in the area. If you're looking for parking, there's a municipal parking lot behind the liquor store across the street. There's also street parking. Both are metered and take quarters only.

One of my girlfriends and I got together to get brunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and told the hostess my name and she sat me towards the back. My friend arrived a little after I sat. Sofia was our server and she was nice. The place was super cute and had an area for private parties. I ordered the seafood fritti and my friend ordered the zucchini chips and mozzarella sticks. The seafood fritti was good but the shrimp was a tad salty. My friend said the zucchini chips were salty but she enjoyed her mozzarella sticks. We had a pretty decent time here. Fyi they have a good brunch special.

We were looking for a good brunch and remembered hearing about MK Valencia. I made reservations and was surprised I had to put my CC down as a deposit to hold our reservations. I was expecting a packed house and DJ. Neither was the case. I didn't want a boozy brunch but with adding a credit card to file - you'd think otherwise. There was music but pretty low. I had a spicy margarita. It was delicious. The food was so good and loved the dessert. Overall it was a great experience and great service.

Inside, it feels like you are in the city and not in a sleepy town. It's a nice place to celebrate, go on a date or just hang at the bar. Service was really friendly and attentive, despite being short-staffed (I saw only one server for the whole place when I went). The food was a little salty and nothing too special, but it was tasty. The variety of the items on the menu was weird, with bulgogi, quesadillas and chicken parm in one place. I'm happy I went, but I don't think I'll be back.

There were multiple places throughout the establishment which were set up with a back drop to snap pictures.  The vibe on the top floor blew my mind. I never imaged there would be a place like this is Bergenfield. We had ordered Guacamole which tasted kind of bland and was just average. Drinks were pretty good though. My main issue was how they have setup their Hookah. Very limited Flavors to begin with and except for one, all other flavors were not so great. On top of that, they charge $10 extra to replace the Coals. $10 for COALS..?!?!? I have been to so many Hookah Lounges and this was the 1st we were ever charged for getting the coals changed. That is just atrocious. Switching the complete bowl with new flavor was $20, so obviously we ended up opting for that eventhough the 1st bowl/flavour was still good and just needed new coals.

The vibes here are excellent - the space is beautifully decorated, clean, and the outdoor patio is gorgeous, especially in the summertime. The cocktails are all extremely creative and delicious (although I do think a little on the weak side). The last time I was here was for a birthday dinner. We were a large party of 8 women, and all the staff was very accommodating towards us. The food/drinks came out quickly, and they even gave my friend a big ol' birthday celebration complete with a firework candle and a light-up sign. The food is pretty decent - Spanish and Hispanic mostly, with a Caribbean flair. Standouts were the coconut shrimp (which came on a clothes hanger), the steak and tostones, and the ropa vieja. The only real downside of Don Coqui is the price of everything. The bill (with a 20% tip added for a large party) was just shy of 600 dollars, and this was for a table of appetizers and cocktails. Also, the valet parking for 15 dollars is wild, especially when there is a free lot available mere steps away. if you're feeling a little bougie, this is a great spot to grab a drink and get some great photos!

The bi-level bar and lounge was dark, swanky, and seductive. It would make an excellent spot for dates or groups of friends, like mine. We started off sitting at the bar, as there were no large tables available upon our arrival. However, after about 15 minutes, the host approached to tell us that he could actually seat us. I picked up my glass, which was wet with condensation, and it slipped out of my hands. I was able to collect it with only a minor spill, but the host insisted that the bar staff make me a new cocktail in case the glass had chipped at all. It was a considerate gesture that I greatly appreciated. Plus, since I had already taken a few sips, I was thrilled to get those back in a new glass! In terms of my cocktail of choice, I had opted for the Hot Tijuana Tease, a fiery blend of mezcal, blanco tequila, chile poblano liqueur, and lime juice. So, it was essentially a spicy margarita, and it was excellent. There were clean, crisp notes of peppery heat balanced with layers of robust smoke. My only complaint about the lounge was that the bathrooms were beyond tiny. There were two unisex stalls in a very tight alcove that also included a cramped sink counter. It was awkward and uncomfortable to share that space with another patron. Aside from that, the Hide Rooftop was a beautiful place with a friendly staff and interesting drinks.

I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

Whether one's in the mood for a cozy family dinner or a casual get-together with friends. Sitting on the banks of the Hudson River in Edgewater, my partner, our friends, and I decided on a celebratory dinner at the Haven Waterfront Restaurant & Bar. A reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon arrival as first-timers, we were greeted by the host and got a table immediately by the window inside their floor-to-ceiling dining room, evoking a relaxed yet upscale vibe. Their menu specializes in American/Mediterranean cuisine influenced by seafood, steakhouse, and pasta. For appetizers, we decided on Short Rib Crostini, Kumamoto Oysters, and Yellowin Ahi Tuna Tacos. Our main consisted of Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass, 7 oz Prime Cut Filet Mignon, Bangkok Roasted Duck Breast, Lenny's Lobster Pasta, Crispy Lyonnaise Potatoes, and French Butter Asparagus. We even saved room for dessert and got the Bailey's Crème Brûlée and Assorted Dessert Tasting for two. We washed them down with I Dream of Lychees Martini, Berry White Spritz, and Haven Espresso. Complimentary bread with softened butter started our meal. The food is presented like art, and the portions varied depending on what one ordered. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it and fair considering the quality. Since gratuity is automatically included for larger parties, it made the experience even more disappointing. As for the food, several dishes lacked seasoning, including the lobster mac & cheese, salmon, braised short rib, short rib ragu, and lobster croquettes.
