I've dealt with a lot of auto shops, and also worked at a few in my life, and I have to say that Mike is the most honest mechanic I've ever met in my life. He's incredibly knowledgeable, is very fair with his prices and doesn't overcharge for his services. And unlike other shops who buy the cheapest parts that they can find from Oreilly's, AutoZone, and Napa, and overprice them by 100%-200%, he only uses OEM or parts that hold the same quality to make sure that his customers are properly taken care of. (He also does ECU repairs, which is a hard service to find nowadays. And for way less than other places on island.) It was nice to talk directly with the mechanic from the very start and not have to go through a front desk staff. He fixed my horn in a couple hours and was cheaper than anywhere else quoted. 5 months later I now have a different problem with my check engine light on and I am calling Mike today. My girlfriend'ss and my total experience with ML Autotronic was great! We have a 1997 Jeep and the dreaded check engine light came on and it started running bad, so we needed to get it fixed. We didn't want to take it to the "stealership" and get ripped, but we didn't know where to bring it. We checked out a few places before going here, but didn't like the first impression we got so we kept on looking. It was after going to get the Jeep washed at McKinley car wash that we spotted ML Autotronic. We went in and talked to Michael, the owner, and got a good feeling about the place. He said we could bring in the Jeep the next day and drop it off. He quoted us a price for the job and stuck to it, which is awesome. His price was also very fair and he didn't do anything without getting our permission first. He fixed the problem with the check engine light for less than he originally told us, and got it done in one day. He remained honest and even tried to educate us in what he was doing and what was wrong. We would highly recommend his shop to anyone needing auto repair. Just call ahead, because he said he normally doesn't take walk ins (I guess we lucked out on that one). Next time we need more repairs, we know where we're going for sure. Can't thank Mike Le enough for working on my truck. Been having vibration issues for months w/ my driveshaft & had to wait almost 7 weeks to bring it to Toyota for them to tell me I needed to replace the whole driveshaft assembly for about $1800. I needed a second opinion and Mike & crew were able to figure out a solution for a fraction of what I was quoted from Toyota. Came here because my AC was not working. Called the day before and he said I could drop off my car the next day. I would definitely call ahead. Mike does everything himself, by himself. Came in in the morning and dropped off my car. Mike took the time to ask me a bunch of questions about the problem with my AC. He even asked me if I had anything else that I thought might need checking. I told him I just bought the car used, but I hadn't had it looked at. I told him it was my first car. I told him that the car seemed to be running just fine and there were no warning lights coming up or anything. He told me then the car should be fine. He could have easily tried to take advantage of me and said something like, "oh well if you bought the car used you should definitely have the car serviced just to be safe." But he instead told me that everything should be fine then if the car wasn't sounding funny or odd. He was very friendly and even socialized with me a bit altho he had work to do. Others would've rushed the customer out because they didn't want to be bothered perhaps. I would absolutely go back here again. My thought is since this is his very own business he will take care of the customer well. We have all been to a store where it was obvious the worker didn't care about you. It's not their business so they can care less if you come back or not. They are just there for their paycheck. But if this is his store I think he definitely wants to make sure he gives great service because he knows directly that these customers are paying his rent. Go see Mike! read more
