Fries.

We had the pleasure of visiting and tasting the menu for a soft opening if this location. This space may seem familiar as it is the former location of Casa del Barco at Chesterfield Towne Center. I did not eat here at that time. The exterior is clean and simply branded, which is definitely not a knock. It is sleek and noticeable. The interior is very light and welcoming. We had a reservation for 6pm, It was not packed, which is a plus. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant not suggestion would be to have shades for the indoor patio windows because it can become very bright and sunset, although beauty, can be very brightly reflected off of indoor tables. The outdoor patio was not open, but that is not a dealbreaker. The seared yellowfin tuna appetizer was as close to perfect as you can get. The sauce and slow that accompanied added to the flavors and paired well. The Seafood pasta was absolutely delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. My only suggestion is that I wanted some garlic bread to help me finish of the remnants of the delicious sauce. The 14oz Nee York strip was also ordered and, to my understanding, was cooked perfectly (medium well) which was topped with their herb butter. The house sauce that accompanies was delicious as well. The mashed potatoes were eaten quickly. The fries are delicious as well (a child with a particular palette accompanied us. Lol) The Harlem drink is strong for my taste, but well put together. The Hail Storm Julep is delicious. They also offer 4 different Old Fashions that can be served smoked for an additional $2. The pièce de résistance was the Lemon Bliss cake. My GOSH. DeLICIOUS. Someone whom proclaimed do not like sweets had, at least, four healthy bites. The particular palette child even partook and said that it was good. We will ABSOLUTELY be back.

I waited a few days to provide my experience to see if the restaurant would make it right due to them asking for a survey in my email. The food was cooked well & everything taste amazing as I rmmber it BUT the service, omg... HORRIBLE! We arrived at our reservation on time & we're seated quickly but our server, Ashley, was not attentive at all. After waiting extra long for our entrees, we asked to get more bread that came with the mussels while we wait for our entrees & were told it's $2 up charge so we declined , then a minute later the manager comes over & says "our chef forget to drop your crab cakes so do you want something else while you wait?" So instead of accommodating from the beginning here we are, getting the very item we asked for. THEN we had to flag our server down to ask about drinks ordered & ask to remove the dirty dishes from our appetizers due to no room on the table. The other servers in the restaurant were EXTREMELY LOUD. One server is literally yelling while taking customer & talking to other guest.. The table next to us was celebrating an anniversary & they sent the steak back to be cooked a tiny bit more & it never returned... the manager ended up comp there entire meal.

Appetizer: Steamed Mussels - $15 Great Flavor. Make sure they're HOT!

A friend and I visited this location of ML Steak on 04/12/25. I honestly did minimal research before going, this place was highly recommended by my friend. My initial reaction upon entering, the place was bright, inviting, minimal decor. It was simple and sweet. There are two floors and a private dining area. In terms of service, it was not busy when we arrived. There were probably three other tables that had already been sat and helped. It still took a minute for our server to come over and greet us. We started off with cocktails and granted, it took a minute for my friend and I to decide what appetizer and entrée we wanted, but we didn't feel that there was a sense of urgency in terms of ensuring that we were good from the beginning of our experience. For appetizers, I got the steamed mussels. A very good choice. I was not 100% pleased. For the amount of time that it took for the appetizer to come out I would have assumed that when it was received it would've been hot. It came out lukewarm. Flavor, wise and appearance, an 6.5 out of 10, but the temperature really affected the flavor. Had it been hot? I'm almost certain it would've been around an eight or nine. Now for our entrées, this is when the experience went downhill and very very fast. I ordered the fillet medallion flight. I have heard so many great things about this specific entrée from both my mother and my sister however, they both went to the location in downtown Richmond, not Midlothian/Bonaire. Now I am a steak girlie. I love a good crust on the outside, some good pink on the inside. Just about everywhere I go I order my steaks, medium. I have never not ordered a medium steak. This experience specifically, when the steak first came out, I was almost repulsed with how red the inside of the steak was. From there, I cut the other two steaks open and looking at the red red red red meat, I was almost sick to my stomach. I asked for it to be remade and she removed the plate. She came back a little while later with a new set of steaks. She immediately walked away after placing the plate down, so I did not have the opportunity to cut the steaks open in front of her, however, when I did, they were still blue rare. When she came back to ask if everything was OK I advised her that these steaks were still not prepared correctly and I needed them cooked to medium. After a while, the manager came over introduced himself and asked what the issue was. I explained that I ordered my steak medium, and it has come out blue rare. I told him I could not possibly eat the steak at that temperature and I needed to be prepared medium. He apologized. He took it back to the kitchen and maybe 5 to 10 minutes later came out with a new set of the trio. I again, cut open the blue cheese steak and it again was blue rare. At this point, I was completely turned off by the entire experience. I was expecting something much better than what I received. When the manager came back over to check in, I advised again that the steaks were not prepared correctly however I was not interested in waiting for another set of steaks to come out. He said that since the steaks had been cut into, he was unable to take them off the bill. I tried my hardest to cut around the raw in the center and only eat the cooked portion, but the attempt was futile. For dessert, my friend ordered a cheesecake. I wanted to try it however I am allergic to tree nuts. I asked the waitress before putting in my order for dessert if the cheesecake had nuts in it. She adamantly and confidently told me no. When the cake came to the table, it was literally crusted in chopped nuts. I asked her again, does this cake have nuts? She looks at the cake after she has already brought it out to me and says oh yes... I mean literally yall. I laughed so hard. I just couldn't believe it. I mean like how. Another woman from the kitchen ended up coming up and apologizing for that mishap and brought me a very large slice of blueberry lemon cake. I will honestly say that's probably some of the best cake I've ever had. I'm not sure if they make it in house or they purchased it elsewhere, but it's really good and worth the try. All in all, I do not think I will ever revisit this specific location. I am hesitant and still looking forward to a visit to the downtown Richmond location. My experience was in the least bit enjoyable. I was only actually able to complete my appetizer and my drinks . The steak itself made me so sick that not even 15 minutes after I left I got immensely sick. And I mean coming from the front and the back. Either the chef in the kitchen is not qualified and or trained and how to properly cook and prepare steak or the meat itself was just terribly bad. In addition, I had to pay an 18% gratuity for an experience that was much less than favorable. All in all, all I could genuinely do was laugh because what was done was done. $117 for nothing.

We only went for happy hour and they had some good deals. The place is a lovely space. We were disturbed that the bartender did not know what a dark and stormy was they had some great deals on the happy hour menu and had some unique twist on the items, happy hour ends at 6 PM. We did not stay for dinner. We liked the Asian flower and the fried chicken bao. we did not like the tuna and they did take it off our bill.

We decided to celebrate an early Mother's day brunch at this place with my family. The ambiance was delightful, the service was great but overall.. the food was scrumptious!

Lobster Mac and cheese

My wife and I came here for our anniversary and boy were e we disappointed. I got the lobster Mac and cheese as an appetizer and wasted $18. There was barely any lobster, the noodles were mush, and the whole dish seemed more like a soup than anything. Then came the steak. You'd think that a place with Steak in their name could make one right but the cook was uneven throughout the whole thing. Ranging from raw to medium. My wife got the fried smoked half chicken and the flavor was great. But they also couldn't cook it all the way through so we wasted more money on that. General consensus is that we won't be returning. The service was weird. The hostess also went around kind of waiting tables. Servers were bouncing around like they didn't have a section. And our server was also the bartender. Very interesting. The ambiance is pretty interesting. I thought the outside made it look fancy but the inside was industrial and modern.

Funnel cake chicken

My first time at ML Steak and it was terrible! We had a big party of about 14-15, but we were literally the only people in there this afternoon, which was the first red flag! The ordering process was unorganized and the waiter skipped around the table to get the orders instead of going down the line. People ended up ordering at different times so our food did not arrive together. We were originally told we could only order from the lunch and brunch menu and after some people ordered another waitress told us we could order from the dinner menu. They did allow people to change their orders since the kitchen hadn't started cooking yet. Now onto the food, TRASH!! My husband ordered a NY strip well done. It was sent back twice and still medium rare both times. They were also out of mashed potatoes. The funnel cake and chicken is executed terribly. The funnel cake part is hard. No one liked the mac n' cheese or French Toast. I left hungry! I don't see how this location will stay open, but good luck!! The restaurant did comp some meals at least!

We chose ML for our anniversary dinner and left very happy! We picked the Chesterfield location for the parking and since it was a Monday night, the crowds were light too. I love this new space....its bright and fresh. Our server was very busy but also attentive with just the right amount of interaction. We started with the mussels and LOVED them. Needed more bread for the sauce but that just meant we had plenty of room for dinner. My hubs got the sirloin Oscar style and I got the Ribeye. We both enjoyed our meals A LOT and had leftovers for later in the week. Very happy with our choice and plan on returning for other special events!

New addition to Chesterfield but not new to RVA. Came in for some light bites and cocktails. The Tom the bartender was 5 star! He was knowledgeable about both the food and drink menus. All the suggestions were hits. In addition to the drink below I sampled Strawberry Titorita (my fav) and the Revivalist. For food I selected the fried chicken bao bun and seared yellowfin tuna. Loved them both. Nice location for after work or dinner. Will put this in rotation.

Such a great vibe at this steakhouse. Stopped in for their soft opening which was cool very intimate and private. We had the pleasure of me and the owners which was also awesome. Your place looks great and being that they weren't fully open the outside was not available but the inside was very quiet and inviting. Who was awesome I had the 14 oz New York strip with their herb butter and house sauce. I accompanied ot with their mashed potatoes. As a starter I had the tuna which I must say was absolutely fascinating I must have that dish again soon. I can't wait for this place to fully open so that I can explore the rest of the menu in it's entirety

Nothing but glass no shade and I'm right in the front door parked

I just left the restaurant in Midlothia. I spent close to 300 dollars walked out at about 840. I had the handicap parking in front of the restaurant. Within seconds I realized I left my "to go box" I went to the door and it was locked. If I'm correct they don't close till 10. I knocked and knocked and those inside kept walking around pretending they don't see me. After a good 7-8 minutes someone finally comes unlocks the door, I tell them about my food and they offer an apology because they threw it away. How dare you ? Why would I ask for a "to go box" ? I was right outside your door you didn't want to bend squint squat anything I was right there no courtesy to say you forgot your food. My first and last time coming here. This was an expensive meal and I paid for it . I took a pic from my car so you can see how close I was shame on you all never again

Food & service is great! For now no big crowds, which I prefer. Since they are new (replaci the a casa de Barco). No cash is accepted here but Apple Pay is- just a heads up.

Had a chance to visit this location last week. On the website, they strongly advised that customers place a reservation, but sadly there were no reservation spaces available on the day that I went. On a hunch, I decided to go see what the wait was for the evening and I was not only immediately seated but shocked to see that the restaurant wasn't even halfway filled to capacity. I ordered the Fried/Smoked half chicken which came with two sides and I had a chance to taste the Ribs with a side of Truffle fries. The chicken was probably the tastiest thing that I had during my visit. The Mac and Cheese was decent in flavor but it was lukewarm and the cheese had essentially solidified. The greens were a bit on the acidic side which would be an acquired taste for most folks who might like the savory/slightly salty greens. The ribs had a decent flavor but they were extremely overcooked. It took some work to cut through them and once I had one, chewing the meat was like chewing on leather. The truffle fries were nothing special but definitely overpriced. Speaking of prices, the chicken with two sides meal was roughly $25 and that was on the cheaper side of the entrees. Every bill has 20% gratuity tacked on to it, which kinda sucks if the service is bad, but luckily the service was exceptional at this restaurant, so much so that there were times when some of the service staff were seen standing around and waiting for something to do. Overall experience would be 3 outta 5 stars and that's including the quality of service. Take the service away and the review drops to 2 outta 5 stars. This location is still pretty new and it seems like they are still trying to work out the kinks.

The ambiance was clean and orderly. Upon entering, you grab a serving tray lined with parchment and some tongs. The items are in a glass enclosed display that you have to open and place your selections on your tray for purchase. I settled on the pistachio cream filled pecan pastry, the almond twist, and strawberry shortcake. The beverage menu was extensive: matcha, flavored teas, cocoa, espresso/coffee, and more. We were greeted by pleasant staff at checkout and our orders placed in a parchment type bag for take out. They also have seating inside. The pastries were just sweet enough without being overly sweet, which I like. The pistachio cream was a perfect compliment to the pecan encrusted pastry. The almond twist was both flaky and crunchy with the sliced almonds on top, and the strawberry shortcake had layers of real strawberries, whipped topping and yellow cake that was moist. All were fresh. All in all, a great place to stop by for a morning pastry treat and tea/coffee while in the area,
