Ava is amazing!! my family came for a birthday and she went above and beyond as a server!

My hubby and I came here on a whim for a date night, and boy, did they not disappoint. We thought we were going to have to wait for a while, but we were pleasantly surprised that the patio was open on a first-come, first-served basis, so we sat outside. It was a pretty nice evening with a light breeze. It was perfect, since they had over-the-top heaters and then a beautiful heater that came on at the end of the patio. We started out by ordering some old-fashioned drinks to sip, and they were amazing! Beautifully made and spot on with the flavor. For food, we decided to order from the three-course dinner menu. My husband started with a steakhouse wedge salad, and I had the chicken tortilla soup. Wow, both were so yummy. My husband could not say enough about his salad. My soup was bursting with flavor and full of chicken. And because we apparently needed to be extra, we had to order the lobster spinach queso because it sounded amazing, which it certainly was. It was full of lobster, spinich and pepper jack cheese!!! For the entree, my husband had the wood-grilled chicken, and I ordered the grilled salmon and shrimp. He said the entree was incredible. He loved the mushrooms and tomatoes grilled on top and especially raved about the parmesan mashed potatoes. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. My grilled salmon and shrimp were spot on. The shrimp were thick, and the salmon was grilled to perfection. Both were topped with a light aji amarillo sauce that was fantastic together. To me, the ancient grains pilaf topped the whole thing off, the salmon with the pilaf and sauce were a perfect three-piece combo that had me wanting more and more with each bite. For dessert, we both ordered the petite creme brulee cheesecakes. At this point, I was bursting, but the gorgeous vision in front of me could not be wasted!!!! The cheesecake had a perfect light crunch on top and paired beautifully with the fruit and dollop of whipped cream on the plate. Late night dinner ordered steak penne , manager comes over and excuses that he is out of penne and would accommodate with another pasta. Cool no problem ... dish comes out and supposed to be a parmesan sauce with parmesan cheese on top and it is some weird sauce with chewy unseasoned meat. He disgruntled told me "Well everyone is not going to like our food" . My son ordered the same thing and ate half of his because he doesn't complain. But for $27 it should be of quality. read more

We decided on our date night to try the new location and because we hadn't had Firebirds in quite a while. Upon entering we were greeted immediately and seated. The server came over within seconds. It was after 3pm when we arrived so I'm assuming the lunch crowd was gone already. We order two entress from their summer feature selections and one appetizer. The food came out within 20 mins. The bread was freshly baked. Our drinks were good as well. The pineapple chicken kabobs needed a pinch of salt. The citrus salmon and shrimp was fresh and no fishy smell at all. They both were delicious. The appetizer of the Chimichurri shrimp was flavorful. Our server was on point with our drink refills and he had a pleasant attitude. We will return again. read more

DINNER SERVICE! clean intimate setting can be achieved here. We sat at a booth next to the kitchen and geezuz the line crew was loud considering it was only a few tables occupied. Maria was great and honest with suggestions offered us a sample of the signature drink before ordering. Grateful for that since it was different (forgot the name). Food: Of course I order salmon and shrimp from the 3-course meal menu The salmon was SALTY AF.....cook must had forgot it was seasoned cuz geezuz.... I flipped it over and ate from the bottom and it was ok. Broccoli was overcooked to what I like it was rather mushy bit edible. Immediate 5 stars! Newly opened and happy to have FWFG nearby! Smiling faces upon entering and dining during the lunch hour gave us quick seating. Cocktails: Double Black Diamond Martini (Tropical and with a nice chunk of pineapple) Lemonade Drop (A burst of sour followed by sweetnes) Servers kept exchanging our glasses with frosted glasses to keep our drinks cold. Now THAT I love!! Starters: Wood grilled chimichurri shrimp (Plump shrimp with herbs) Lobster spinach queso (Small chunks of lobster with melted cheeses and spinach.) Our server Amanda handled our party's picky requests to split entrees, add this, remove that, etc. It was all delicious. Really loved the salmon eggs benedict. She even brought a complimentary bday dessert to the birthday girl. Tip: If your party is over 6, don't try to reserve ahead of time. They'll say you can only reserve for 6. Instead, just show up and they'll accommodate. read more

We dropped by shortly after the restaurant's grand opening and were greeted by friendly staff. While the service was a bit slower than we'd hoped, the food matched the quality we've enjoyed at other Firebird locations. It was a busy Sunday; it seems the team just needs a little extra time to iron out the workflow, but the overall experience was pleasant. read more

A group of my friends and I came here for Friendsgiving, and we had a wonderful waiter who was super sweet and attentive. For appetizers, we ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Wood Grilled Chimichurri Shrimp, and the Lobster Spinach Queso. For my entrée, I got the Honey Garlic Chicken with broccoli and a loaded baked potato. For my first time here, I absolutely loved it. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. Stopped in yesterday for lunch and sat at the bar. Bar staff were super attentive and friendly. My friend and I both got one of their Perfect Pair lunch specials and an order of the Deviled Eggs as an appetizer. The Deviled Eggs were absolutely fabulous so creamy and piped mile high. Highly recommend them! My Caesar salad was a bit disappointing and underwhelming- too too much dressing making it into a limp mushy mess. I'm guessing the salad wasn't the freshest either. My friends BLT salad she said was tasty but that to had too much dressing on it. My BLT sandwich had plenty of bacon - thank you and the tomatoes thankfully weren't rock hard which sometimes happens when they are out of season. So thumbs up on the BLT sandwiches. The seating at the bar was very comfortable and the dining area was very dark with high industrial type ceilings adding to the dark broody moody atmosphere. One thing is the parking area is very limited. The mini traffic circle was so tiny and tight and if you drive a big SUV don't even think about navigating it around as you'll get stuck as the turning radius is so so tiny. Tried to sign up for their diner rewards thru QRC code but you couldn't enter your birthday and it would only say November 25, 2025. Kind of frustrating... After having had time to digest the whole experience of my 1st time here at this location I felt it was underwhelming. I didn't get that Wow I can't wait to come back again feeling which I was anticipating. Will give it some time before I head back. read more

We reserved space to accommodate a party of 20 on August 9. We had been told that no one would be seated unless total party was present at reservation time. We were also told that we would be charged for "no shows". Most of us arrived at appointment time and thankfully, we were seated. When I saw the fans in the floor, I realized that we had a problem. They said nothing. Shortly after our being seated, they sat another large party across the aisle from us. The food was good, the service was very good, The room became uncomfortably warm. I can't imagine what it was like in the kitchen. I found out later that the AC had not just gone out that day. Today I read another review written on August 2 complaining about the lack of AC. So, that's at least a week. I was very disappointed that they seem to ignore the comfort of the guests. They should have told us at the time the reservation was made that they were without AC to give us the option to find another venue. I'm sorry to say that it was not a pleasant experience. read more

Well my food was great.... Not quite what I ordered, but good. Wait wax long, understandable for busy Sunday brunch, but we revived our food nearly 30 min after the table beside us who sat down 30 min after us received their food. My food was kinda cool.. I hate to complain, but... Environment was nice, I was a lovely occasion for my party, so we enjoyed each other's company which helped the time pass. Last but- accommodating food allergies is really Feasible here, so if you have shellfish allergies per se- all friend items are a no. Fries and animal products fried in same oil. For those who do not eat pork or shellfish selection is alarmingly limited- without notable requested accommodations. They did their best to accommodate me- so I am thankful, but in 2025, I would think at the thought of cross contamination was considered a little more. It was busy - Sunday. Reservations helpful. Prices are up, quality and service are down. This started 5 star. Walk in at 4 with 4 people at the bar. Not seating there long and person at bar taking inventory coughs on me. Place order and salmon shows up burned on one end and black particles on the rest. Just in no mood to send it back and ate it. Ask for check and was overcharge for wine. We came in tonight with our family for my husband's birthday because every time we come in the food is great and the service and atmosphere are welcoming. We were served by Jonathon, with Justin helping and supervising his training. Those two brothers were AMAZING. Incredibly thoughtful and prompt service. My college aged daughters were asking about job openings, and those guys took the time to schedule an interview for my daughter while we were there! We moved to Richmond recently from Houston, and the restaurant scene overall has been pretty dismal. But every experience we have at Firebirds has been exceptional. The food is amazing, the service is amazing, and we feel like we are getting our money's worth. Highly highly recommend. read more

Service: My server, "Fin", was excellent! We was attentive, engaging, instinctively knew my pace and respected it. I had questions about the menu (the steaks) and she was able to answer half of them and while she didn't know the answers to my other questions she did willingly seek out the answers. Fin is a Rockstar. Ask for her my name. Food: Also excellent. The chicken tortilla soup is okay. (It comes with sour cream and I am not sure if it said that on the menu. I don't like s.c.). The pre-entreé bread was fresh and hot. Nice :) The steak was cooked perfectly! Maybe just a pinch over seasoned for me, but nothing to complain about. The only thing I can and will speak negatively about was plate presentation. That was bad. Blah. Unappealing and uninviting. Ambience: It was okay. As to be expected from Firebirds. It is well lit, a little loud but still easily able to have a conversation. This would be a 5 star review if it wasn't for one thing. Training and staff knowledge. I recently went to another local Firebirds and I had asked the waitstaff and front of house manager a couple of questions about their steaks. All the answers I received were incorrect. I know they were incorrect because their corporate executive chef and I had previously chatted about it. When I contacted Firebirds about this the GM of this located invited be back. When I went to this location I asked the same questions and I still did not received the correct answers. So, clearly Firebirds has some systemic issues with their training program. Ultimately this could have negatively affected my experience but since I already knew more that the staff did, it did not. So, here, today, I have to give 4 star. Better training would have gotten them a 5 star. I spoke with the GM of this location at the time of my visit. He was fully engaged and did not hesitate to take ownership of his staff's training and knowledge and assured me that they will do better moving forward. From our friendly conversation, I believe him. Maybe I will try a Firebird location in Richmond in another six months and ask the same questions. Let see if their training improves. As a previous customer of Firebirds I was happy to see the opening of the Hull St Grill. The service was great, the atmosphere friendly and the menu was eclectic. But... the prices were outrageous. Las Vegas prices for drinks, appetizers, and meals. Be warned, it's going to pricey. read more

Not sure if this was just a bad hand of cards, or whether you should not get takeout from this Firebirds. Had lunch there and was very good but ordered the roasted chicken with upgraded potatoes au gratin for a dinner and was very disappointed. For $30 you should not get dry chicken and potatoes that are welded together by some cheesy substance. See Ruth's Chris for real au gratin. The BBQ sauce was good but not enough to save the day. The best part of the meal by far was the included bread. No more takeout. You can't near this new location at night so eating in must be the way to go. read more

We made a reservation for a veteran's special. We were given a table right behind the hostess area. We asked for another table since the restaurant was almost empty and we're led to a booth for six people. After nearly 20 minutes without a server (three were waiting on other tables) we got up and left. There were five servers talking in a group, so no lack of help. Very disappointed. I'm really surprised this place has 4/5 stars ( I guess they hire a lot of bots to get that quota). We ate here last night, party of 12 (called and made reservations) we got one server and it was by far the worst service. How do you spend almost $500 on dinner to pass out your on food, constantly asking for more beverages and wait and wait for your server to come back to the table. Mind you this place is not big at all. It was a Tuesday evening they were not busy and we sat in the back that looked at the entire restaurant. She wasn't waiting on any other tables, just us. When we got our drinks, she made us pass them out, and same with our hot plate foods. Just no serving at all and I'm not saying we needed serving hand and foot but just a decent service and experience. It was my sisters birthday and it just put a big damper on the night. Also, this is new location so you would think their food would be on point. Food was bland, not worth the price whatsoever. I got the Durango burger, and it came out nothing like it was on the menu. This was my 2nd time here. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated, but crowded, too many tables. We were seated next to a broken table, why not remove it from the dining room? The music was too loud for a place like this. The steak was cooked well but so salty I couldn't eat it. The potato was delicious and so was the warm brownie Sunday. Went to celebrate my birthday. The service was very good. The restaurant was more casual than I expected considered the cost of the entrees. I expected flowers on the table and perhaps a little lamp. The filet minion was cooked correctly. I will say both our filets were heavily coated in salt. We really should have sent them back. We got 2 deserts with our entree and the cheesecake bites free because of my birthday. We didn't like the bread pudding at all and I usually love it. The portions were generous. Wife and I stopped in after doing some shopping at the SPTC. Host and waitress were very friendly and our order was taken quickly. After a long wait, the waitress brought us some bread and said it was on the house because orders were backed up. We later found out that everyone was getting bread the minute they placed their drink order. We both order a salad with steak (wife) and chicken (me). Salad portion was reasonable, but was extremely soggy, frozen like it had just been taken out of a freezer, and there was minimal amount of steak and chicken in our salads. Shockingly small amounts.
