Chinese New Year group, first time trying this spot -- but I've had MLBB in other cities if it's the chain... I give this 4 star. It's decent AYCE. Not my first choice of hotpot spots nearby but admittedly it is distinct so given the right tradeoffs it can be the right choice. It's a massive space. They do skewers and are presentation-wise more "luxury". They have some unique offerings but the best distinction are the hot side orders -- all of them were decent but we really enjoyed the brown sugar rice cake as an incredible dessert. Ordered so many of those haha
Was able to stop in here and try their hot pot. There is a separate front section for seating as you walk in, but I recommend sitting in the back if you can as you'll be closer to the serving area for items and skewers. The hot pot itself is a bit lower in the table than other spots, and you only get a ladle without tongs. The skewers were interesting and could be good if you're newer to hot pot. The selection was overall pretty good with lots of standard items you will want in your broth. Different pieces of meat, fish, pork, etc. and many veggies. I prefer a buffet style where you can take as you need rather than the serving bowls. Overall it is fairly good with a few quirks mentioned. It's clean inside and has fresh food for your hot pot, and the price is okay for all you can eat. Thanks
I am obsessed with this place and will definitely be revisiting on cold nights in the future! There are so many toppings to try out and the sauce stations have everything you could possibly want. The traditional spicy broth had quite a kick so we asked for the most mild version along with the pork bone broth so that we could try both a spicy and non spicy broth. Staff was super friendly and cleaned up used containers quickly and often. Also I loved the rectangular bowls--they are perfect for eating hot pot. I also didn't get to take a picture of it but the crispy pork (order it directly with wait staff) is so so good as well.
Was excited to check out this new hotpot place. Overall, it was a fine experience but I do think they have some kinks to work out. To start with the positives: There are a LOT of skewer options and they're so easy to grab for the table. Good mixture of classic beef options with some interesting prepared beef/vegetable skewers. And lots of non-meat options and easy to grab noodle dishes, as well. They're pretty attentive at refilling this. The sauce bar is good, pretty standard but I was able to make a pretty tasty sauce I was proud of. The two meat options to order were fine-pretty standard (1 beef cut & 1 lamb cut). There certainly aren't as many cuts as other places (the skewer beef really isn't the same as slices of beef at traditional hot pot locations) but you can certainly get your full for a reasonable weekday price. And the two broths we got were fair: the mushroom and traditional spicy (it is much spicier than I anticipated). Shout out to the fried lobster roll skewer as this was a really surprise. Some other things need a bit of work. There was a tiny wait but I'm not sure why as half of the restaurant was empty. There was seemingly one waitress for the four/five tables in the back where we were and it took a lot of work to get her attention for things like a ladle, water, or more napkins. Also, the ambience is a little rundown and I'm not sure if that's just because they don't know where to put things yet or what (like random refrigerators or carts strewn about). Finally, this may just be because of the nature of skewers, but the pot itself was very sunken into the table and somewhat difficult to grab out of despite them giving fairly length chopsticks. They had baskets you could use for the hotpot but do wish that tongs were an option, too. It was a nice try and maybe will be a better option in a few months but would probably choose to revisit some of the other options nearby next time.
Service was INCREDIBLE, did not have to ask for a single thing, constantly refilling, clearing plates, refilling pot. Such a wide variety of food with all sides, skewers, veggies, sauces included for all you can eat. Insanely good deal for $37. Restaurant was beautifully decorated and everything was impeccably clean.
Amazing selection of skewers and really good value! Weekday lunches are $24.99 AYCE here. Along with the skewers and other ingredient options, they have a small selection of appetizers (peanuts, fruits, shrimp chips, etc), brown sugar jelly, and a decent sauce bar. As a massive fan of all Asian jelly desserts, the jelly was the main sell for me. However, be careful about the spice level if your spice tolerance isn't great - we got "less" (options were mild, less, medium, extra) and it was still quite spicy. I recommend doing a split pot and getting one spicy and one non spicy broth! All in all I will absolutely be back here, if not for the delicious selection and amazing value then for the unlimited jelly haha.
If you guys love hot pot like I do, or this may be your first experience, you have to check out @mlbb_hotpot on Arch Street in Philadelphia's China Town. I've had a lot of the hot pots in my general South Jersey area and a few in the Philly area, but this may be my favorite thus far. My spicy broth was the perfect combo of heat and bold flavors that I expect in a hot pot broth. The sauce bar has everything you need to make a great dip, and the meat/seafood/veggie self-serve wall is extensive. It's so convenient to grab it yourself and just dunk the skewers in your broth. I absolutely loved seeing how many skewers we dropped in our bucket too. Hot pot is a really fun experience, and I am eager to come back again soon!
This is a newly opened restaurant in Chinatown. I saw a reel about them and wanted to give them a try. I believe they are a franchise from China. Parking: The restaurant doesn't have its own parking lot. It is either street parking or park at nearby parking garages. Service: The waitress was on top of it. Once anything gets empty out, she would come right by to clear up the table space. Stop by frequently to see if you need anything. Pays close attention when you seem like you needed something. I didn't have a bowl or spoon to try out the soup base, right away the waitress brought them over. I have long hair, right away the waitress brought over a hair tie and ask if I needed it. Food: Everything is pretty much self service. You get your sauce from the sauce bar. All the food and skewers are across from the sauce bar. There are many, and i mean many, varieties to choose from. My husband and I did a split pot with one free pork bone soup base and a paid $7.99 fish maw soup base. That fish maw soup base was gooood!! At least I feel worth paying for. The only problem we have was we got a little confused by the menu when we're choosing our soup base. Took us a little time and Q&A with the waitress. And there are plenty of food on the menu that are basically self served in the back. We didn't even have to look over the entire menu. Overall, it is a good meal and I am definitely full. Food coma! Will I come back? Possibly. But I might question if I want to bring my young kids here because I'm afraid they might play and mess with the sharp skewer sticks that are on the table. But definitely a nice lunch date I had.
This place has been open for a few months and I finally had time to try, me and my friends went there did the all you can eat package, the broth was very flavorful especially the tomato one, would definitely go there again for the broth. They also provide personal pot for those who doesn't like to share, there are a good selection of food and sauces on the buffet table, just make sure you don't waste too much food( for those who doesn't know they do charge by weight if you have a lot of untouched food at the end)and it's not gonna be pretty.
Very cute concept inside and very decorated. We came here for my dad's birthday with a party of 7 and the experience was OK. First off, 90 minutes for 7 people is defintely not enough especially since we all had to share one huge pot. The hotpot skewer concept is fun but I think its very complicated with 7 people trying to share one pot. I also gave them the cake to store in the fridge when being seated with the expectations to be able to cut it at the resturant and at the end when we finished eating and asked for the cake, they told us that we are not allowed to cut the cake and did not allow outside food. The food was good, the few items that stood out to me were the golden lava fish balls and mochi fish tofu. They had a buffet selection for majority of the hotpot items and we can order some of the meats on the menu with the host. They had fruits and desserts at the buffet.
On April 26 my husband and I were visiting Philadelphia and stumbled upon MLBB Hotpot. We had never experienced Hot pot. It was quite an experience. It was a self-serve restaurant with a variety of meats, vegetables, and sauces. Our amazing waitress Nini walked us through every aspect of selecting the right soup base, meats, and sauces. We opted for a half mild and half spicy, soup base, selected our meats and sauces, and proceeded to cook our meats by immersing them in the soups. Nini went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations by providing excellent customer service, which enhanced our experience. The service, the quality of the meats, and the atmosphere of the restaurant will ensure we return to MLBB Hot spot whenever visiting Philadelphia. Thank you, Nini, for making our experience amazing!
Extremely casual and you can't go wrong with all you can eat. I was confused where to find the soy sauce but it's part of the sauces and fruit situated in the back where the skewers are found. The service is prompt and friendly. My only suggestion is to offer an individual pot per person as an option. read more

We came here on a Monday evening and there was no wait! There is a ton of different options for things to put in the hot pot (mushrooms, tofu, skewers, veggies, noodles, etc) and non alcoholic drinks are included in the AYCE. We ate a ton of food and stayed for a really long time and enjoyed our time! The inside is pretty big and the bathrooms are clean. read more

Great experience at MLBB! Service was quick and everyone was nice. Decent selection of meats to choose from. I did really like the classic spicy broth. The skewers were kinda bouncing around the broth a lot, interesting experience, but not the worst thing. read more
