The ambiance inside can be described as family friendly and good for small groups of 2-4. We did have to wait a little bit for the table, but service was quick once we were inside the restaurant. The menu had a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian noodle and rice dishes. I'd definitely recommend trying a noodle dish as they're known for hand pulling the noodles. We ordered a seaweed salad and mixed veggies with tofu (rice and noodles). All of the dishes were seasoned well, priced appropriately for the portions, and were good for sharing. Still one of my favorite place to get noodle soup. The broth is so flavorful, if you can take the spice I always recommend to add the extra for Szechuan spice $ it's worth the money imo. I get the veggie a tofu and it's so filling. I always have leftovers. If you can't decide between knife shave or hand drawn , you can't go wrong. But go for knife for more of a chewy bite or hand drawn for more of the ramen / straight noodle type of bite ! read more

The noodles were actually pretty tasty, not greasy or oily and spiced just right (we got mild but it still had a slight kick). However, I felt like I could smell something fishy in them so was slightly put off. The sesame tofu had good flavor but the sauce was very gelatinous - clumped together a bit and felt gooey in a bad way, maybe too much cornstarch to thicken it? Went here with like 6 people two weeks ago. Cold damp night. When you walk in there is the pleasant smell of the herbal soups. Certainly, whetted the appetite. We weren't seated right away. Be aware that larger parties might require a bit more time to be seated. We started off with some crab rangoons. A guilty pleasure. Crispy with the imitation crab meat and a sweet and sour sauce. I'd argue it's not pretty, it's not elegant, but it does sate a need for cheese in the standard American when you're at a Chinese spot. Feel free to skip the item. I was happy with it though. The cucumbers were a tasty side dish. Refreshing and flavorful with a sweet soy sesame sauce. Definitely a good portion and perfect for sharing. Needed with the other fried appetizers we got The wings were a favorite. Deep fried, crispy, and topped with garlic and chilis. Thangs came out piping hot and tender. Hard to pass on these but after the crab Rangoon I was feeling a bit heavy so I was excited for the soup. Soup came out. The broth was warm and comforting with the herbal essence and the flavorful meaty taste. The lamb flavor permeates the dish. It's quite possible this place just became my favorite hand drawn noodle place in Chinatown. I'm a big fan of Nan Zhou. I'll always be a big fan of Nan Zhou. I forgot to specify shaved noodle so everything came handpulled noodle. I did say add Szechuan spicy to my soup which was $1.50 extra but then I didn't get it. The dragon and phoenix soup I think it's called was good. Chicken and shrimp soup hand pulled noodle was good the broth was great flavored. Comes separate with cold noodles so you gotta put it all together at home. I missed out on those toppings and cabbage thingy at the table which everyone was piling on to their soups. Got gyoza which of course unfortunately came a bit soggy and chewy. Pain of take out I guess. The dumpling sauce that came with it was tasty Got the triple delight chicken, shrimp, pork- which I meant to say shaved but forgot so that came hand drawn noodle too. Delicious. Were there being so many options for restaurants in the Chinatown area, I was interested to try this place out because of their hand pulled noodle options. My neighbor and I decided to both try hand pulled noodles, I did mine with shrimp and she did the vegetable option. I was happy to also see that they had a veggie sauce option for those that don't do meat. Spice C was a very nice experience for us. We were just wandering around China town and decided to pop in for dinner on a Sunday night. My wife got the sesame chicken. She was disappointed you couldn't do a side of fried rice but the chicken was cooked perfectly nice crispy crunch to it and the sauce had good flavor. I had the treasure stir fry with the hand pulled noodles this was great, I loved the flavors and there was a solid amount of meats shrimp were kinda small, but the noodles were the star of the show best noodles in an Asian dish I've had. Both were a 10/10. Cooked to perfection, great texture and very flavorful. I could've ate the entire dish! For entrees, I tried the house special(medium spice) hand drawn noodles and the 3 treasure stir fried noodles. My medium spice noodle soup was spicy! I loved adding the complimentary pickles to my dish to help balance the meal. Noodles were perfection! The broth was hearty and the ideal thing to eat on a cold day. I realized I'm not the biggest fan of tendon, so I will choose a different protein next time. The stir fried noodles were also very tasty! Not spicy at all so added some chili oil to it. Spice C is a popular restaurant in Chinatown that is known for their hand-drawn noodles and other traditional Chinese dishes in a rather small, but comforting setting. The servers are pretty attentive and quick. I ordered the Wonton Soup, specifically with the hand-drawn noodles, and the Crab Cheese Rangoon. The Crab Cheese Rangoon was super delicious! It was very warm when it came out and it had the perfect amount of filling inside; the sauce, which I believe was sweet and sour or a sweet chili, was also good. I will say that I am not a big Chinese noodles gal just because I do not really like the spices and flavors that are in those dishes, such as star anise. With that being said, I ordered the Wonton Soup and I did not like it a lot, but that is on me for the dish I picked knowing my taste buds. However, the wontons were pretty juicy and savory. I've been here multiple times and have no complaints regarding service. The noodles though! Definitely the best noodles in Chinatown, from what I've tried at least. They charge an extra 4% for card payments, so it's better to bring cash. They have so many noodle soup and stir fry noodle options. We ordered the dumplings (boiled and fried), wonton soup, Three Treasures noodle soup, and Three Treasures stir fry. - The dumplings were good. The skin was just the right thickness, and there was a good amount of filling. There were only 6 pieces, but they were pretty big. - The won ton soup was okay. It came with 4 large wontons. The broth was light and refreshing, but the wontons themselves were just okay. I couldn't taste much of the pork filling, and the skin was a bit too thick for my liking. - The hand pulled noodles were chewy and not too thick, which I like. The Three Treasures stir fry dish was delicious. My friend who got the noodle soup version of the Three Treasures noodles seemed to have a bit more beef. They charge an extra ~$1.75 for the mala soup base. Between the hand-pulled noodle soups at Nan Zhou and the ones at Luscious Dumplings, we liked the noodle soup here the best. The broth here was richer than the broth at Nan Zhou, and the noodles were less doughy than the noodles at Luscious Dumplings. I saw some comparisons between this place and Nan Zhou, and I personally would come here over Nan Zhou. I was in the mood for some shaved noodles this week so we came to Spice C. My boyfriend wanted pork dumplings too - and wow those were really great. Def order these. I got the roast duck noodle soup w shaved noodles and it was huge and came w plenty of meat - I am a spice wimp so the server told me to not get the spicy broth and get the regular broth --which I enjoyed. My bf got the fish noodle soup w the spicy stock and he really loved it. I tried a spoonful of his and it was too spicy for me so I made the right choice. His soup came w sooo much fish. I really don't understand the hype around this place. I tried their sliced beef noodle soup in hot schezuan sauce. The broth itself was flavorful but the noodles, although fresh, seemed to lack flavor. My husband got the stir fry noodles with beef which was quite bland. The service was good- menu questions answered, dietary accommodations made, water refilled, food came pretty quickly. I got the hand-drawn noodles with shrimp. It was a lot of noodles and enough shrimp. I was disappointed, however, because I asked if the dish came with vegetables in it and was told it did. The vegetables on my plate consisted of a few scallions and shreds of carrot, maybe a bean sprout or two. That's not what I had in mind and would have ordered differently had I known. Spice C is an iconic staple in Chinatown. I've been coming here since I was a kid and they haven't really changed much. The hand drawn noodles are made fresh and you can see the chefs in the kitchen making them. The soup is flavorful and packed with ingredients. The meat is super tender. My favorite bowl is the 3 treasures that have chicken, pork, and shrimp as I enjoy the variety. I also appreciate the huge container of pickled cabbage, I'm an absolute fiend for them.
