I have used Mike at MLS Landscape several times. He always exceeds my expectations ! This time he removed a large amount of overgrown landscape and replaced it. He suggested reusing the ledge stones from one area and used it as a border. He did not just put the ledge stone as a border, he made an inground foundation to mortar the stones in place and keep the grass from crawling under the border and into the beds. I was thinking I needed a landscape architect to layout the beds. Mike looked at the house features and came up with a great selection and layout of plants. Was in the market for sprinkler system for new construction and contacted multiple companies for quotes. MLS was one the few that came out and actually looked at the property and was knowledgeable and seems to know what they were doing. Even gave some input about the lawn and how I should contact the construction company about the lack of drainage from the back. Great first impression (prompt service, great customer service prior to installation, and knowledgeable staff with reasonable quote for the job). Why am I leaving a one star rating (if possible I would leave neg stars)? Once they have completed the project don't except any follow up customer service. It's one and done. I have tried to get a receipt for the work done as well as layout map since the installation was completed to no avail. I left phone messages on his cell phone as well as the office and left numerous emails. I even had additional work that needed to be done (ran over one the sprinkler heads with mower as well as issues with freezing) and still no call (probably because I didn't specially say I needed more work). It's great service prior to you pay then it's like no one wants to answer. Don't bother expecting anything after installation from them cause it's nonexistent. Bottom line. They are great when you first meet them to get a quote (knowledgeable and eager to please), prompt, and do a great job but don't expect anything afterwards cause they will disappear and will not answer any emails/phone calls. They lost my business and I will never ever deal with this company again. PS. I always read yelp reviews but I didn't check this company prior to hiring them. I have worked with Mike and his MLS Landscaping crew on numerous occasions. He has installed a French drain, complete landscaping around a pool, planted three large oak trees and I have him out at least yearly to trim and maintain all of the landscaping. Mike has never missed a deadline, leaves the property clean and his crew's work is top notch. He provides detailed written quotes for every project and if there is a need to deviate from the original plan he lets you know ahead of time. No surprises with MLS Landscaping. We contacted Mike at MLS about a french drain that needed repair. He was very informative when he visited for a quote and had some great ideas on how to improve the system and actually lower the costs. His crew came out and completed the job in one day and it looks great. You have to look hard to see where they trenched and re-laid sod. We also had them do some tree trimming and removal while on site. This was well done and all the debris etc was cleaned and removed. We are very happy with MLS and will sue them for any future work. read more

My experience is completely opposite of other reviews. I strongly suggest not to use this company. The owner, Mike Schroder, refused to meet with us after we pointed out out the sloppy resetting of moss stones in backyard by his workers. Sorry I'm unable to post pictures. I put a stop payment on check to get his attention after he ignored us. In hopes of him responding as a good business person would, coming back to resolve the issues. Instead he became very angry and insulting. Again tried to negotiate a fair settlement. Not once did he acknowledge any poor work by his workers, even with the pictures clearly showing the issues. We paid him fair amount for crushed granite, soil and some labor. His men changed level of front stones when they reset. Instead of letting us know they needed to buy more stones to complete the leveling of the bed.... they left a big gap. What reputable landscape company would do this??? We were easily available to him. Since completion of work I have discovered moss stones his men buried in bed. My conclusion is they did not reset the stones correctly and ended up with extras. So they covered up. I noticed in corner of front bed a section was not receiving water. A sprinkler in front bed has been mostly covered by a stone. I emailed the discoveries to Mike with no reply. I am only responsible for trusting this owner would do good work. I did not look closely when workers were finished. Hard lesson I learned. I told Mike I know he can do good work. He didn't perform well at our home. read more

I am beyond pleased with how good my yard looks! Never better! I met with Mike at MLS and wanted some stone to surround current landscaping. The crew worked hard, got it done fast, cleaned up like you never knew they were there and left a great looking yard behind. I would highly recommend them. read more

Happy with the quality of the work but disappointed on communication of what activities and of add ons. Worked with Mike to decrease the cost of the initial quote only to be given an updated quote after the work was done for nearly 10% ($2500) increase because of "changes". Only 1 change was only communicated during the job and approved. The finish quality of the job was poor, bricks, concrete, and missing grass was left and it was extra to have the job left in a finished condition. For the high price of the job, expectation are that it is turn key but this was not the case. Communication was sparse, mostly over emails and very difficult to get timely communication back. Contractor damaged property, it was repaired but the initial damage was not communicated back to me when it occurred, I got to come home and find it. Then called, texted with no response and finally got response back to an email hours later that Mike was already aware. During discussion on why there was such a large increase over the initial quote, Mike commented that we were "privileged" (used that exact word) pointing out different aspects of our home, thus insinuating that we should be able to just pay the overage.
