I haven't been to this Mo Cha in ages, I think since they first opened. Staff: friendly and helpful as we were figuring out what was dairy free for a friend. Drink: I just got a regular milk tea with half sweet. The drink was the worst drink I've ever had. There was no tea flavor and I actually had no idea what I was drinking. It was also sweet in a really weird way. I only drank a few sips and I couldn't finish it. I usually don't waste drinks and this is the second time where I couldn't handle a drink. Unique | Good tea We had a wonderful first time coming here with our toddler. I like the interior, it's bright and fresh (and clean). The menu is unique-- brick toast?! YES, please! We ordered the s'more n more brick toast in mini size. Wow, my husband and I split that and full after having boba tea with it too. My toddler had a few bites of it. Presentation is great and I love that item on the menu. It's one way to beat the summer heat and something to look forward to that makes this place stand out from the rest. I love bubble tea and smoothies and this restaurant has a great variety of delicious dishes.

Stopped in after running errands for a milk tea and a snack today - we used to frequent this place a lot and thought it was really good. Today was a completely different experience - the spot was pretty empty, only one other party besides us, but the wait to order and for our order was long. The wait here was always pretty long though, so though it was more, that wasn't a huge issue. Just know if you go it probably won't be quick. The big difference was the menu and the flavors. The menu was completely different than our last visit and super small - seemed to be about half the options across the board and some new zero fruit tea situation taking over. In fact, while they have super cute cups with little heart stoppers, it appears they're now just on display and they are using much smaller cups that feature that "zero" branding. Price seemed about the same though. What Milk tea choices are now pretty much just the basics. The fun brick toast combos are now down to just 2 options and a seasonal one. The Jasmine milk tea I got was so bitter, it was difficult to drink and I actually am not averse to bitter flavors. The rainbow jelly, super rubbery and without any flavor. For these reasons I did not mind the smaller cup . The popcorn chicken had the great flavor of the seasoning, but was all pieces of very poor quality meat - fatty, in some cases cartilaginous. My husband says his tea was fine, the two types he likes best are no longer on the menu and he tried the brown sugar milk tea. Lastly, I don't know if this place is under a remodel or is in some form of operation disarray, but the stockroom seemed to be spilling out into the restaurant, pallets of supplies stacked everywhere and caution cones. All to be said, the new menu is not our thing, and the quality today didn't compensate, so we won't be back. However, my hope is for those that do enjoy the menu or try it in the future that the place is going through something temporary like a remodel and it was just a rough one-off. read more

The shop was empty except for one customer who was waiting for their order. There were 2 girls working and they looked like young teenagers. One girl was making a drink and the other was at the cash register, tapping on the screen. NOT A SINGLE GREETING OR ANY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM ANY OF THEM. It was dead silent. They didn't even LOOK at me. It was as if I didn't exist. I was waiting patiently for the girl at the register to take my order. She completely ignores me and runs off to the back. I understand they may have been busy, but at least say, "Welcome in! I will be with you in a bit." They couldn't even say hello??? I waited a couple more minutes and the girl never came back. And the girl making a drink didn't say anything either. Annoyed and frustrated, we just walked out and went to a different business that was way more welcoming. Please educate your staff on how to properly greet customers and basic manners. It was disappointing and I don't plan on giving this place another chance. read more

Between the two boba options in this neighborhood I pick Mo Cha. Their milk teas are not too decadent or sweet(iykyk this considered a huge compliment for sweet indulgences). Some boba spots are so dairy heavy and creamy which is too much for my aging taste. I adjust the sweetness level to 50% so make sure you do that if you don't want an overly sugary drink. read more

Was unsure what to try for the first time. I was stuck between ordering a Jasmine Milk Tea or Oolong Milk Tea, two of my absolute favorite milk teas. I went with the Oolong Milk Tea and ordered 50% sweetness as they had a scale of: 0%, 50% or 100%. At other places I usually opt for the lowest amount of sweetness which is usually 20% or 30% but here it was 50%. I also ordered it with 0% ice as again they didn't have 20% or 30% ice which I usually go with. And I didn't want half my drink to be ice as that seems like WAYYYY too much ice? Or is that just me? Haha. I also noticed that they didn't have a good range of non-dairy milk alternatives like coconut milk or oat milk. Instead they only had soy milk. Then they had an original option which the server explained meant whole milk and they had creamer too which was half and half. I decided to go for that. I got it with boba pearls too. Next time, I may try it with soy milk. The drink was actually huge, as you can see from the photo and I was pleased to see that. Good price, too. They didn't have a loyalty system, which would've been nice! Maybe something they can implement? The taste of the drink was amazing. The oolong was brewed super strongly and it was very rich tasting. Probably the strongest oolong milk tea, I've tried! The milk added a creamy touch to it and the sweetness was great too, although at first it threw me off a teeny tiny bit. I wish they had a better sliding scale as 50% sweetness is still a bit too high for my liking. Please have 20% or 30% sweetness as an option! Then the drink would be perfect. The bobas were not too soft and not too chewy and hard. So they were great too! I loved the rich, roasted taste of the oolong, mhmmm! Desert for breakfast! As it was my birthday and my best friends know my weakness - French toast, sweets. They killed it with this recommendation! I love the combo of presentation and tastiness. Watching this beauty be prepared built up a craving for it. The seating areas were closed due to COVID but pickup (they'll let you wait inside out of the cold/rain) and delivery within that area still available. However, I wish someone warned me about the size. I should of pick the smallest size. It was heartbreaking to see it melt away before my second stomach could kick in . The tea was okay. I can't believe I lived down the street from this place for two years and just now checked this place out. I thought it was just another hot tea place. So, finally, I looked up the place. It's so not just another hot tea place! They have plenty of bubble tea options. And some that I don't normally see in other shops. What caught my attention was the desserts! Just look at the pictures of these monstrosities! They're huge! My two kids and I shared the S'mores n More brick toast. And we were all full. There's no way any single person can finish one of those on their own, so please bring a friend to share! I can't wait to return to try their shaved ice cream. I visited Taiwan last year and am hoping it is somewhat reminiscent of the shaved ice seen in night markets. There's nothing quite like it. They also serve some snacks - we got the sweet potato fries and popcorn chicken...the popcorn chicken seasoning reminds me of the ones that they use at the night market (now I just need to find out the secret seasoning blend). Lacks customer service. Music is blaring, the blender is going, and the gal taking orders speaks barely above a whisper. I asked her to repeat herself about 5x. Maybe she lost her voice?? Or maybe she doesn't understand the ambiance and environment isn't good for whispers. This is a cute spot near Big Al's in Beaverton. Their brick toast is good for sharing, but if you want a small portion just for yourself, you can get the $3 "giant" toast and add ice cream and fruit to that for another $2 instead. The shaved snow cream was a little overwhelming to order if you've never had it before and unsure of which combination would be good. I ended up ordering the original milk snow, added condensed milk topping (thinking it'd be like the snow cap on regular shave ice), and rainbow jellies. It wasn't a great combo so it'd be great if they had recommended combinations added to their menu board. Reception in the store is non existent so you have to connect to their free wifi. I think this will be a popular spot for kids during the summer. Cute little place right near Big Al's bowling center. We got the matcha shaved ice with red bean and condensed milk and Mochi. The shaved ice here is shaved into giant thick ribbons which tend to stick together on the plate but the flavor payoff is good and not too sweet. We also got a jasmine milk tea and a matcha milk tea. The milk teas here are true to the word 'tea' because the drinks were not too sweet and you can definitely taste the tea. I liked it. Overall for three items 19$ for three people wasn't too bad. Went there because the reviews were good for the milk tea but the flavor was honestly horrible and not like any brown sugar milk tea I've had before. The tea almost tasted perfumey and like chemicals. The only thing that saved it was the tapioca boba but there was very little in the drink even after having to pay an extra charge just for boba in the drink. If you're craving Asian style desserts, this place has got you covered. Although the this isn't my favorite bubble tea place, they are sold. I've seen some reviews that have been pretty critical in a few areas, so I'll give my take. 1) "The servers were not friendly" My experience: Service was pretty standard. They didn't knock me out with kindness (but I also don't walk into a place expecting that). They took my order and were able to answer questions about the menu. 2) "The menu is confusing" My experience: Not really. I've been to bubble tea/shave ice places before, and I don't see much of a difference between places (or Starbucks for that matter). Items are broken down by type. All of the shave ice are together, the snacks are together, the teas are together, etc. 3) "The menu is too expensive" My experience: $4-5 per drink.... Pretty similar to Starbucks and most other bubble tea places. Tack on the nice interior and free wifi.... I wouldn't say Mocha is noticeably more pricey. Overall, they have a nice tea (and snack) selection in a great area. I recommend bringing in a book and ordering a drink and spicy popcorn chicken while you chill out an hour or 2. If you aren't sure about things like taro, ask... Or better yet try it. You might just find your new favorite drink. Enjoy! read more

Some of the things probably look for in trying a new boba spot (or most new restaurants for that matter): friendly service, attentive wait staff, fast service, knowledgeable workers, fresh ingredients, right amount of sweetness, soft/chewy textured boba, expansive menu are some of the first that come to mind. I believe they did use fresh ingredients in some of their menu items. But aside from that, there wasn't another area that they did well in. The boba itself had hard centers, like they were old or just prepared wrong. The drink itself had no flavor, and this was at 100% sweetness. Servers were slow and disinterested in the customers. They were also rude when a customer asked about their order. The person making my drink had no idea what she was doing - she had to ask a coworker and seemed to constantly looking at some cheat sheet to figure out what ingredient to add in next. I would say they get ZERO stars for everything, and then bumped up to 1 star for the fresh fruit. If you're in this immediate area, I would say to avoid this place and go to the newer tea spot right across the street by Garden Bar. Many people don't know about that place yet, but it's a million times better, the drinks and the service. read more

This place is horrible!! I guess the best thing they have going for them is the lack of competition in the immediate Progress Ridge area. But do yourself a favor -- save your time and money, or make the extra drive to the next closest place. For starters, the service is horrible. There were six people in the place when we went (not crowded at all), and all six were waiting for their blended drink... and it was another 5 minutes after we got there that I heard the first blender turn on. Not sure if only one person is trained in "blender" and was perhaps on break, but literally nobody's order was being worked on. Now on to the product -- of the four drinks we ordered, three were mediocre at best; the fourth one was an avocado smoothie. Got to the car before tasting it, and it literally tasted like nothing. Absolutely no flavor beyond a subtle hint of avocado... but it mostly tasted like blended ice and milk; no sweetness whatsoever. My daughter goes back in to say to the server that the drink has no flavor, thinking perhaps that they made it wrong. The response she gets - "we put two scoops of sugar, that's how it's made." Whether or not they actually put any sugar is doubtful (but I get it - anytime you're using real ingredients, which is the case with the avocado smoothie, you can't always predict the sweetness). But I would expect that any respectable food establishment who takes pride in their product or who values their customers, would be willing to remake it or offer a refund; or at the very least just offer to add more sweetener and re-blend. Clearly, this place doesn't take pride in their product and doesn't value their customers. Well this customer will never be back, and I will detract as many people from going as well, including to their other location, which is right next door to where my kids take dance classes. On a sidenote, I'm glad to see the greater Beaverton area sprouting up more milk tea establishments. Hopefully it will soon be saturated with consumer choice and the poor examples (read as: this place) will be weeded out, as they should! read more

It's a shame, that a business sets policies that make zero sense. My wife and I used to frequent this business quite a bit, but since we're not always together, sometimes I'm using my frequent tea card, and she's using hers. Imagine my shock when I was told that we could not use the stamps from her card with the stamps from mine. This makes zero sense. The excuse the staff gave was that it prevents people from 'sharing cards' (not sure how that negatively affects their business since it's the same amount of money anyway, but go figure). So if I have three stamp cards, they're saying I have to fill each of those individual cards up with 10 stamps in order to redeem them. I can't have one with 7 and one with 3 and combine them. This is about as :epic facepalm: as you can get. I cannot in good faith support a business with such a silly policy. Their tea isn't bad, but it's not worth being ripped off. There's a new tea house opening up within walking distance of this one, maybe they'll show more common sense (or common sense period), and not impose such a ridiculous policy. If you go out of business Mo Cha, you'll at least have one reason why because at least one customer will spend their money elsewhere. read more

I live close by and come here regularly. My usual to go drinks is Oolong Milk Team, Matcha Milk Tea with Strawberry, or Thai Hazelnut Thai Tea. All is very good and is nice switching around the 3. MOST of them already know what I get already, so that's how often I come here xD The staff is really friendly and welcoming. We walked in and the store was open but the people behind the counter were not ready. Another thing was that the boba would not be ready for some time so we decided to get two hot teas without milk. They use the tea that is already made and it is heated through a machine. I tried both of the teas we ordered and both of them were so bitter that they should not have been served. Neither of us could finish them and I have never left that much tea before. If the boba was ready our experience might have been better. Sadly, it was not ready when they opened. The two young women behind the counter were nice and professional but I'm not sure how the two of them have no idea that BOTH of the teas we ordered were so bitter. It's overpriced for milk tea and if you want tapioca you have to pay an extra $.50. Got the taro milk tea with tapioca and I thought it was gritty, substandard milk, and the tapioca pearls were on the harder side. Yo. Is Mo Cha some sort of hip-hop name that's supposed to sound like "Mocha"? The name reminds me of: Will.I.Am - "William" Flo Rida - "Florida" Eminem - "Chocolate candy" Well, John NY (eh...eh?!) is here to proclaim that this place is indeed amazeballs. The star of the show was the honey/brick toast...a gorgeous castle of sweetness. Our special brick toast wonderland fortress consisted of: - Asian flat top bread (buttered and honeyed) - Oreo ice cream (2-3 scoops) - Mochi (2 flavors) - Wafer sticks - Whipped cream - Macarons - Strawberries - Caramel Whoa Nelly. (Also a hip-hop artist.) The matcha/green tea shaved ice w/condensed milk (pairs well with the ice cream) and azuki beans was huge. Be prepared to share. The avocado smoothie was surprisingly creamy and not super sweet like the ones I've had in Vietnamese restaurants. THEY ALSO HAVE A NUMBERING SYSTEM NOW! Wut. So next time you're rolling through the hood (of Tigard), I'd highly recommend a stop here. I'm definitely going to try the bubble tea. Tables are still on the dirty side.
