My biggest complaint and the reason for the less than stellar review was the garbage smell that permeated the area. I tried relocating to three different tables to escape it. I found out about Food Truck Fridays in front of Canal Place not long ago via Instagram and this Friday, I saw that Dirty Dishes would be there. Since I had yet to try them, I figured why not! It was more of a brunchy lunchy fest so I was a total fan. I can eat breakfast any time of day. There were a few of their well-known specialties on the menu such as the dirty mac and cheese and BBQ shrimp and grits, but I wanted to try something a little sweeter. I originally wanted the Praline Chicken and Waffle Sandwich but they were all out! My next choice were the Hot Sausage Stuffed Waffles, which I am SO glad I chose. These were huge, soft Belgian waffles with crispy outsides and warm, spicy hot sausage-filled insides. A TOTAL flavor punch. The praline glaze was much like a light syrup that was just the right amount of sweet. The powdered sugar touch was a nice addition. Truthfully, all I needed on the side was a mimosa (or 3) to make this into the perfect brunch. We had; The MUNCH - smoked Gouda Mac and cheese with crawfish, turkey Tasso & BBQ pulled pork over a garlic buttered waffle. ( SOOO much flavor going on here!) The DIRTY FLORENTINE - creamed spinach with 5 blended cheeses with shrimp over a garlic buttered waffle. (My personal favorite- absolutely divine!!) The DIRTY WHODAT- praline pecan sauce over waffle. ( I had a bit of someone else's and if you like praline, you'll love this!) Now don't get me wrong, I understand that they were giving a huge to go order in the mobile order line, and we're busy, but when you go to Chick-fil-A, you expect that someone at least says good morning or acknowledges your present and doesn't just walk in front of your car and around it several times without even saying hi to you. The food is the food, it's Chick-fil-A. You're either going to like it, which many people do or tolerate it, which is where I fall, with the exception of the breakfast burrito. They're not over the top fantastic. They're not horrible, they are just okay.
