Coffee is always top knotch here. I commend this person that's doing everything by themselves. Ambiance is very simple and to the point. Will be back again soon

I ordered the Cafe de Olla ($6.75 - medium - iced - regular milk). This is weak coffee. I continued to feel sleepy after its consumption. It's a harmless, boring drink. It tastes like powdery milk tea. I arrived at Mobar Coffee (Montebello) on Thursday (around 12:33PM). It's located inside the Montebello Mall (aka: "The Shops at Montebello"). This small business is on the 2nd floor. It's across Macy's, and it sits besides Kay Jewelers. Nearby parking is plentiful and simple. Staff is friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Staff greeted me with a smile, and staff eagerly explained their menu's options. Staff appeared well-informed and diligent. I ordered the Cafe de Olla ($6.75). The drink was ready in three minutes. Fairly quick. As mentioned, the Cafe de Olla ($6.75 - medium - iced - regular milk) did not taste bad. It's just unmemorable. I'd compare its flavor to milk tea. It had a chill milk & powder taste with a weak caffeine kick. Unfortunately, this Cafe de Olla borders on the edge of bland. On ambiance, I appreciate the attempt by Mobar Coffee (Montebello). The location has six round tables labelled "Mobar." Surprisingly, these tables are near electrical outlets. There's about three electrical outlets for electronic devices by these tables which is a monumental achievement for a generic mall vendor. Mobar Coffee (Montebello) is also conveniently located beside the Kids Play Area which allows families to take a breather from their busy kiddos if searching for a light rest. The location is also relatively clean and well-ventilated since it's in a well-maintained mall. Overall, Mobar Coffee (Montebello) offers adequate drinks. Its drinks are fairly standard and affordable, but it's not remarkable. It's a possible option if meandering nearby. 4 out of 5

Café de olla late and strawberry lemonade

Amazing coffee. I wasn't expecting it to be this good. We arrived early to the mall and decided to grab a coffee while I waited for the stores to open. I ordered the cafe de olla late and a strawberry lemonade. Both were perfectly made. Strawberry ke made is the perfect amount of sweet and refreshing. The cafe de olla late was smooth and creamy. Service was great and fast. It's a mall coffee shop so it's open space . No tables really but the mall has some.

I tried the cafe de olla foam cold brew and it was delicious! The flavor was perfect and not too sweet! The girl working at the counter was very sweet and patient with all my questions! It is in the mall so there is no place to sit

Wow! Tasty! My work got this for us and it was a great surprise!! So very tasty! I asked what was their signature drink got the hot vanilla cinnamon. Fantastic! Friendly people working there and it created a great atmosphere! I appreciate them for great service.

I've passed this place multiple times and I finally decided to come and I got a strawberry matcha, it was very sweet, tasted like vanilla and can hardly taste the matcha. Hardly tasted strawberry, it only has a couple dried strawberries on it and vanilla cold foam. Nothing strawberry matcha about it lol. The color of the matcha wasn't the best and the service was fine. I got a medium size and paid almost nine dollars for a drink that tasted bad.

Located on the second floor of the Montebello mall near forever 21, this place is a convenient coffee shop for on the go coffee while shopping since there is no seating here. The staff are nice and friendly and they made a few recommendations for my first time. I think this spot is a great alternative to Starbucks where they have the holiday speciality drinks but I would come here for high quality coffee. Parking: plenty of lot parking

Best little coffee gem. For some reason Montebello mall doesn't have any coffee options except for the Starbucks inside Macy's. I think it's so weird. So I was excited when this place opened up. I have tried the mocha latte and the horchata latte. Both are great!

Always friendly service! The coffee is roasted to perfection with a hint of sweetness. Best coffee around definitely recommend to whoever is in the area!

So there I was, just doing some innocent window shopping with my mom at the Montebello Town Center--minding my business, not looking for caffeine trouble--when BAM! I spotted a cute little coffee shop upstairs called Mobar. Naturally, I wandered in like a moth to a latte. I told the barista I wanted something that wouldn't send me into a sugar coma because, you know, I'm trying to make better life choices (or at least pretend to). She whipped up an iced vanilla latte with almond milk, two shots of espresso, and two pumps of sugar-free vanilla like she was reading my mind. (Sprinkle of cinnamon on top) It was smooth, not too sweet, and just the right amount of "I can handle my life now." Customer service? 10/10. I don't know if she was a barista or a caffeine fairy godmother, but I'll be back. Oh--and I just heard they opened a new spot inside Brewjeria in Pico Rivera? BET.... I'm already plotting my next "accidental" coffee run.

A little disappointed with my first experience. I love the seasons and LOVE seasonal drink and I was hoping to try their Strawberries and SCREAM shake because it mentioned "gummy " ... "GUMMY" eyeballs.. it did not have the gummy eyeballs I got 1 single tiny and hard eyeball.. it was really upsetting and very misleading ): I would not return because I am a little hesitant to be mislead again. The customer service was sky rocket awesome and they were very sweet and welcoming. I am just very disappointed with the misleading description

    AJ T.

Very cute. We'll run, well appointed. Efficient coffee shop. But my rating in coffee shops is based on one thing only: the taste of the coffee. I would say my cappuccino was made well, but the taste of the coffee was just below my expectations, but you should slather give it a try!

So, I've been looking for a coffee spot for my daily pick-up and I think I just found my spot! Nataly is a super star! She was super friendly and helpful and really attentive. Not that many coffee spots ask, "what is your name" and "how is your day going". Well Nataly asked BOTH. To top it off I ordered Mobar's Horchata Latte with Oatmilk and it was delicious.

I always order the matcha with 1.5 scoops of matcha, vanilla syrup, and light ice, and it's consistently perfect every single time, rich, smooth, not watered down, and clearly made with quality matcha. Friendly staff, welcoming energy, and a place that genuinely feels like it was built for the community. You never feel rushed or like just another order. Consistency, quality, and care are everything in a coffee shop, and Roam & Brew nailed all three. It's obvious how much thought goes into what they serve and how they show up for customers. Service is efficient and our drinks came out decently quickly. This was around lunch time on a Sunday. As with almost every new drink or coffee place, minimalist aesthetic and a place for people to study and catch up I suppose. Wouldn't say it's the most unique. We got the: 1) Hojicha Latte: -We got this iced and you have the option to sweeten it with simple syrup or something else. We got this with a black sesame flavor and just the standard milk that it came with. -Not too sweet, but the taste of the sesame or even the hojicha can be a bit stronger as we've had similar drinks to this that were more appealing. 2) Iced Chocolate Milk: -I mean you can't really mess this up to be honest. It's mixed well and doesn't taste scathingly sweet like a bottled chocolate milk. My boyfriend got a no sugar coffee here and it still tasted pretty sweet (like unadjusted Starbucks sweet) and it was just tossed into my chocolate milk because he couldn't stomach it. Overall, it's just okay. I'm not really a coffee person, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Seating is very limited, but the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with light music playing softly in the background. We were greeted with smiles and friendly hellos as soon as we walked in, and the employee who took our order was both knowledgeable and welcoming, happily answering questions about the coffee offerings. One thing we really appreciated was that they paired each coffee with a small sample of the dried ground beans so you could smell the aroma before taking your first sip. It was a fun and unique touch that enhanced the tasting experience. My husband's Emerald Series La Roca Sidra iced pour-over had a sweet, red wine-like aroma, while my Emerald Series Chiroso Imperial iced pour-over offered deep floral notes of jasmine and rich caramel. For food, my husband ordered the avocado mushroom open-faced toast, and I got the avocado mushroom smoked trout open-faced toast topped with cucumber, pickled red onions, and dill. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The coffees were especially memorable and showcased the care that goes into their roasting and brewing process. The only downside for us was the price. While the quality of both the food and coffee was excellent, we felt the portions were on the smaller side for what was charged. Overall, The Boy & The Bear offers delicious specialty coffee, thoughtfully prepared food, friendly service, and a chill atmosphere.
