I have been wanting to get an açaí bowl and came across this place because of how cute it looked. I got a custom 12oz bowl which was $12. You get one base and 5 free toppings. Everything tasted super fresh and the actually açaí base was delicious. One of the best açaí/smoothie places I have tried. Really good. I would recommend coming here. Employees were friendly.

We had a fantastic Açaí and blue chia seed pudding bowl and a mango colada bowl that were filled with fresh fruit and toppings that made them super yummy! Staff is super nice and helpful. I wish we could have them in Los Angeles. If you visit Portland, Oregon go to Moberi you're going to love it!

I love the creative names of the featured bowls. You can also create your own bowl fully custom. They have regular smoothies too. I was in Portland visiting for a week and literally went here every morning. Solid portions and deliciously fresh ingredients. The staff was especially friendly. I highly recommend!

I ordered a customized açaí bowl and admittedly this was not my favorite açaí bowl. I think it was açaí mix flavor but it wasn't as sweet as I had hoped for. The fruit toppings were fresh though and considering that I got this delivered, it held up well and was still mostly frozen when it got to me. I'd recommend to fill a craving. I got the large layered bowl because it was such a good deal! This is the size of 2 açaí bowls combined in one! The base was good and the fruits tasted fresh. Just what I was looking for! Moberi is an awesome option any time of year but especially on a hot Portland summer day. Healthy smoothies, acai bowls, and other options make this spot a great choice for a light breakfast or lunch. They're practicing walk-up service, masking, cleaning between customers (like crazy clean), and take away only. Who could ask for more. I highly recommend the Johnny Utah and be sure to add their "blue majik" spirulina option. Parking is all street so be prepared to walk a bit.

I usually don't do many reviews, just post photos, but this place had one of the best acai bowls I've ever had. Other places make it too sweet or watery but this place was perfect. I love that they let you do a custom bowl. Their blue chia seed pudding was so yummy! I had a custom bowl with acai sorbet, blue chia seed pudding, goji berries, granola, bananas, strawberries, pumpkin seeds, no honey. I live in Seattle and would definitely make a stop here after the 3 hour drive for this. Yes, it was that good!

You really can't beat a smoothie on a hot day can ya? I tried out the Captain Planet and it really hit the spot! If you tend to feel a bit icky about veggies in your drinks, I promise you won't be tasting any in this! It's a creamy and fruity delight!

A friend and I were in a desert called Mississippi Street on a sweltering day. Just when we were about to expire we say this bright light and went in. Thanks for saving us! Juice Springsteen is not just an awesome name but an amazing smoothie as well involving pineapple juice, dragon fruit and a pile of other yummy stuff. It was bright pink and delicious - just what I needed of a sweltering day. My friend wanted something mango so she negotiated with the counter person of sweetness. Seriously - the folks that work here are amazing and super knowledgeable about the products which is so great for newbies like us!

Sadly I've had better. The açaí was meh and just really soft, which I'm not a huge fan of. Everything kind of just melted together into a big gooey mess. Not sure if that's intentional, but I'm used to açaí being a little more on the firm side. The saving grace was the whipped coconut cream on top - that is definitely unique and tasted amazing. Also loved the honey drizzle on top since the açaí was just, I don't know, missing something. Didn't have any tang or sweetness to it. Kind of disappointing, but kind of ok. Maybe I'll try the smoothie next time. As for the açaí, I prefer Everbowl but hey at least I tried. read more

Moberi absolutely nails the thing most acai bowl places seem to miss: the base consistency. It's thick and creamy without being icy or gluey, and it actually stays that way while you eat it. You don't have to inhale your bowl in three minutes to avoid it turning into soup, nor do you get that immediate brain freeze from an over-frozen base. It holds up perfectly while sitting, which sounds like a small detail until you realize how rare it is. The toppings were fresh, the fruit tasted actually ripe, and everything felt balanced instead of overloaded with sweetness. Portland has no shortage of acai spots, but this one stands out because the fundamentals are just done really well. read more

With the smell of all the food carts nearby be sure to also check out Moberi on Mississippi. Beautiful and healthy açai bowls, smoothies, and customize your own bowls. A table or two outside if you want to enjoy but primarily just take out. You can order ahead but on a weekday lunch time it wasn't more than a 10 min wait. Smoothies and bowls can run you ~$10 which isn't the cheapest smoothie around but they're delicious. I recommend getting the peanut butter cacao. Nice balance between the chocolate and other ingredients. Great meal replacement as there's plant based protein in the smoothie. Great option for a sunny day! Drink it all on your own or share it with someone as it's definitely a savory smoothie but still super light. Bowls looked beautiful so I will definitely need to get myself one... or two next time. read more

Went here for my aunt and uncle for a rainbow bowl & moberi bowl. Acai is the main ingredient in their bowls but it comes in the form of a frozen sugary delight, slushy like a smoothie, then one adds granola, fruit etc. It's a sweet treat full of sugar, masking as a a healthier option, that's pretty spendy ($22 bucks for both bowls). Tried this place about a month ago and I keep coming back.Probably the best Smoothie place around Mississippi and Williams. The smoothies have taste and flavors. Doesn't taste like water ... I got a pineapple mint smoothie, I'm always nervous about smoothies being overly sweetened with concentrate or honey, but this was one of the tastier/balanced green smoothies I've had in Portland! a perfect treat for these recent sunny days. I have had good experiences at all Moberi locations but this is the one closest to my house that I frequent the most. The employees are my favorite. So kind and always have my order ready way ahead of schedule. Additionally, I am that annoying customer that has a million customizations in the notes (meaning FREE customizations) and they always happily do all the extra things I ask for even though they don't have to. SIDE NOTE coconut whip is expensive but so worth it. Cocoa nibs are not unless you're doing it purely for health purposes then I guess it might be. Both acai is my favorite, pitaya tastes more tropical but it great for digestion! read more

Love having this location so close to my house. I've always loved their acai bowls and smoothies. Check out their bicycle charged smoothie blender; powered by you! Lately I've been loving the "Turtle Power" smoothie. It's got kale, mango, bananas, ginger, and apple juice. Gives me good energy! read more

Late afternoon visit, so the hipster crowd had clearly skateboarded back to their respective creative labs. I had the place to myself. Prime auditing conditions. First impression? This place is built for volume. You can tell. Efficient layout. Assembly-line potential. If bowls were a factory sport, this would be a playoff team. Ordered the Home Grown. Took a quick bathroom break. Came back and -- boom -- bowl was already on the counter. FAST. And it looked elite. Then I saw it. A generous dollop of peanut butter at the top, sprinkled with hemp seeds. I almost got emotional. It felt like flying over your hometown after months away. Familiar. Safe. Right. First bite? Delicious. Smooth. Creamy. Almost like frozen yogurt or soft serve. Easy eating. Crowd-pleasing texture. And then... I looked up. Another bowl was being made. The açaí base was coming out of a soft-serve machine. As a purist, this one hurt. I want hand-scooped. Blender-blade symphony. Crafted, not dispensed. I had a small internal crisis. The seating could be a hit-or-miss. It really depends on the time. It might be harder for a party of 2+ to find a table right away. Parking could also be a challenge. It's a busy neighborhood and there isn't a private lot or anything. The pricing of the food and a drink to pair could easily cost you $20+/person (without tip)! To me, it's worth it for the price. I like that…read morethey were down with the açaí bowl situation before it was cool (or at least, before it became de rigeur and/or spread to the damp and drippy PNW). I started chowing down on smoothie bowls in sunny southern California and the majorest of major metros like Manhattan, and it seems like it took forever for the "trend" to spread to our rainy neck of the woods. One could certainly get wheatgrass shots every which where, but smoothie bowls, not so much. ANYWAY, Carioca Bowls was leading the vanguard of delish and genuine açaí bowls in PDX long before it was an expected food variety in all hippie-ish towns in the US. Their bowls meet my exacting ingredient standards: Now that smoothie bowls have gone mainstream, many are just lightly disguised dessert with "health food" marketing: Hidden sweeteners and grody additives pushed on the unsuspecting hoi polloi ruin it for people who don't do their homework. But not Carioca Bowls: You can ACTUALLY get an unsweetened açaí bowl if that's your jam (it's mine: If I wanted dessert, I'd get a cupcake), and they don't drown the top in honey (honey has its place, and that place is far away from me), and drink in the extremely second-wave granola vibes while you're at it. Third-wave hippie food, like third-wave coffee shops, have suffered a loss of soul: Minimalist design, LED lighting, and cookie-cutter staff with vaseline smiles beckoning "welcome in!" with vacant looks in their eyes have sapped a lot of the joy from the spaces serving hippie food and matcha tea. Carioca Bowls remains a comfortingly messy, quirky callback to sincerity: Murals, houseplants, low lighting, a big messy garden-y space outdoors for sitting and chowing, organic unfussy aesthetics that make the whole scene just feel welcoming and comfy. You can eat your bowl here and not feel like you're a nuisance to the staff, or like there's a glaring spotlight on you (unlike SOME smoothie/juice/bowl places I could mention). Nary a whiff of extruded white plastic ANYWHERE in this place. It makes me feel at home, the way a wheatgrass-sniffin', long-hair-havin', big-hug-givin' hippie should feel. When I walk through the door, I feel RELAXED, ya know what I mean? Anyway, give it a try - this isn't my 'hood but I will still occasionally make a pilgrimage just to get a bowl and drink in the vibes. So if I were writing a Michelin guide (buy those tires!) I suppose I'd give this at least a star, as it's worth a special trip (IF you're into what I've described here - it's highly specific, but it's MY vibe). Anyway, long live Carioca Bowls!

I needed to set the bar high from day one. Proud Mary on Alberta Street was my first move, and it provided a light but delicious first meal paired with great espresso drinks. (And I needed to set the bar high for coffee in town because this friend own her own coffee shop in LA) This is the kind of place I bring people to when I want to show off what this city does best a casual environment with interesting food that doesn't take itself too seriously, in a space that just feels right. They pay so much attention to detail of he flavor and presentation and that makes even humble dishes feel more special. My friend ordered the spring omelette and it was simple, it could have used a bit more flavor or texture or even an additional protien source but it was good non the less. When our cappuccinos arrived first, I remembered this is an Australian-owned café. Served with a dusting of chocolate powder the way an "apparently" proper Aussie capp should be. Both cups were genuinely excellent. For vegetarians, the menu gives you real options with actual thought behind them and of course their are so many dishes with meat that everyone can love, so that's a huge win for me Who it's for: first-time Portland visitors, coffee lovers, anyone who wants a brunch spot that earns its reputation. While I do gravitate towards the donuts first, I know they are also famous for their chai. So if you are a chai fan don't skip that option here. I just had a chance to interact with their mobile food truck at an event, which was such a fun aspect to the overall event. I got a quad of donuts and a chocolatey chai! Also I will say this: Pip's offers a free birthday dozen, which is incredibly generous gift. My birthday falls around the holidays so I usually can't make it in, but I want to be clear that I have absolutely zero complaints about that. Adults, especially, should never grumble about not receiving a generous freebie. The fact that they offer it at all speaks volumes about the kind of business they are!

Portland trip pt II featuring Pip's…read more Boyfriend and I visited Pip's before our flight back to LA. We've had pretty much every popular sugary and carby donut that Portland has to offer. A friend of mine recommended Pip's for their bite sized donuts and chai. We came at a right time by waking up early enough to beat the crowd. Service was pretty solid here and the menu is easy to read. Upon seating, they made a whoopsie by giving me a heated chai, but I can overlook that since they gave us an extra donut :) We got brownie butter, cinnamon sugar, and raw honey + salt to share. I got the King and I (made dirty) for my own because I love pandan. They put a lot of care into their product and it definitely shows. Chai was spectacular and donuts were delicious. I'm returning!
