Terrible! Ordered a car to the AIRPORT and Dispatcher said 5 MINUTES. 15 minutes and 2 calls later the dispatcher said driver was en route and would be there in 2 minutes. That apparently he gave him the incorrect address. Your only job is to dispatch cabs and you can't do that. Never again. Also, he had paid for the driver to be holding a sign and he didn't do it. On top of that, he tried to charge me for waiting. Listen, glad you waited buddy...there is an extra tip in it for you. Showed up on time on a Sunday morning to take us from Brooklyn to Newark. Dispatcher was kind and accommodating, and told us the price ahead of time. Then I made the mistake of confirming the price with the driver at the end of our trip, and he inflated it by $8. I didn't feel like arguing before the crack of dawn at the airport, but it isn't about the $8; It's about lying and taking advantage of customers. My tip: never ask the drivers how much the trip is. How does one review a car service? By and large, the experience one gets from a car service is on a case by case basis. If you get a good driver, everything's hunky-dory. If you get a bad one, your experience is bad. Mobil is located very close to our apartment so I use them fairly often and always call them when one of our guests needs a car. They always manage to get a car to our place in less than 10 minutes. The quality of the drivers that they employ varies. While most fall into the mediocre category, I have ridden with more than a few god awful drivers. Some don't speak a lick of English, which is frustrating. I'm not saying that every cab driver needs to be able to talk to me about my favorite Joyce novel, but having a driver that can't understand phrases like: "Drop me off here," "Take a left at the light," or "Take me to JFK" make things difficult, especially when you're trying to not be late for work or miss a flight. Some drivers not only don't speak English, but also have no idea where anything is. One guy actually handed me his GPS and told me to input the address for him since he had no idea where the intersection of Canal St and West Broadway was located. After getting dropped off, I had one guy who didn't have change for a twenty. He told me that my three options were to: 1. go to the nearby bodega and buy something to get change 2. ask passersby for change 3. leave him a $9 tip on an $11 fare. To make matters worse, he became incredibly belligerent when I suggested that he be the one to get change as it is his job. We yelled at each other for 5 minutes before I called the headquarters to resolve the dispute. Then there's my man Marwan who works the graveyard shift. He is, without a doubt, the best car service driver in the city. In a field riddled with malaise and incompetence, Marwan takes pride in his job and attempts to give his customers great service every single time. HIs suit is always pressed, his car is always clean, and he is always chipper, no matter what time you call him. He says you can smoke in the car. He says that you can eat or drink in the car. If it's cold outside, he has the back seat heaters and vents cranked up before you get in the car. He asks what radio station you would like to listen to (I recommend you let him play his mix of Saudi Arabian pop music. It's great driving music and crucial for the experience). One time, I was reading a book and he, without me asking him, turned on all of the lights in the car and turned off the music. It's remarkable how hospitable he is and the cab driver chit chat is absolutely priceless. The first time that my girl rode with him, he told her, "Please make yourself at home. You can smoke a cigarette if you want. I want you to feel comfortable but I cannot take you to my house and offer you the full rack of lamb." Every time Marwan drops me off at work he leaves me with, "Thank you so much, Mr. Jimmy. You have a wonderful, blessed, prosperous, successful day!" Unfortunately, this is a review of Mobil, and not of Marwan. +5 Stars for him. -1 Star for some of the other clowns they have working there. read more

When i'm not in the mood to cram into a plastic rectangle with 200 other sweaty people who are all trying to undress me, I call Mobil Car. Airport, market, doctor, job, party, park slope, all five minutes, doesn't matter. One time I moved using mobil car and the guy happily helped load and unload my records, weapons, and philodendron. Like all car services, you occasionally get the one with 37 pine fresheners that's running on deflated tires. Hopefully you're not hung over when that happens. read more

This review isn't based on the car service itself, because I didn't even get to use them. I called the dispatcher to ask for a quote and he put me on hold while I was mid-sentence. After about 10 min., he gets back on the line and I asked him how much a taxi from williamsburg to bensonhurst would cost. He screamed at me saying, "YOU NEED TO TELL ME EXACTLY FROM WHERE TO WHERE, MA'AM!". holy jesus fuck, calm down..all you had to do was ask. I told him the exact addresses and he barked back "27", I couldn't hear him through his shouting, so I asked "27 dollars?" to which he yelled back "YES, DOLLARS!" and just hung up on me. There is no need to yell at people when you're running a business. I'd rather rip up that money than to give it to your establishment. read more

I had one nice person talk to me.. which was a girl.. she may have just started. I take cabs often... and car services are scarce in my area. If you get a young man on the phone speaking quickly and answering your call in Spanish, you probably got the asshole. Thanks for the good times Mobil! WARNING: THIS CAR COMPANY IS A SCAM. My company had an account with Mobil Car Service. We order 15-20 cars per night to take our staff home and provide them with plenty of business. When we were invoiced for our cars, Mobil had been charging us more than double what any other local car service (Northside, Metroline, Arecibo, Myrtle), Über, or Taxi in the area was charging. Not only that, we would call for a quote and they would charge us double what we were quoted. I took this car service thanksgiving night from Williamsburg to Astoria. They were prompt in picking me up, and the drive was fine. But my wallet slipped out of my pocket and the driver kept it, so I had to cancel all my cards, get a new license, etc. I called the dispatch immediately, standing on the same spot where I was dropped off, so the wallet was not on the ground. The dispatch assured me that it was the driver they patched me through, car 82, but when I described the details of our conversation, he kept saying he wasn't the driver. The second call to the dispatch put me through to the same car, and he just hung up on me. Either he's a liar & a thief, or the company is highly disorganized. I was an extremely satisfied and loyal customer of mobile car service for several years. However, the past year an extremely rude and disrespectful lady started answering/ dispatching calls in the mornings. She lacks customer care skills, has the tendency to rush off the phone not allowing customer to finish speaking, or hangs up on customer without often acknowledging if a car was dispatched to the location for pick up. I have made several attempts to file my complaint however, the female dispatcher intercepts my calls, hangs up on me, never allows the call to be transferred to the owner. I recently discovered that the female dispatcher is the owners wife, and several people have also called to complain about the same issue. Clearly, the owner is aware of his wife's rudeness and doesn't care nor has done anything to rectify this problem. Therefore Adios Mobil you've lost a customer! read more

This is not a car service, per se, so much as it as a phone "service" - a phone service in the sense that a person picks up their phone and confirms a pick-up time and address. That's all, though. No additional service and certainly no cabs. No way. If I could give mobile car service a negative star I would my mom called me and my two year old a cab this afternoon it arrived I got in the back said hello and told him my address he immediately told me the price of my ride as if I couldn't afford it and barely wanted to greet me back. As I entered my mother paid and asked him to please drive safe because her granddaughter was in the back he took offense to it and pull Off aggressively upon reaching the highway he aggressively swerved around a car entering the gas station and aggressively swerved around another car on the highway he started speeding up and I felt unsafe so I asked him nicely can you please slow down which I guess set him off because he proceeded to yell at me aggressively told me I was dramatic and made my two-year-old cry he argued with me a paying customer for five minutes while driving recklessly with an attitude not to mention he didn't realize my husband was meeting us at our final destination he no longer had an attitude or a big mouth This animal should not be driving people around New York City he has road rage a bad attitude and does not know how to talk to paying customers. One driver showed up dressed unprofessionally in a hoodie and sweatsuit. He did not pull up in front of the pick-up address making his arrival and motive quite vague. When I tried to take a photo of his license plate and license for safety reasons, he became panic stricken and alluded to the fact that he would not take me to my destination. He also was not prepared to start the day as he had no change at all. He was very rude to expect that his passenger was responsible for acquiring change. The second driver was extremely late and not very helpful with heavy items. He then proceeded to drive fast and erratically through hazardous situations on city streets becoming lost even when I offered to provide directions. He created an unsafe passenger experience and even when I explained the situation to the dispatcher, he did not have the good sense to reprimand him. The red flag should have been the attitude of the reservationist when I called. This car service is very unprofessional and does not make the passenger feel as if in capable hands. read more

Quick & efficient. Called the day before July 4th for pickup in Brooklyn for my flight at JFK. I confirmed that I could pay with my card in the car when I called the dispatcher. However, when the driver arrived he did not actually have a credit card machine in the car. He kindly offered to stop by an ATM, but at 3:30 in the morning on a way to a flight, that is not what I was hoping to hear. I therefore had to call into the base and provide my card details by phone. I was charged an additional service fee for this. The driver arrived promptly at the requested time and helped me load my luggage into the car. Safe and comfortable drive - less than 30 min to the airport. Good service, but I recommend having cash to pay considering not all cars have a credit card option available. pros: *the drivers are usually courteous (especially gil - he's the bomb). that's why the two stars. cons: *these guys are NEVER on time. i can't think of one time where their estimated arrival time was accurate. that's bad when getting someone somewhere at a certain time is your bread and butter. i called a car today and was told eight minutes tops. well, it took 25, which isn't great when you are on your way to the airport. this happens without exception, which makes me question my sanity for still calling them every time. *the prices vary. you get a quote on the phone, and the driver will try to charge you more. so be insistent and ask for a price upfront for longer drives (goes for all car services, i guess). *you are often on hold for a long time. it used to not be quite like that but has gotten bad over the last year or so. just hire one more dispatcher during peak hours! overall, i am sorry to say, but mobile finally lost me as a loyal customer. read more

We have used Mobile may times over the last year and have continually had issues, but today was the worst!! We called and were told that a car would be here in 8 minutes... after 30 minutes and 10 phone calls, which told us "2 minutes" and "the car was a block away,, he'll be there in a minute", we called another car service which showed up in 5 mintues!!!! I called and canceled MOBILE and they were apologetic, but come on 30 min for a car that was a block away??? As we called I watched a car that had parked up the street drive away, turned out to be there driver and he parked and NEVER came to our address or called in the 20+ minutes he was sitting parked like it was magic that we could know he was the car service. Whoever has given Mobile a good review must be a friend of the owner. I work at a business that has given Mobile a TON of business, only to find out that we were being LARGELY ripped off on their prices. I'm talking thousands of dollars that we did not realize we were being jibbed of until after the fact. When we tried to address the situation, rather than owning up to their quite-obviously manipulative pricing scheme, they continued to reflect the blame back at us, which made no sense and destroyed their credibility. When discussing these problems with Mobile's employees, they maintained an incredibly curt, insensitive, and immature demeanor. I do not recommend doing business with Mobile. read more

These people are crooks! i accidentally left my phone in the cab, was able to track it via "find my iPhone". it was moving and obviously in the cab. i sent a message to it saying "reward if found" and the cabbie turned the phone off (when it was fully charged and had a mophie battery case on it!). he obviously intentionally turned the phone off, probably in an effort to keep it and resell it. One employee at the place confirmed that a driver picked me up and dropped me off that night, yet later denied it! the cabbie says I was dropped off at a different location and that I didn't give him the full fare fee, which is ENTIRELY UNTRUE!!! They are my go to car service for pretty much everything...airport, late nights (when I go back to visit and need to be hulled back to the city!), special requests ect. The drivers always arrive 10-15 minutes early and are courteous and respectful.
