I got a car $12 touch less wash. It's very slow, be ready to wait. Upon exiting, I found my car wasn't clean. I showed the clerk inside and he said that happens with touch less. I asked for a free wash and he gave it to me with brushes touching my car. My car still wasn't clean and definitely not dry, there are water spots. To use the vacuum you have to pay, or go inside to get a voucher if you purchased more expensive wash as I did; the vacuum suction is fair. I do NOT recommend. read more

I was desperately looking for Claritin. I was at a near by Shell and they closed at 7pm due to being short staffed. So we walked 6 more minutes to get the Claritin. Before walking I called and Sheralyn ( this might be misspelled my apologies) answered the phone, I told her the situation and she said let me ensure we have some first then she rushed back to the phone to confirm. She was extraordinary for this human gesture. I gave her a complement and she said it had been so long since someone had been "Nice" to her and I said " You matter and you are doing an amazing job. Terrible and dismissive manager AJ! The car wash damaged my vehicle, manager refused to accept or acknowledge this actually happened.....although the "attentive" gas station employee took photos and assisted me after the damage to my trunk. Manager came after 10 minutes, he drove to the gas station.... refused to look at my car and proceeded to tell me, "it didn't happen here." He is terrible, dismissive and should be demoted! Also, there are cameras, he stated it didn't happen... although the machine hit my trunk... shook my car to the point that I drove out of the car wash with soap all over my car. THE most disgusting customer service I have ever seen. DO NOT USE THE CAR WASH! He could have at least apologized for any damage caused, instead... he told me it never happened. I will be filing a complaint and attempting to reach the owner! It is something that can be buffed out...some slight paint damage.... but the mistreatment of a loyal customer is despicable. On my way back from baja, I stopped by here to fuel up. There was nobody else around, which was not surprising as it was three in the morning. I fueled up, and I was hoping to find an open restroom. Alas, I did not find it, as there was to employee tending to the place. I should have seen that coming with the "help needed" sign posted at the front of the convenience store. Horrible customer service. We ran out of gas - literally at the pump- shortly after 10PM on Friday night. The guy working was still hanging out at the register. I explain to him our situation and he went on and about how they're closed and the pumps are off. I asked him if he had the ability to turn them back on- he said yes but he wouldn't since they were closed. Kindness and human decency out the window. Got a complimentary car wash coupon from a Toyota of Carlsbad, you have to pay an extra $4 for the Scrub brushes, they wash your car with NO soap, and there's a wait of 30 minutes of other Toyota patrons getting their crappy 'free' car wash. Stopped in for gas this morning. This gas station was fully stocked with Hand sanitizer for the guests at their pumps, which was surprising since the last three stations (not Mobil) I've visited were out of sanitizer in their pump area....so you felt "not clean" and had to get back in the car anyway. Prices were not the lowest but also not the highest I've seen. The parking lot was very clean and the store looked nice. read more

Awful maintained car wash. No soap. Does bad job drying. Only been here twice and bad experience each time. I went 2 months later my 2nd time and still NO soap in the thing it just brushes (and scratches ) a slightly wet car then fails to completely dry. Does have touchless but only if you buy the overpriced $14 wash. My regular all hand wash place is almost the same price. And there are like 4 hand written signs attempting to instruct you on how to use the faulty machine. If you are a customer of Toyota Carlsbad's Service Dept, you get car wash vouchers for this location. The car wash itself is VERY thorough vs. your regular automated car wash. That's great for your car, but the wait is ridiculous. Just 5-6 cars in front of you could take 30 minutes until you're up. If you have the voucher, you need to first go into the gas station and have the cashier exchange it for a code. But entering the code is not so straightforward once you are at the machine. You opt for the longest, fanciest wash they have and then it doesn't prompt you to enter the code. You have to sort of figure it out on the fly. It's not user-friendly. Afterward, they have an air hose for cleaning out your car, but I think you have to pay for it in quarters. read more

Good car wash and the employees are friendlier than you would usually expect at a gas station. Other than that though their prices are WAY too high. The gas is always the most expensive in the area (yes it's next to the freeway), but other things are over priced as well. I really only come here if I want a car wash. read more

I have used the car wash at this gas station a lot over the years. It takes about five minutes to go through the cycle. Today, I looked at the partly cloudy skies and the weather report didn't predict any rain, so I put down $6 and took my car through the wash. You can imagine my surprise when, as I exited the bay, down poured the rain onto my freshly washed car. I thought, "oh well, surely they'll give me a rain check after that." Unfortunately , the employees wouldn't do it, although I had previously received a free wash at least twice before after a wash that didn't clean thoroughly. I was happy to hear that they would have the store manager call me. A few hours later, she called. I thought for sure she was going to comp me a free wash, but she refused to offer me the rain check. So, after all these years, I've decided I'm going to wash my car elsewhere from now on. Besides, there are at least two others closer to my house. What the heck did I just pay $12 for?! For them to sprinkle water on my car. That was the slowest and most worthless car wash ever. We just wanted to give my car a quick clean tonight. We normally go to another one, but theirs wasn't working so we gave this place a try. Never again! We sat there waiting for it to start, eventually it sprayed water. Then, yes it did add some soap but it didn't touch the car at all to clean it. It just sprayed it right back off. It "dries" over your car twice. No water came off at all. We wanted to warn the people behind us but it's not like we can get out and tell them. So, here I am writing a review trying to warn others just like most of the people on here. They have, apparently, gotten new pumps since some of those early reviews 5+ years ago. HOWEVER: Don't think that you're going to use the bathroom here, even after patronizing the pumps or making a selection at the store. The bathroom is being cleaned. Exactly when you want to use it. Exactly when I want to use it. Exactly always. I believe that there is a federal law that requires gas stations at Interstate exits/entrances must provide air/water for your car, and free public restrooms for everyone. I guess this place knows that they're just far enough from the ramps that they can make their paying customers hold it until you can make a second stop. read more

I was given a complimentary car wash at Mobile. It was the worst car wash I have ever had. After waiting almost half an hour, my car finally goes through this very elementary, automatic wash. I have a Prius and it did not take off most of the dirt on the lower sides of the car or the trunk area of the car. There were still pieces of dirt on to hood, as well. After much ado with the Mobile people they huffed and puffed that maybe they could let me return for another. Who wants to drive 15 miles to a car wash that doesn't wash well? Not me. One of my go to gas stations in Carlsbad. Located right off the 101 and Palomar Airport Road, it's the most convenient place to fill up before heading to the airport to drop off the rental car. The only downside to this gas station is that to get back to the 101, you have to make a U-turn on Palomar Airport Road. There's no option to make a left turn towards the freeway. It's tempting to pay a few cents more to go down the road just to save some time! If management could replace the computers, I think it would up their business a bit.
