Although I never heard of Maverick, which is seen on a couple of my pics....I admit I didn't find the reciept right away yet google it and couldnt find it...and when I found something wasn't sure if it was it. The pumps are too close together; there are too many cars going in and out; it's too dark to feel safe-- these are things that deter me from many gas stations around my area. When it comes to Bucky's Express, I will drive out of my way to go here when I am in need of gas for my car. Ever changing prices of gas aside, this is the perfect gas station for me. Located at Pyott and Randall, this is the easiest gas station for me to pull into while traveling up and down busy Randall road. It's located right next to a stop light with turn lanes that are easy to navigate. Turning into and out of this gas station is easy, something I consider very important. There's a good amount of pumps and ample space between them. Sometimes, you'll find yourself at a gas station that is very tight, making it seem like you're right on top of the other cars. Bucky's Express has a very open area for their pumps. It's also a well lit area come dusk. This makes me feel a little safer when filling my gas tank in the evening hours. I can't say I've ever utilized the car wash or the convenience store. When I have spoken to staff (very few instances) they've been friendly. There's not much parking for the convenience store specifically, but really, how many people 'hang out' at the gas station for long periods of time, so this shouldn't be a huge problem. Overall, this gas station is one of the few that doesn't cause me to feel anxious about filling my gas tank! I'm very happy with it.

I've got to tell you I had a very interesting and disturbing issue at this Thornton's gas station…read moretoday. First off, I drive an ambulance, i've been driving for over eight years. There is a handicap placard hanging off of my Mirror, which is always there . I have COPD, severe neuropathy in both hands and feet well as a lot of feeling due to a spine injury and that's only for starters. I have had a handicap backward for almost 10 years. So when I walked in Thornton today all of a sudden I started noticing all the employees which there was about sixth of them all started coming over to the front window by the door and all of them looking out at the Ambulance,,, secretly having some sort of conversation between the employees, I went back and grabbed the soda and they continued to what seem to be having secrets and not knowing exactly who was driving it. So I just watched from the back of the store. When I was ready to check out with my soda and a bag of beef jerky I decided to go to the self checkout because I didn't want to have a confrontation with anybody. Just then the manager walks up and says "is that your Ambulance out there" I said yes it is and he says well you can't park there that is a handicap stop. I immediately got defensive and I said "why don't you take another look because you obviously don't know what you're talking about or what you're complaining about". He looked again and saw there was a handicap placard but offered no apologies. He then mentioned well I could park on the side of the building right now and in the future. I mentioned to him I have a very limited amount of space I can walk without assistance, therefore that's why I'm parked in the handicap at the front door. I noticed all the other employees all started looking at other stuff and helping other customers because I think maybe they were slightly embarrassed but nevertheless I never gotten an apology. In my opinion, I really feel I should take this to a good ADA Attorney and Sue Thornton's for their lack of the ADA rules and regulations..

The cops in Crystal lake suck and did nothing, but the state regulators shut his pumps down for a while. This guy is a theif and knew what he was doing. He must have set the pumps funny from the inside. The only way I knew this is because I brought a 5 gal gas can and it said it gave me 5 gals but the can wasn't even half full. Always use a can for this reason!!!

This review is based solely on my experience using the restroom at this gas station…read more Let me preface this story by saying that I had to go to the bathroom so badly that my muscles were aching. Certainly in the top 5 most urgent times I've had to use the washroom. Let me say next that I had the option to go to several other places to relieve myself, including a McDonald's across the street but, I decided to go with Shell--I've had good experiences with the cleanliness of their restrooms in the past and this is a nicer area so, heck, I went for it. First, the restrooms were left unlocked- a fact I did not find out until I waited in line behind 3 other customers (remember how bad I had to go?) well, I made my way over to the restroom and was immediately greeted by the following: -a toilet that was constantly flushing. -paper towels covering 35%-55% of the floor. -a discarded pair of boxer shorts in the garbage. -racist writings adorning two of the four walls. Now, don't get me wrong. I did my business and made it out alive. It's also clear that the bathroom had a nice skeleton--the walls were nice and the floor was nicely tiled. It was just unkempt and confusingly filthy. In case of emergency, this washroom is doable but I'd avoid it if all possible. I for one will make an effort to try the combination gas station-mcdonalds if ever the emergency again arises.
