I left and my car felt weird -- struggling to accelerate, loud noise outside the car, and hissing I could hear through the AC. I take it back a week later, tell them exactly what's happening, and they look at the car and tell me "oh someone didn't tighten the filter." They tighten it up and send me on my way. It still feels off...and now my engine light comes on. I've moved out of the area now. I run the code P1101 -- AIR FLOW. I open it up myself...no filter. NO FILTER. So now I figured out what happened. They loosened it prepping to put the filter in, but never actually installed one. Then when I came back complaining about the symptoms, they still never checked whether the filter was even there before tightening everything back up. I literally paid for NOTHING, and this could have damaged my car. I knew something felt wrong. I had videos. I explained clearly what was happening. Why didn't anyone actually check? How can I get my money back? I paid for an air filter they never installed, and they had TWO chances to catch it and missed it both times. Another thing feels off too. I was told I needed a transmission fluid change...except I got one a year ago and haven't even put 5k miles on the car, let alone 50k. I have a receipt for that service too, but apparently it was never recorded in their system that it was done on my car. How is that possible? So now I'm wondering...was it actually done? If it was, why isn't it documented in the system? If it wasn't, did I pay for a service they never performed? I'm frustrated to say the least.
