BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! The Stealership had my car for weeks and said the motor was bad they couldn't start the car and a whole bunch of BS. I got tired of it sitting so I towed it here and WOW. Integrity is one word to describe Rod V Rod in Brookhaven. My Daughter was getting tires put on at a local tire store and notice some issues with her 2008 Rogue. The tire place quoted the cost of the repair for her. I called Rod's and he said that he could do the job the next day. The service engine light came on in my BMW 3 times during the span of 3 months and all three times I took it to my regular European car shop and they replaced the thermostat the first time, and the second and third (luckily on warranty). They concluded that if the light comes back on again then it may be time to replace the water pump. Estimated repair cost $1500. The light came back on a 4th time and I was dreading the trip back to my mechanic. I was looking at my options, and remembered going to Rod a couple of years ago when he helped me locate the source of a rattling noise from underneath the carriage. (he replaced a pretty major screw and charged me very minimal for it). So I left my car with Rod for a few hours. He called me back with specific instructions. - There may be something wrong electronically so my car needs calibration and only the BMW dealership can do it. But only do this if the service engine light comes back on. He resetted it for me. - Based on what he saw, it is NOT the water pump so do not waste any money replacing it. He did not charge me a penny. Normally, at all the other shops, they would charge you AT LEAST $50 just to read the error code. It costs $100 with my current shop, and $150 at the "stealership". I think I may have found a new mechanic. read more

I got pulled over today and was informed my brake light was out. Well, I had a class over in the Town Brookhaven shopping center so I thought I would get it taken care of during our lunch break. I took my truck to Rodvrod's auto center last week to address a gas smell that was coming from my engine. I dropped my truck off and Rod and his mechanic diagnosed the issue after a couple days. This was a issue that required some time to find and they diagnosed the issue to be with a defective fuel injector. Rod kept in touch with me through the process and found the issue 3 days later. I am totally impressed with Rod and his mechanic! Very customer driven and was very fair with the repair bill. I highly recommend Rodvrod auto Care center! read more

I first went to RodvRod when my 2001 VW Beetle refused to start. I had it towed to Rod's as he was the only mechanic who agreed to see my car on such short notice. He analysed my car for nearly 2 hours and advised me that it seemed like a car-security issue and that I had to take it to a dealer, as only the dealer could fix the problem. I took it to the dealer who confirmed the problem, and set it right. I returned to Rod to pay him for his analysis, but he refused to take any money from me! I have since returned to Rod's twice in 1 month- once for an oil change, and once because the battery cables had come loose. He charged me for the oil change, but not for tightening the loose cables. He is an honest mechanic, and I have spoken to many of his customers that also say the same about him. Highly recommend him! read more

Rodvrod gave me almost a $1,000 quote for a problem that I had fixed for $100. My air conditioner leaked water onto the floor of the car. I was told that in order to find out why that happened he would have to take off the whole dashboard out of my car, look inside, and even then he couldn't give an exact quote for what was wrong. Okay, sounds fair. He seemed very knowledgeable.. However, when I took my car to another mechanic for a second opinion he took off the whole dashboard and patched the problem for $100. Now Rodvod is e a good mechanic. He is a very nice man. He's not here to defend himself so it's one sided viewpoint. And I know It's a cut throat business making a living as a mechanic when you competition is always trying to undercut you. However, Rodvro's costs are high and you should negotiate with him to the best price. read more

I had my car at the dealership (Dodge) with auto body repair from a break in...they noticed a small antifreeze leak, which I had already noticed, but it was barely leaking. They gave me an estimate of $800 to fix the leak. I took my car to Rod based on the good Yelp reviews I had seen, and he told me it was barely leaking and I could probably go a while before I had to replace the part. About 6 months later, I noticed the antifreeze level going down, took it back to Rod, and he fixed it for $150! Super honest, which is hard to find these days!
