The guy in the shop told me it would be 120$ which is why I wanted to leave. After that he told me he could do it for 85$ and I agreed since I needed my phone. Galaxy S8, screen shattered. Stopped by on a Saturday evening and asked the store manager about the cost of replacing the screen. He was kind enough to call Verizon corporate for me and we found out how much I could get back from Verizon for my damaged S8 with the screen damaged vs the screen intact. It seemed worth it for me to just fix the screen for his discounted price of $250, and it was supposed to take just 30 minutes. Since they have a CASH ONLY policy, I jogged an avenue down to fulfill my part of the deal. Upon returning, I could see the technician opening up the phone with a heat gun, a blade, and prying it open with an old MetroCard. I saw pieces coming off, and the fix looked much more intense than I had expected. It took a bit longer than 30 minutes, maybe closer to 45 minutes, but I was excited to see the end result. The screen was put on well, and the phone appears to have been put back together perfectly. They added a screen protector as well. So why only 2 stars? From my heart, I wanted to give only ONE star, but in fairness, they deserve at least 2 for decent workmanship. However, I never thought for a minute that a screen repair could cause my phone to reset, and this possibility was not brought to my attention. Yes, MY BAD for not backing up the photos and other data on my phone for the last few months. Either way, all 3 of us (the tech, the manager, and I) were very surprised to find that the phone had completely reset, and all data had been lost. The wedding pics from last weekend, my daughter's graduation from a month ago, photos taken for work purposes... all gone. On top of that, I've got possibly hours of work ahead of me to get the phone settings and apps back the way I need them. The fact that I don't back up my files as I should is NOT their fault. The fact that I wasn't warned that there's a "1 % possibility that this can happen," as the manager told me afterwards, is a BIG no-no. This was basically surgery performed on a device that's become just about as important as a pacemaker for one's heart. And granted, these are just "first world problems"... but they're a first-world business. They're right on W. 23rd St in Manhattan. The utmost professionalism is expected. Unfortunately, from the shock of all of this, I offered him $100 max for the whole deal. He pushed my bill away and said they couldn't take any less than the full amount due, and claimed that most of the price of the fix goes to paying for the replacement screen part itself, something like $200. If they use a GENUINE Samsung part, yes, this can be true. It's doubtful that a genuine part was used, but I haven't done enough research to tell. In my head, if you run a business that promises a finished product and you don't warn of possible data loss or other associated problem, and that problem occurs, a significant portion of your original price should be discarded. In this case, he discounted an extra $50, claiming that the total $200 I paid is his basic cost for the part, and he's made no money whatsoever. I'm left with a good phone and a new screen protector, but the loss of important data and a bunch of time to set things up again. While they offered to try to restore my data if I returned on Monday, I can't say that really helps me, as I'm not sure when I'll get down there. Plus, the app that they suggested I try for data restoration, Samsung Kies, turns out to have been made for old Samsung operating systems, such as for the S4 or older. No good for me, it seems. If I'm able to get my data back, I may give them a full 3 stars (which denotes the "A-OK" impression of a business), but if you look around a bit, you may find a store that's more professionally operated. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I came here last week to get my iPhone XR front and back screen fixed. They were both cracked but the phone itself worked perfectly fine so I came here to replace both screens. For starters I paid 280$ CASH to get both fixed. At first I was told it would be 45 min and then I came back and the worker was the only one there and it was really busy as he had zero assistance he needed more time so I said ok.... I came back an hour and a half later and STILL nothing, then I stood there for another hour waiting for it to finally be fixed. At this point I didn't even care about the time I just cared about whether or not both screens were fixed so I just walked away happy as can be.... about an hour or two later my phone started glitching. My phone would call people, txt, open random apps, it was basically doing its own thing whenever it felt like it. I went back the next day and politely asked them to change my screen one more time. They agreed and I was satisfied because again I didn't care about anything else besides a working screen BUT GUESS WHAT THE NEXT DAY THE SAME SHIT IS HAPPENING. At this point I'm livid but I still went back to see if they would fix it one more time BUT THEY HAD NO MORE SCREENS TO GIVE ME. CHECKED IN THE NEXT DAY AND STILL NO SCREEN TO GIVE ME.... But that's not even the worst part the worst part about this place is that THEY GIVE NO RECEIPTS FOR CASH PURCHASES AND ON TOP OF THAT DO NOT GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK NO MATTER WHAT. I was asking for half of my money back ( because the back screen was fine) BUT I COULDNT EVEN GET THAT. THEN THEY PROCEEDED TO SHOW ME A SIGN THE SIZE OF MY FIST SAYING " no returns " I guess the one star goes to the worker who was professional and very patient with me. After all it isn't his fault his employers wouldn't give me my money back but the business itself is literal trash. DONT EVEN BOTHER. Just go to apple or a more legit place where there's a receipt and a guarantee get your phone fixed properly because if anything goes wrong here your money WILL go to waste just as mine did. read more

Awesome!! I had And old iPhone 6 Plus that had a cracked screen and the touch screen was not working. My five year old has been begging for an iPhone so she can FaceTime her grandparents and cousins on her "own" phone so I figured I would give it a shot. Stopped in to see about fixing my son's completely ruined iPhone screen. The technician was friendly and gave me a fair deal on replacing the shattered screen, power button & battery. I only had to walk around the neighborhood for 30 mins for the whole thing to be done. When I had the battery on my iPhone battery officially replaced (official Apple service) at Best Buy it was slightly cheaper but I had to wait 4 hours for the turn around and I don't think it was as good a battery as Mobile Couture put in. The Mobile Couture store itself is SUPER narrow so don't expect to hang around. More than 2 people and it's uncomfortable. read more

I broke and cracked my screen where it was impossible to see anything. I think the quality of the repair is 5 stars. I think they overcharged me. I started googling and researching cost to replace my screen and it appears the average was 150. He first told me it cost me a total of $244.94 but in the end, I paid a total of $270 and another $21 for a glass screen protector. In addition, I also order the otter box from them which increase the cost, which would have cost me less if I had just ordered it on Amazon. I should have asked the breakdown of the cost and where they were purchasing the parts. Overall, I would recommend them to anyone. Great work and quick. Stopped in here for a battery swap after wasting nearly 2 hours at Apple store on 14th Street. Phone would not boot because battery would not accept a charge (it would just stay on red battery icon screen). In under 30 minutes, they replaced the battery in my iPhone 6. No issues, no drama. Don't waste your time at Best Buy either of you have this problem - they wont swap the battery if they can't turn the phone on. read more

This place is the best! It was after 8 pm on a weekday, and my headphone jack broke off into my phone. Best Buy told me that they couldn't help me because I have a Samsung. They also told me I needed to buy a special tool to get out the broken jack. I can now report after having my phone back for nearly a week that on top of the headache in the initial repair that it doesn't even work properly. It only connects to WiFi when within inches of a router, making it largely ineffective for long-term use (i.e. I can't download podcasts, keep my iCloud backup up-to-date, or do software or app updates). So I'll have to get a new phone even after all of that. And my research leads me to believe that this issue is due to poor repairs. read more
