Messaged Anthony about a pre-purchase inspection on a private party sale of a E350 van with a 7.3 turbo diesel. Promptly responded, even though he was on another job. He had one of his guys cover for him so he could accommodate me. Same day mind you, he was early to the meet up location and talked to the seller before I even got there and was already checking things out. His knowledge for the 7.3 was extensive and found multiple things that needed to be addressed on it. I ended up buying the van for a great price. I was frauded by Anthony of Diesel Doctors. He seemed ok at first, making the appointment on time and diagnosing the problem as a bad fuel pump. I paid him $253 by Visa to change the pump. He wanted me to ship the new pump from Rock Auto to him at his father's home. He removed the tank but due to the tank needing internal cleaning was unable to complete the job. I thought it was strange he asked for an additional $100 payment by ZELLE only, but I paid it. After 1 month of excuses and broken promises and no additional work, I asked for my gas tank, new pump, and KEYS to my RV back. I was completely ghosted and blocked. I had friends call him to help ask for my KEYS AND PARTS BACK, they were blocked. I lost $353, my KEYS, my entire gas tank and new fuel pump. I went to his dad's home and spoke to his dad with no assistance. I asked numerous times for my parts and keys back. If I simply received even just my keys back, I probably would have been OK. These parts are basically worthless to him. I was later able to buy a used complete junkyard tank and use my spare keys to fix the RV myself. Luckily I was able to dispute the $253 (see picture) charge with my bank and retrieved my money back after showing them all my receipts and phone texts, and explaining everything. After reviews of what happened, I got a refund !!! I still lost $100 and some parts and my keys. It seems that most of Mobile Diesel Doctor's business is from the internet and I hope this YELP review warns everyone to stay away from this guy and also to only pay with a credit card. I had to find a mobile diesel mechanic as my chassis batteries on my class a diesel pusher rv were not charging and I had the low voltage light on. I believed my alternator was bad given my stupid act of switching the battery cables to the wrong posts. Called mobile diesel doctors and got and I Immediate call back. They were able to get out to work on the coach within a day of calling. They quickly diagnosed and changed out the alternator which I had purchased from tiffin given my belief. They checked out the electrical and checked for codes and said all ok. I had checked with anthony on status several times and learned his brother was doing the work. Will see the coach Monday when I pick it up from the rv repair shop where other work is being done non engine related. They were able to go to that shop to work on the engine. In my opinion, Anthony at Mobile Diesel Doctors, is very dishonest, untrustworthy and incompetent. I contacted this business, based on the positive reviews seen on Yelp and google. Per our telephone conversation and text messages, Anthony informed me I needed an oil pressure sensor replaced. First, Anthony was over 1.5 hour late. Additionally, the main problem that I originally spoke to him about(oil sensor gauge fluctuating-from 20 to 60)still exists and my service engine soon light is now activated. Basically, I was charged $250 for an oil change. As a result, I have to find another mechanic who will remedy this situation. I will not be contacting this business for any for services. Semi truck: I have a cold start misfire. Was recommended to diesel doctor by a friend because Anthony had an analyzer. I received a call from Anthony who directed me to show up at 8:00 am the next morning. I was there at 7:30. He attached his analyzer and ran some tests. Really found no issues that were not associated with the analyzer. Under the hood he found a loose fitting on the fuel pump and a leak in the primmer pump gasket and a faulty universal on steering column. Great lets get it fixed. Red Flag 1. I was then told that I had to accompany the mechanic to purchase the parts which I had to pay for. No delivered by supplier. Red Flag 2. When it came time to pay the bill he demanded cash. Well I am a business man and need to write off my repairs on my taxes. This was an awkward issue but I complied. The work was completed and I went on my merry way. The steering column was nice. Tight and firm with no play. The next day I needed to test the cold start issue. Unfortunately it was the same as before. This is not a big deal as I have had experiences this in the past with unsuccessful trouble shoots by mechanics and I just need to find another. So I went to open the hood to see if the gasket was leaking. Problem 1. When I pulled the hood release the hood would not open. I fiddled around to try to get it open but was unable to open it even by manually pulling the release lever underneath. Problem 2. I called and left a message for Anthony of Diesel Doctors explaining the problem asking him to return my call so I can get this hood opened and get back to work. I do not want to leave the state without the ability to check under the hood and at least verify there is no fuel leak. The next morning I called again. There was no answer. This was a work day. Then the New years came along. I called again on the next business day. There was no answer. And again with no answer. I had no choice. I to pay paid another mechanic to remove the cowling and the latch mechanism finding it was about an inch out of a matching alignment. A few loosened bolts, re-align the hood and frame latch, then replace the cowling back in business. The fuel gasket was fine with no leaks. Conclusion: Positives: This is a nice shop setup. That day there were 3 qualified mechanics.Everyone is real nice. Negatives: Shop required customers to buy their own parts? Shop requires customers to pay with cash instead of credit card? Shop does not pick up the phone when a repeat customer calls trying to get a shop error fixed and the job complete. I saw them carrying a portable phone with them around the shop. They must have read the caller ID and avoided their responsibility. Yikes! Finally, would I recommend a friend to this shop. My answer?? Sorry, I can't do it. Guys get it together!
