Giovanni came towards the end of the day, and quickly discovered that the capacitor had gone bad. He grabbed a new one from his truck and quickly installed it. Problem fixed! Our A/C unit is 20 years old and we were sure that we were gonna have to replace it to the tune of $10k, but Giovanni got it running again with a simple and relatively inexpensive fix. Hopefully the unit will finish out the summer here in CA, and we can replace it off-season, when demand and rates are lower. I would give a five-star rating, as Giovanni was on time, knowledgeable, friendly and courteous, and was prepared to repair the unit immediately (had the part on hand) but, he did NOT give us a breakdown of the cost of the part + labor PRIOR to fixing the unit. He just got the part and installed it, and then told us how much we needed to pay him. It is true that we desperately wanted it fixed, and probably would have agreed to any quote he gave, but it would have been more professional of him to have us approve the work to be done first. In conclusion, Our experience was favorable and we would definitely recommend Giovanni!

So he then said he would come at 6PM to accommodate me. Which I appreciated. He arrived, called when he was outside, got paperwork ready for me and I signed. He was setting up his light and finished my plug replacement in less than 10 minutes. (I know I could've done the job myself, it's a relatively easy replacement, especially easier when you have the power tool) However I'm one of those gals who'd rather just pay someone else to do it. He even noticed something else on the car that I already knew about and told me exactly what I needed and quoted me his labor price for it if I purchased the part.
