This business is a fraud. They come across at first as caring and friendly but after coming here several times it's proven otherwise. Let's start with my recent visit. Came in with my own parts to replace ball joints. They fix it the same day. Seemed to care and have follow up information on what they did. Two days later, I started to hear squeaking coming from the area they just fixed (which did not make noise prior). Got a second opinion and it turns out they did not top off with grease. Only put on part I supplied and nothing else. This is my third time bringing it there and every time there is a problem still. I have other family who have brought their car there and ended up with worse problems. Never ever will I bring my vehicle there and I do not recommend anyone bring their poor cars there. The quality of work is worse than a YouTube mechanic. Not sure if it's on purpose to bring more money or just plain stupidity but either way, I will not be back! Horrible place read more

Amazing service and super quick, Rodney and the team is really the best. I had a problem with my car's suspension that made unable to drive. I called a few shops around but they all wouldn't be able to take me in that day. A Care was the only place that was able to take me in that day, and they got it fixed super quickly the next day. I've also been having this issue with some extremely loud squeaking underneath my car for maybe a year now, and every mechanic I've been to has been unable to find or fix the issue. Rodney sat in the car with me so we could diagnose the sound, and he immediately figured it out once it happened. We did a full replacement of the clutch kit and throwout bearing, and now driving my car almost feels like the first day I got it. This shop is awesome and I'll definitely be going here for everything all of my car repairs! read more

I just want to say that I have never worked with a shop so prompt. Rodney and his crew have an extremely clean shop (build like a race-shop, which would make sense with Rodney's car racing background), and they work at lightning speed. They had to pull the entire motor out of my truck in order to fix an issue with the cam, and pulled the project off in 7 days. If you have dealt with swamped shops before, this is unheard of. After doing a bit of research, it seems that their pricing is pretty competitive as well, though I didn't vet it passed what I read on online forums-- still really happy with the services. His staff is super welcoming and friendly as well. Definitely recommend! One thing I'll add: I saw a few bad reviews here regarding the owner's attitude, but based on the way these were written, it looks to me like these customers already had attitudes going in-- mechanics see the worst of people on a daily basis solely due to customers having pre-conceived ideas of shady mechanics, but in what I can see, Rodney runs a clean and honest shop. A local five star business. I was referred to Rodney by Greg of Cavallino Coachworks. Cavallino's uses A Care Auto Repair for some of their mechanical issues. My truck needed more A/C juice. Wasn't blowing cold anymore. I stopped by a week or two ago and talked to Rodney and he said he would be able to do it some afternoon. I finally took the truck in yesterday. Arrived about 2 pm, left about 3 pm with my A/C blowing ice cold air! I was a happy camper. Rodney also checked my fluid levels... 5-speed manual transmission, differential and engine oil. As other yelpers have stated, Rodney takes his time and explains what's going on, what he needs to do and what he did. I live in Washington, DC and my 82 year old mother lives in Stockton. Her A/C recently stopped working and you all know how hot the central valley gets in summer. So Naturally I was very concerned. So off I go to YELP looking for an auto repair shop from 3,000 miles away that I have never used. I read the reviews about A-CARE AUTO REPAIR and they were really good. But what stood out for me was how many people were crazy about Rodney. Could all these positives things be true? Could this mythical creature exist? Because mom needed her A/C, I really didn't have a choice so I had my sister take her down to the shop. Turns out, the A/C compressor was blown because my idiot brother apparently put in refrigerant and did not read the gauge causing it to overfill by a lot and presto... he blew it all to hell. No worries says Rodney the car god. Within a few hours, Rodney fixed it and mom was back in business, Whew! She is now cool and happy and I am less stressed. Rodney also pointed out a few other issues that needed to be addressed and those she will come back and have done next week. Before they departed, Rodney told my sister, "You know, it's too bad - if your brother had done the refrigerant refill correctly by reading the gauge it came with, this would have been any inexpensive fix." Wise words Rodney the car god, wise words. The take-away from this review: 1) If your brother is an idiot... make sure he stays away from any activity more difficult than chewing gum. 2) If you have a mechanical problem with your car, don't know where to go and definitely don't want to get shafted, go to A-Care Auto Repair and see Rodney. Great prices. Nice and honest owner. Went in to replace all my brake pads and he noticed when he pressed on the brakes my steering wheel would shake. He recommended to have my rotors buffed out as he says doesn't needs to be changed right now. My car feels brand new again and no more squeaky brakes or shaking steering wheel.
