The review should be a ZERO but there's no option. These people claimed to fix my son's Apple computer laptop under the warranty. Computer is still not working. My son took it to Apple Store in San Francisco to see what's going on with it. According to the guys at the Apple Store, NOTHING WAS DONE and the computer is not repaired. They basically took advantage of a young, naive college student. What a scam! Do not under any circumstances go here for your repairs. Go to the manufacturer no matter how inconvenient. We tried calling the store and attempting to give them a chance to fix the issue or give us a refund (per the Apple Store suggestion) and they blew us off. I'm including photos of the "fixed" item to show nothing was done. The laptop was mailed back so all this was discovered after delivery. Shame on these scammers. read more

My wife's iPhone 16 Pro got water damage. It was great to see an Apple Authorized Service Provider in town, instead of having to shlep up to Los Gatos! Hari was amazing helping us with the replacement. Under Apple Care he explained it's a flat fee for a replacement device for water damage. Then he helped us navigate Apple Support due to a delay and back order of replacement devices for all orders! Hari helped us get Apple to upgrade the device because the replacement took an extended amount of time (over two weeks). We got the new device now, and are so happy with the service! Went in to get my laptop battery checked out. It was not charging. They said it's $75 to do the diagnostic And if they replace the battery then the $75 would get credited into the cost of the battery. I felt that was fair so I paid. A few days later they said they are not sure the issue is the battery or the motherboard but they didn't have a battery to test it. They can order one and test it and quoted me $389 to fix the battery. I asked what if you do all that and the battery is not the issue? Then they said it will be additional if the issue is something else, or I can just pay $75 more diagnostic fee to get my laptop back. At this point I am not shelling out $150 for a laptop that might not be fixed. I wish they were more upfront about the cost. If they said $150 diagnostic fee I would not have paid. Also after this experience I brought it to Apple and they looked at it for free. Don't bother with this place. The other reviews have a similar theme. read more

You know when you rely on your devices and all of a sudden, you are in limbo and you can't remember that cotton pickin' password that you signed up with Apple and thanks to improvements in technology passwords are saved...except that vital password that you haven't used in 11 years? Impossible to get through to them, you have to text them, but they don't answer your text. Why they can't pick up the phone to expedite things is always a mystery. They were very clear about expectations and also when they found a crack on my home screen, they talk to Apple and had to replace for free. I called apple support for service advice on my girlfriends macbook pro and they quoted $299 for the failed hard drive AND $99 for display replacement with applecare and the product still being under warranty. I decided to take it to Mobile Kangaroo instead of an Apple Store, as they are an authorized repair shop and they have no incentive to charge for something that is likely covered under warranty by framing it as "accidental damage." Anyway, the reservation system was simple, and the guy working at the shop met me on time. They fixed the display and found nothing wrong with the hard drive. They repaired it under warranty and the cost was $0. The repair was completed way quicker than an actual apple store would ever be--I think they completed it in 2 days overall and kept me updated via text the entire time. Will be taking future apple repairs here for sure, and I hope this place is able to stay in business. read more

Went to multiple computer shops and not one shop was able to help me with an issue I had with my key board. Kangaroo mobile was such a welcoming calming space and fixed my issue without any cost. As I'm a college student and biking is my way of transportation I felt out of luck because there is no other Apple Store in the Santa Cruz area but mobile kangaroo is the only Apple technician! Do not use this store for Apple products! Take the short drive to Monterey or Los Gatos to an Apple Store. I took my 2017 MacBook Pro there recently, a year after they installed a new battery for me. The MacBook now was not charging or dying quickly. They charged me $35 for a diagnosis, and then said the battery was OK so it was probably the hard drive and it would not be worth replacing for a Mac this old. So I bought a new MacBook on line, but ended up taking it to the Apple story to see if they could start up the old one to transfer my data. They opened it up, found some old water damage, and said Mobile Kang had probably not even opened up it up! Don't waste your money with these guys. They should not be an authorized Apple dealer when even the Apple Store staff don't trust them. read more

I was excited to learn that there is an Apple authorized repair shop in town. My Mac wasn't working so I called Applecare and they recommended mobile kangaroo. Before even walking in the front door I should've turned around. Physically the place is a dump. Had me a little worried. I dropped off my computer anyway. When I picked up my computer it was in worse shape than when I dropped it off. It actually wouldn't even power on. Drove over the hill to Apple and they fixed it very quickly. Mobile kangaroo also charges money for a warranty Applecare repair. When I called Applecare they said that mobile kangaroo is not supposed to charge me anything. Needed a damaged keyboard and battery replaced on my MacBook Pro. The parts were expensive, but I'm not ready to upgrade yet. Service and communication were timely. Since it's a small shop, you have to make an appointment, and the team might not always be able to perform the fix in a single day, but after dropping off my laptop in the morning for the diagnostics, I was able to pick it up later that afternoon. I really appreciated being able to continue using the laptop while the part was on order. 3 days later the part came in, and once again, Mobile Kangaroo was able to provide same-day turnaround. read more

These guys are scammers! I myself dabble in electronics repair for my friends so I have a soft spot for independent repair shops and understand the difficulties these shops face. But the tactics this shop employs is unethical and just wrong! I brought my Macbook in as I was referred by Apple for a LCD defect. The shop's rep appeared courteous and knowledgeable and assured me that no fees would be charged for tgis repair as long as there is no water or accidental damage signs. He then looked over the laptop and agreed that there we're no such signs. I left it overnight and received a invoice via text message today for $99. I tried calling the shop several times to no avail and finally I called back apple and they confirmed it should be free and advised me to just mail it in directly to Apple. After informing MK that I want to pick up my laptop (via txt) they decide to hit me with a diagnostics fee out of nowhere. This was not mentioned anywhere. Not was I the one thar made the appointment. This is not okay in my book. I cannot in good concious recemmend a company that employs scammer's tactics like this. I also have reason to suspect that the problem was just a loose/bad cable and not the entire LCD. Being a repair tech myself, I have came accross several LCD's with almost identical issue's that where linked back to a loose cable. These guys have epicly failed. I was referred to mobile kangaroo from Apple's online customer service. My computers battery was aging and going dead quick and needed to be replaced. I brought it in and was quoted $65 for diagnostic check that would be put toward the $269 total for a battery replacement and it would take about 5-7 business days. That was the top end of my budget for replacement but I decided to go ahead. 5 business days later they call me to tell me my computer is working fine, but just needs a battery replacement. I knew that was the issue and solution before I brought it in. The person on the phone then quotes me $369 and that it will be an additional 5-7 business days for them to get the part in. When I said that wasn't my initial quote, they told me that the original quote I was given was for a different model of computer, but they were given the correct model of the computer from Apple before I arrived and had the exact computer in their hands when they quoted me their price. Also a MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air, which was the stated reason for difference in prices, do not look similar enough to be confused for each other with a basic knowledge of Apple products. I decided to cut my losses and pick up my computer. Had I known from the beginning that it would be 14 days and $369 dollars for replacement I would not have taken it do be worked on. I am now down $65 dollars and I have the exact computer I dropped off with the same problem I identified before dropping off. The bait and switch may be a scam they do on everyone. Great customer service from the young man and woman. I brought my iphone thinking I would have to spend lots of $$$ to fix my recently dropped phone. Lucky me that it was only the screen protector that broke. Not only did they take my phone right away, but they said they would have it ready in half an hour, even though they seemed quite busy. They carefully took the invisible shield off as it was broken in a hundred little pieces and they did not charge me for their work! I don't have any idea how those folks got authorized to fix Apple phones or any phone. They aren't able to do a simple iPhone restore. After "servicing" my iPhone for 2 days, they came to the conclusion that it's a "motherboard issue", the restore is impossible and the phone cannot be used anymore (was stuck to the restore screen). Of course, they still charged me. Going home, I tried the restore myself via iTunes. It worked and problem was fixed. Now tell me that this business is not a scam. read more

I had to go there to repair my iPhone X as all the Apple stores are currently closed. My phone stopped working as a software update was interrupted, so I was quite sure the issue was software and not hardware. They took literally 2 minutes to check the phone, they probably just plugged it to iTunes and tried to turn it on. The feedback was: "Not repairable, we can give you a refurbished one for $549". I didn't accept, went back home and did some more research online and found the correct procedure to turn the phone on, just had to reinstall the OS. Now it is working as new. Boy where do I begin? They are careless, dishonest and provide poor workmanship. When I went to pick up my MacBook Air, I discovered it had been dented. I asked to speak to the person in charge. The man insisted it couldn't have been caused by them. I explained it wasn't that way before and I wanted to speak to his manager. There was a lot of hemming and hawing and then he said email me his contact info. Later I received an email from him, but it just linked to a web form, where I filed a ticket that they never responded to. I went to Mobile Kangaroo to get my son's iphone screen fixed after the phone was closed in the car door. They did a fabulous job - it was quick and they were even able to straighten out the frame which was a tad bent. The staff member that worked with me was kind, respectful, and super helpful. I am beyond unhappy with the service I rec'd from Kangaroo. As an authorized Apple Care vendor I went there to have my iPhone repaired. I was told that they were going to replace it instead. It would take 3 days--which seemed really odd to me but I was desperate so I agreed. I left my phone. They told me they would let me know when it was ready to pick up. That was Monday. I heard nothing. ( Thursday) I called and was told that it was ready to pick up. Overjoyed..I headed over on my way out of town. At the office a nice but vague and clearly clueless guy told me it wasn't ready and that I had to come back in 2 hours. I said no-- as I had to leave town. What ensued was a comedy routine worthy of SNL..the guy literally could not explain, make a decision or provide me with any information. It was unbelievable. I felt bad for him...but my god..it was just ridiculous. So I tried to be nice and basically told him what I needed. " here's what we'll do--please get the phone ready & then fed ex it to me next day and I will pay for it." He looked at me blankly. I left asking that his supervisor call me. After much back & forth with the supervisor I was told that indeed my phone would be Fed Exed to me in the next 2 days. They would send me an email with the tracking number. Well, it's now nearly a week. I have no phone, no email ever arrived ( so no tracking number), I have no way to contact fed ex without a tracking number ( i tried) and Kangaroo is closed ( it's now the weekend) . I dont have a landline so I have to use my laptop to communicate. I NEVER write negative reviews....like ever but I am so frustrated and fed up with the totally dingbatry ( is that a word??) lameness and utter incompetence of this office...and its really sad-- I think its the only Apple Authorized repair place i can go to.... I wouldn't want any one to go through this! It was awful. I wish I could select no stars..but that's not an option so I selected 1= "not good"--it was actually terrible :( read more

I was given my phone back without the SIM card. Then the staff incorrectly told me that my phone would work without it. It ended up being extremely inconvenient because I had to go to my carrier's store to get a new one, and they could have stolen some info from the card.
