While I was there and he was replacing it with a $30 battery (I got excited because he had one in stock and the price was reasonable - the one other place I found wanted $130 and three days to order it), I asked for a new screen protector. The one he put on is curling up at the edges and he said would be fine when I put the whole case back on, the case would keep it down. Frankly I'd have rathered to get one that worked without something else needing to hold it down. The battery he sold me was not charged, was second-hand and charges really slowly. Does it work? Yep. Did he get it all done in about 20 minutes? Yep. Did he encourage me to buy an external battery charger so that I always have a spare? Yep, and I can't blame him since I was the one who agreed to it. Does my phone still have charging difficulties and still take forever to charge? Yep. But at least it DOES charge. All in all, he did decent work. Didn't admit that the battery was second hand, though I'd have had to be blind not to spot it. The screen protector, new battery and external charger were $60. Was he good in a crunch? Yep. Did he fix the problem affordably? Yep.

I'll preface this with the fact that I am planning on ditching this phone as soon as the new one comes out, and I just needed something cheap and easy to carry me until this September. If that sounds like you, these guys are the right choice. Had these guys fix a cracked phone (front and back) and, while quick and affordable, the replacement parts are rather low quality. Back glass seems perfectly fine, other than the fact that my MagSafe charging isn't as secure as it once was. I had major issues with my screen after it was fixed but the staff were quick to help me out, even gave me a most of my money back for the display (I had already taken the phone to apple to get an OEM screen put on, and could not get them to give me the screen from these guys to return for a proper refund; all in all I'd say this is fair). All in all Id recommend these guys if you need a cheap quick fix so you can still qualify for apples early upgrade program or a trade in promotion, but if you're looking for a long term repair, it's best to go to the apple store for genuine apple parts that'll last you. Hopefully soon the Right To Repair movement will reach a point where all of these small business owners can get their hands on genuine parts for proper fixes and we can stop relying solely on a tech giant like Apple for our repairs and give our money back to the local guys.

Why was this store left with no gift cards if they were running low? Why did management not provide their employees with the tools they need to serve the stores customers? 2. Why did the employee I spoke with on the phone not advise that they were running low on gift cards? If there was any indication of a possibility that I wouldn't be able to sell my phones, I would not have made the 3 hour round-trip drive. But there was no mention of the possibility of issues, nor was I advised they wouldn't be able to complete my transaction if I didn't arrive shortly. Instead, this store wasted 3 hours of my time and a substantial amount of gas just to shrug at me. With so many mobile repair shops in Kingston, I'd recommend that you chose one that will provide you with accurate and pertinent information over the phone, and one that shows the slightest consideration for your time and efforts. "On October 13th, I went to this place in order to get the screen fixed on my Iphone 4S. After he repaired it screen by replacing it with a new one, one side of the screen did not work properly. Then he proceded to replace it for the second time. The next morning (Oct 14th) there was a discolouration on one side of the screen. The screen had another crack and the button to turn on/off the ringer had stopped functioning. I contacted him via phone call at around 11 am to ask for him to replace the screen again. We agreed that I was to call him when I was on my way to meet him. I called a couple of times when I was heading over, and I called when I arrived at this place. He never answered his phone. So I left a voicemail. I also sent an email with pictures of the discolouration and the broken screen; in it I suggested that he please send a refund via online money transfer. He later called back with a torrent of abusive language and a refusal to listen to reason and a vulgar suggestion that I should take my business elsewhere. He ended the call before I could even try to speak about the problem at hand. I was left with 70 dollars out of pocket, a broken phone and a really bad feeling of being insulted, duped and yelled at by a man trying to intimidate me."
