RE: Formal Complaint Against Ilderton Conversion (Charlotte, NC) I am writing to file a formal complaint against Ilderton Conversion, located in Charlotte, NC, regarding deceptive business practices, predatory sales tactics targeting senior citizens, and the repeated sale of defective commercial vehicles ("lemons") to my company, Helping Hands Network LLC. Helping Hands Network LLC provides essential medical transportation services for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. We rely heavily on safe, functional vehicles to transport vulnerable members of our community to their medical appointments. Unfortunately, Ilderton Conversion, specifically a representative named Mike, has severely compromised our operations and caused extreme financial hardship through a pattern of fraud and misrepresentation. The timeline of events is as follows: * April 2022: My company purchased a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica from Ilderton Conversion. The vehicle quickly developed severe mechanical and electrical issues, including a failing air conditioning system, a blacking out main computer console, and malfunctioning automatic doors. Ilderton's service department was completely unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. * April 2024: During an attempt to resolve the ongoing issues with the 2019 vehicle, I purchased and installed a brand-new auxiliary battery for it. * November 2024: Because they could not repair the 2019 Pacifica, Mike persuaded me to trade it in for a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica, guaranteeing it was a reliable, high-quality vehicle that would not suffer from the same issues. During this transaction, Ilderton carried over a $29,000 negative equity balance from the defective 2019 vehicle, inflating the total balance of the new vehicle to over $60,000. Furthermore, Mike explicitly assured me that the brand-new auxiliary battery I had just purchased in April 2024 would be transferred into the 2022 vehicle. * Current Issue (May 2026): The 2022 Pacifica began experiencing the exact same catastrophic electrical failures as the previous vehicle (AC failure, computer blackouts, and door malfunctions). When my assistant, James, brought the vehicle to Ilderton, we were told it was beyond their mechanical capacity and that we needed to take it to a certified Chrysler dealership. I recently took the vehicle to Hendrick Chrysler for a proper diagnostic evaluation. The service manager at Hendrick Chrysler uncovered definitive proof of fraud: Ilderton Conversion never transferred my new auxiliary battery as promised. Instead, they left an old, failing auxiliary battery in the 2022 Pacifica, which directly triggered the recurring electrical failures. It is clear that Ilderton intentionally withheld this component to resell it or keep it, while leaving me with a malfunctioning vehicle. Hendrix Chrysler provided copies of the old Auxiliary battery that left in my vehicle, and showed me how the new replacement supposes to look. When confronted, Ilderton shrugged off accountability, stating that the "stop-start" systems in Chrysler Pacificas only last a year and that the vehicle is no longer their problem. This critical information regarding the vehicle's known defects was deliberately concealed from me during the sale. I believe Ilderton Conversion knowingly and willfully took unfair financial advantage of two senior citizens who lacked specialized mechanical knowledge. They have trapped my business in over $60,000 of debt for a vehicle we can no longer safely use for our disabled clients, all while capitalizing on a vehicle we no longer even own. Desired Resolution: To rectify this severe injustice, I am seeking a full accountability of this transaction with my bank in which Ilderton has been paid in full. Ilderton Conversion must take the defective 2022 Chrysler Pacifica back, clear the entire outstanding financial balance associated with this account, and alleviate the predatory debt burden they have placed on my business. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and for investigating these predatory business practices. Sincerely, Elvira McCall Owner,
