I have picked up takeout from here often and I also frequent this place for lunch and their happy hour. The atmosphere is modern and stylish with a nice bar area that lots of people mention in other reviews. The vibe feels lively but still relaxed enough for lunch or drinks with friends. They have a sleek interior and the bar is a fun spot to hang out. Their happy hour is only on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30 and it's worth planning around that. I've grabbed a few happy hour bites and drinks and they are always good. They do have creative cocktails and quality sushi and small plates during happy hour. I will say their non-lunch prices are on the higher end compared to other Asian fusion places around here, but they do offer a big variety of options. You can get everything from sushi and sashimi to ramen, noodles, rice bowls, and more creative fusion entrees. For what you get the variety and quality make it worth it to me. The food is always yummy whether I am grabbing lunch, takeout, or eating in. Everything I have ordered has been flavorful, fresh, and comes out fast which I love when I am grabbing lunch on a work break or picking up takeout after a long day. I've never had a slow order or a mix-up with takeout which is something I appreciate. Overall Moca Asian Bistro is one of my favorite Asian fusion spots around Hewlett. Menu draws from various regions of China, Chinese-American, Sushi, American Hibachi, Thai, Indian, Malaysian, Japanese, and Western cuisines. We ordered pick up directly through their website. It was pricey, but everyone was happy with their food. Order was ready on time. Neatly packed and nothing missing. I had the roasted Peking duck which was only a "half" duck for $43. The set included steamed baos, scallions, and sauce. Duck was perfectly greasy. The skin lost its crispness from traveling, but I suspect it would have been perfect if we dined in based on the color and some of the crispy remnants. A fun entree to eat. I also shared some of the yellow Thai curry. Pretty good curry considering it was a fusion restaurant in the suburbs. A bit of a sticker shock at $27 for a veggie curry. That's more inline with a ritzy downtown Manhattan or Brooklyn restaurant. I arrived early before the order figuring I would grab a quick drink at the bar while waiting, but nobody was working at the bar. Relatively nice atmosphere. At my list visit I had the seafood yellow Thai curry dish and it had the right amount of spice and paired well with my Pinot Grigio. Sushi was delicious! We had the volcano along with several classics: California, Boston and shrimp tempura. All were fantastic. The waitress was helpful but could have been more involved. I recently met a friend for lunch after not having been here for a while and enjoyed my three-roll special. Our server was prompt with the food and we had a peaceful and relaxing meal while catching up. The rolls had a nice amount of fish in each, not found like that everywhere. I would only recommend that they refill the tea to keep it hot, but otherwise, a pleasant lunch experience and the lunch specials themselves, which include miso soup or salad, are a great value. So I was in hewlett and thought we would try the hewlett MoCA, the waiter was on his phone the whole time he was waiting on on. He never took our menus, or offer us more water, he was more concerned what was on his phone, as we where leaving the hostess we notice was on her phone as well. Get off your phones and work. I went to MoCA for first time and had dinner there with my sister. I was disappointed not to see a bento box option for dinner. Since I wanted to try a sampling of dishes I ordered 5 appetizers. The portion sizes varied with the short ribs and pork spare ribs having most to eat with duck tortilla being the smallest. Vegetable tempura was fried to perfection but lacked flavor. It needed some salt and the dipping sauce was not enough to save it. They did not have jasmine tea only green tea and I enjoyed my unsweetened iced tea. The food came in three intervals with our plates changed each time which was great. However I think they were short staffed with only one served working 10 tables so he only came when the food came and refilled my iced tea once. It was nice not to be rushed but the lag between the dishes left us eating more of the earlier dishes with little room for the last two dishes. The grilled chicken satay was dry and only the fish and beef satay tasting better. Tempura veggies you only get one of each veggie and the duck tortilla I felt the avocado and hoisin sauce overpowered the duck. The peanut sauce for the satay was runny and the best dish of the night was the beef short ribs. The pork spare ribs were tender and came off the bone nicely but the sweet and sour sauce tasted like America bbq sauce. My mom makes Chinese bbq spare ribs better than the restaurant. Ambience was nice but tables and booths are close to each other so it can get loud. It was a fun experience but I would like to try lunch next time. read more

So this place has closed and reopened a few times. I've been coming here since I was in HS and always loved it. She immediately took another group without asking who was here first. I didn't make a stink about it but I was a little annoyed. Food was decent, and packed some flavor. Server was bland and not too engaged in her job. Upon finishing, I asked for dessert menu. I looked it over, didn't like any choices. It's very clean, and smells clean, (not sure about the bathroom didn't go in there) they have great Jazz music playing! It's a good atmosphere. Lots of parking, I had no trouble getting parking. Two of my friends left food on their plates, I and the other two didn't leave anything safe to say the food is pretty good. I had the Avocado salad I enjoyed the dressing they put on it, could have gone for more lettuce though. I also had green tea, I love that they bring you the whole tea pot and not just a cup of tea, it's so annoying to have to wait for hot water. They get a 3 star because they had a cook/chef walking through the dining room wheeling trash..... that is not comforting... I don't want to see anyone who handles my food taking out the trash while I'm eating.... They need a busser or something to handle that, not someone who is cooking the food. Also, their staff isn't super friendly, y'all know I'm big on service. Now that I went to a Korean BBQ spot that had AMAZING service they've raised the bar for other food spots. read more

My uncle is disabled and almost voided on himself and the lady at the front desk made him wait, even after I explained he was disabled. The dining experience is not only about the food, it's also about the service and professionalism of staff.
