Cute location on the Restaurant Strip on Park Avenue. Former home of the long gone and loved Sugo, this is a great addition. We had the eggplant parm, bronzino, mussels, and salad. The prices are very fair and the portion size is excellent. Very attentive service from when we first entered until we left. If not for Marvel on the Boardwalk, we would have had dessert there, too. I want anyone reading this post I waited over 1 month to hear back from the owner Matt after my last visit to the restaurant on Saturday night October 20th. I have been coming here for about 5 years after my cousin recommended them. I have sent many friends to eat here and have posted several 5 star reviews with tons of photos. I don't know if any restaurant could find a more loyal fan. Please read all my previous 5 star reviews. I made a reservation to come here with my cousin as he does not live too far from them as he has been recovering from heart surgery and I did not want him to have to travel. We've eaten here together in the past and always had a great experience. I even had to rent a car to drive out from Brooklyn as my car was out for detailing for a few days. Our server Elise was the same person I've praised to the owner Matt and others as everything in the past was spot on. Fast forward to Saturday October 20th and we had a 6:00 pm reservation. Coincidently our waitress was Elise who did remember us. The drive was over 1 hour 30 minutes in traffic and I wanted to make sure we were not rushed. I said I wanted to order the appetizers then wait to order the mains. I specified I did not want to be rushed, needed time to digest the appetizers and she said they always take the apps and mains together. I did not have an issue in the past so I said ok. Well here is where everything fell apart. We ordered drinks, a pitcher of Sangria, and 4 appetizers. Just as we were taking the last bite of the appetizers the mains came out even before the plates were cleared from the appetizers. We did not say anything at that point and ate our entrees. We ordered desert and before we were finished around 7:50 pm Elise put down the check. 10 minutes later Elise came back and said "The next reservation is here and we need the table so you will have to leave" REALLY??? We just spent about $400. HOW RUDE!!! I recapped the appetizer issue and said since when is there a time limit on the table? We were not even there 2 hours and did not plan on staying more than another 20 to 30 minutes anyway. She said technically we give you 2 hours and up to a 20 minute grace period. I said that's ok, you've made it clear we are not welcome or wanted and said we are going to leave. We still have her a very good tip besides this. I did not want to bother Matt who I know and decided to call when I got home. I called at 10:30 pm that night and he got on the phone. I asked if now was a good time or if he wants to speak tomorrow or Monday. He said now was ok. I recapped everything, expressed my disappointment and said it was shocking and embarrassing. He said he would look into it and promised to call me back. They have my phone number and I confirmed it with him just to make sure. Well guess what? Matt NEVER CALLED!!! How RUDE IS THAT!!! It's now been over 1 month so I guess some of the negative reviews other customers have posted are true. This was the ultimate slap in the face. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE!! He turned a LOYAL FAN into a DETRACTOR. I hope anyone reading reviews for this restaurant will take warning and not EVER EAT HERE. This is a matter of principle! You can have the best location, food, prices, decor, service, and if you fail to keep your promises you will lose all your credibility. With all his years of experience as a chef and businessman he has not learned that. EVERY CUSTOMERS SATISFACTION IS IMPORTANT. He basically told me that even though I have spent thousands of dollars in his restaurant I don't deserve a phone call back that was promised. I guess Matt's customers don't matter. read more

This is my parents' favorite restaurant in Long Beach so we order from here every time we visit. The family special is unreal!!! The food, the top-notch quality, the offerings - a big platter of eggplant Parmesan and their crispy fried chicken, with cauliflower on the side, big Mexican salads, and even caramel ice cream for dessert. Always reliably five stars. Fed all six of us and was such a treat. Can't wait for next time. 5 stars!!!! read more

Hello to all , Had Dinner at L B Social this weekend, it was incredible. There were 6 of us, the dinners we ordered were wonderful, all 6 of us had something different and loved all the food and drinks. The cookie in the pan was amazing what a great experience we can't wait to get back. The owner checked on the table a few times and left us all with a good feeling that he loves what he does. The parking worked out well with a feeling you were safe walking to the center island parking area. Wow!! This place is a gem. I love coming here and each time is such a wonderful experience. The staff is always on point whether you sit at the bar or with your family at a table. The staff treats you so well. It is hard to get a reservation on the weekends since it's a smaller place, but I'm telling you definitely make that reservation you won't regret it. The food is always perfection. The burrata and sweet potato app, baked clams, oysters always fresh and don't forget to try their shrimp bisque when they have it! I always get the angry lobster as an entree. It is truly amazing but everything they serve they do great. Don't skip dessert either crème brûlée amazing, cookie amazing! Baked clams were good, chopped salad was good, mussels in garlic sauce was very bland and some of the mussels were so small they weren't worth the work, and no bread for dipping. We were a walk-in party of 7. Everyone was super patient. Drinks, appetizers and entrees came accordingly. Every plate we ordered was beyond delicious as well as the drinks and dessert. We recently moved to the area and, with our daughter home briefly from medical school, decided to dine at LP Social. While the food showed promise--the lamb, chicken parm, and salmon were all enjoyable, and the overly salted risotto was graciously replaced--the overall experience was marred by shockingly poor service. Drinks took nearly 30 minutes to arrive. Our server was largely absent throughout the evening, yet we observed her being attentive and friendly with other tables. It was hard not to question whether our treatment had something to do with the color of our skin--we are Indian--and that possibility left us feeling disheartened and unwelcome. We were surprised to be told that appetizers must be ordered with mains, and could not be placed separately--a rigid policy we've never encountered in similar establishments. When the chef, attending to another table's complaint, noticed we hadn't received any bread, he kindly offered some, which only further highlighted the neglect from our server. To make matters worse, we were seated near the front door, far from the main dining room--an uninviting and uncomfortable placement... the ambience was not the best. We value hospitality and always tip generously--usually 20-22%. This time, we left 15%, not out of spite, but genuine disappointment and pity for the experience. read more

We came in early on a Saturday at 5 PM and after talking with the hostess or server (hard to tell what her job was, she was just sitting by the bar) that there are no tables because of reservations they have at 6, we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was pretty cold to us the whole time - not rude, but definitely not friendly or polite. He pretty much ignored us the whole time and we had to keep flagging him down since he would talk to others at the bar instead. The food was okay. Maybe this is a place that is just for locals. Wife was in the city so decided to stop by on my own. Went at around 5. Sat at bar. Was greeted warmly and ordered a Stoli martini. No Stoli? No problem. Grey Goose was a good replacement. Ordered a chopped salad and Pappardelle Carbonara . Waitress suggested grilled shrimp add on. Good choice. Matt, the owner, suggested an Australia wine to go with the pasta. Spot on. Wow. This place was spectacular. We walked in around 8:30 on a Saturday and it was jam packed. The manger/ hostess was so accommodating and got us seated as fast as possible. We ordered the potstickers as an appetizer and let me say they were just amazing. The service was fast and impeccable. For our main dishes, we ordered the salmon with risotto and the chicken Parm. The chicken Parm was cooked perfectly. The salmon melted in your mouth and was crusted perfectly. The flavors of the meal worked so well. Our server was so kind and helpful with picking out our meals. The ambience is perfect, in here you feel like you're teleported to a different place. Quick update since I visited last month 4/26 to be exact. Firstly make sure to bring cash like I did to, avoid the credit card fees(too many places doing this nowadays). Second off food still tastey so I'll add a star from last review since I was in a mood last review. Lastly, I understand they are opening a new location, that's good but maybe you should pay more attention to this location... Autumn Sangria in April is laughable, criminal even! Place has great food. Staff very nice too! We had the chicken meatballs, dumplings, Brussels sprouts and shrimp scampi. Was just delicious, actually. The vibe is a bit quirky with lots of loud 40-70 year olds eating and partying, but i guess the higher prices keep the surfer dudes away and the great food attracts people who just like great food and are tired of the pubs and diners. This place comes highly recommended in the neighborhood. Not only did we hear it through the grapevine but it is constantly recommended on FB. So happy to have been able to finally try it. Definitely worthy of all the raves and recommendations. This is our first date night out in LB and we had a fabulous time. The service was excellent-Noelle was very sweet. We had 1/2 dozen of raw oysters (super fresh), clams with chorizo and kale, double cut pork chops (per the hubby it was a great cut of meat but needed a little more seasoning) and what I've seen so many people post and their number 1 dish, halibut (really loved this dish). The alcohol list was very extensive and they had lots of wine choices by the glass that you can also order by the bottle for $33. This is one of the first restaurants my Husband and I went to when we felt comfortable enough to actually sit outside and eat a meal from a restaurant. We were walking our very large dog and stumbled on it when we noticed they served oysters! The staff was immediately friendly not only to us but to our beloved pet who is sometimes not greeted at all. We had to wait a little but one of the waitresses came right over to us and asked if we wanted a cocktail while we waited, which of course we did! (The Spicy Margarita was delish Erika, thanks for recommending!) The rest is history, we've been back several times over the course of the summer and I've even invited friends to come because the food and service are impeccable. To be honest the food is so good we can't move past the appetizers because when we go there we're so hooked on them. When I did go with one of my friends, she insisted on getting the halibut entre which I must say was mouth-watering. Every time we go we're greeted like friends and family, the staff has gotten to know us and it's just a really nice feeling to know you can go somewhere, feel special and enjoy a guaranteed yummy fresh meal!
