I have been enjoying the summers on MVY for the past 5 years. I have been enjoying a morning latte and bagel from MM for just as long..... but, I must say this summer has been exceptionally disappointing. I understand the issues facing restaurants during these unprecedented times. This does not fall on me as I am a 25 yr veteran in the food service industry. However, after multiple days of bad experiences and multiple Mornings of speaking to managers at the store level - I feel it is now time to address the wider audience. Issues have been everything from From pulling shots for lattes that are exceptionally weak in flavor to no mocha in my mocha latte today I ordered a bagel.... and paid extra ($2.00) for slices of tomatoes.... keep in mind in years past my slices of tomatoes would NEVER be (2.00) each. Today I paid $2.00 for 1 very very thin slice of tomato. I find this repulsive. I could go to the grocery store on circut avenue and pay 1.45 for an entire tomato! Do better MM! Do better! No one wants to spend for Mediocre service or product and the lack of detail WILL catch up to you! read more

Good place that has a couple of locations on Martha's Vineyard. Good coffee and cheerful staff. Recommend.

We have gotten coffee here several times and it is pretty good. The lines are usually long but move fairly quick. They also have pastries and other treats but we have never tried them. The space is very tight and you are tripping over your fellow patrons while waiting for your coffee or when getting cream and sugar. read more

For starters, the ambiance or lack there of was utterly pathetic . We got berated by the staff for opening the door because "THE AC IS ON, we'll see you soon." so we waited outside patiently waiting for our breakfast , still in good spirits. the good spirits lasted til we stepped foot into the AC as the lady behind the counter began telling us what they don't have & when we asked what flavor bagels we were abruptly told to look in the display case without the flash of a smile . as we're trying to look at the menu that has been scribbled in 12 point font in cryptic demeanor in chalk, my friend got curious about cream cheese flavors and politely asked for scallion cream cheese , without missing a beat several workers were eager to shout to us that it's actually SCALLION BACON cream cheese. I decided to try a place down the street for a coffee after this encounter, with that being said the bagel was pretty good, but due to the interaction with the staff i will never be coming back which is unfortunate as a frequent summer visitor to the island who used to really enjoy this place and showing it to friends and family. read more

I came here early morning to get my drink. It's a tiny coffee shop but people kept coming to grab their drinks! Must be a good coffee shop. I ordered an iced Chai Latte which was not too sweet to my like. It was refreshing on a muggy morning! The staff was very efficient and got my drink and got out quickly. read more

We went to Mocha Motts this morning since it's right around the corner from our hotel. It's a simple and unassuming place, and pretty much all the locals there knew each other, which was nice to see. We got an iced coffee and a cafe au lait--both were delicious, especially the former. We shared a warm chocolate chip cookie with our daughter; it had just come out of the oven and was still melty. Nothing mind-blowing, but well-done. We also got this sunbar thing which was like a magic bar, but healthyish. Pretty good. All in all, a cute spot to grab your morning joe with no bells or whistles. Wanted to like this place, but unfortunately could not. Average beverages and tasteless food. Ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. No flavor at all. Needed to add additional salt to get through half of it. Lower, downstairs location dank and HOT. AC on wall but not on. Staff friendly. So many other locations that are much better. read more

Always a great place on the vineyard to grab a coffee. It's a little shop downstairs on the main strip on Circuit Street in Oak Bluffs. They have hot and cold coffee drinks, but no frozen coffees. They are cash only, so you're cards won't fair here. They have nice little treats and snacks as well, all homemade, and super tasty. They have pumpkin seed granola bars, cookies, muffins, and dessert bars. The iced mocha is bomb. The line can get pretty crazy in the am, so try to time it right. Great pit stop for a nice pick me up! read more

I do not drink coffee nor do I like coffee. My amazing fiancé drinks one coffee daily. Based on the reviews, we chose this place. My fiancé loved his coffee. Me: hot chocolate and REAL whipped cream. Low-fat milk. It is all a balance... Can certainly imagine the long lines that snake outside and up the stairs. Thank goodness we are here during the off season so we cruised right inside. Polite staff. Easy to see why they win the "Best Coffee" awards every year. read more

This is my favorite coffee spot on MV- not that I've been to many others - because mostly come here The coffee is very good, the baked goods (I think they get from off island) and sandwiches are nice too. There is always a line in early morning- which speaks for itself. The space is small by has a great vibe if you want to sit. We went here every morning on a recent trip. The coffee was good and they offer flavored coffees also which I enjoy. The bagels were fresh and flavorful. Our bagel sandwiches were very tasted. The cheddar cheese actually tasted like cheddar. They have plenty of muffins and baked goods also. We got the sunflower seed bars to go that are vegan and they were a great afternoon snack after a long bike ride. Seems like the locals like it. There were always groups of happy people chatting over coffee. That would be our go to place also if we lived there. read more

Very good coffee and breakfast spot! We ate the breakfast burrito and a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The bagel was delicious, very fresh. And the fried egg was done well. The breakfast burrito came with a spicy-ish salsa which made this quick-bite memorable. The coffee here is phenomenal. I got an iced mocha which came piled high with whipped cream. My girlfriend just got a regular coffee which was very smooth and didn't have the bite that some coffee has. Overall, I am really happy we wandered into this place on our vacation. Mocha Motts is like the Starbucks of MV, just way way better in every way possible. Great coffee, and an awesome staff.

This place is less than desirable compared to other coffee places on the island. The lines were extremely long which led me to believe that the coffee would be equally as satisfying. The coffee was standard at best and the weight for two lattes was probably 15 minutes. The worker behind the counter was not communicating well and was leaving drinks sit on the counter without identifying whose order it was. This led to us accidentally grabbing somebody else's drink. Since all of the drinks were labeled with the same lettering, we assumed that it was ours. Upon finding out that it was not, the worker clearly pointed us out to the woman who's drinking really was and try to shame us for grabbing the wrong drink. After trying other coffee spots on the island I would certainly say that I will not return to this location. read more

When I was in Martha's Vineyard, I was taken by all of the quaintness of shops and stores, and especially the Gingerbread Houses. But after all the strolling in the crisp weather, you need a warm cup of something. So, I went to Mocha Mott's in Oak Bluffs. This little coffee shop carries all organic and fair trade coffee, along with homemade baked goods and some light, cafe foods for breakfast and lunch. Positivity, good vibes, and chill tunes are what they like the cafe to be fueled by, while fueling you with some caffeine. I ordered a Cappuccino, complete with their signature logo-ed cup. Nice, rich espresso, topped with some frothy foam. Win. Win. read more

Dogs are not allowed - not even support dogs. This is most likely illegal. Waited in line 45 mins to be told they wouldn't serve me. I asked if I could place an order and wait outside for it. They wouldn't allow that either. A patron offered to watch my 5lb Yorkie while I ordered. The coffee was not worth the trouble - was sub par. Bagel was ok. read more

Had an iced coffee the other day and it was pretty good with basic cream and sugar. Also, plain bagel with plain cream cheese was delicious. However, the major reason for voting 2 stars is because the inside of this restaurant is plastered with political signs. People come to the vineyard to get good food and have fun at the beach, not listen to people hate on President Trump. read more

Everytime I visit Oak Bluffs, we hit Mocha Motts for coffee and breakfast. The cold brew is descent but I ordered a bagel with veggie cream cheese and there was the tiniest shmeer I've ever seen and not one hint of any veggies. The bagels are Cape Cod bagels and are not the best either. read more

Ladies behind counter had a rude attitude and didn't seem like they wanted to assist us. She yelled at me when I asked for a baked good because she didn't understand why I couldn't grab it off the display myself. (Weird right?) Coffee had wayy too much milk to coffee ratio, should've ordered a splash. If I were to visit again I'd need to have thoroughly read through the coffee selection and ordered something with a stronger coffee flavor. read more

My sister went the previous day and enjoyed it, so we went back. Honestly, I was disappointed. I got an iced latte and an iced mocha. The latte tasted like straight milk and both the coffees were so weak. we also got a chocolate ganache brownie and it was stale and tasted old. they did make the iced mocha with milk when we asked for almond milk, but they fixed the drink and were very kind about it. i want to like this place but our experience wasn't a good one. read more

A perfect morning on the Vineyard started with... getting up early to walk to the beach from our hotel, watching lazy waves lap the shore as I sat on a beautiful, deserted beach, taking endless photos of this magical place... and stopping at Mocha Mott's to pick up the most yummy coffee to bring back to the sleeping husband (who was snuggling with an equally sleepy baby). The coffee was crazy good; Dan likes his coffee regular, but I love anything froufrou. (I had a sugar-free raspberry latte, which was pure heaven.) Best coffee I've had on the island, and some of the best coffee I've had in general. Adorable shop (watch those stairs early in the morning, Yelpers... I love this place! Down a flight of stairs in what sometimes feels like a secret cavern of coffee, you enter into a cute small shop, half of which is seating (mostly booths) and the other half is the counter/coffee prep area...lots of light-colored wood, very homey feeling. The coffee is good (although they make their iced mochas in the wrong order - never pour hot coffee over ice, it dillutes!!! Always add the coffee to the milk, THEN pour the concoction over the ice!), barristas are pleasant, music can sometimes be good, other times awful....I assume this is depending on the whim of the employees? One day it'll be obscure rap, then punk metal, then gutteral Tom Waits....no two days are even remotely the same, it seems.... I started going here a long time ago, when it was owned by Mott himself. He's long since sold it, but little has changed since...that's nice. There's another location in Vineyard Haven, but I prefer this one! I always hit Mocha Mott's almost daily while on the island...definitely one of my favorite things to do on MV!! Oh, and this place is NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE, unless there's some magical other entrance besides the long flight of stairs down...anyone else know of one? And there is NO outdoor seating at this location...if you want that, you have to go to the VH location (where the old "Get a Life" Cafe used to be..)! read more

Morning coffee addicts flock to Mocha Mott's and I am one of them. (Don't look too closely- I am a wasted wreck in the morning.) It's down below street level, so there are stairs to deal with. (Not easy for those with strollers or hips in need of replacement.) There are plenty of places to sit, but I usually clutch my caffeine tightly and rush out to work. It can be kind of cold and drafty down there, too. Great bagels, breakfast sandwiches and more. I do wish they offered more options for people who can't eat wheat or dairy, but this is a repetitive message in most of my dining reviews so I should stop before I get too boring on this topic. They do have a fabulous sesame seed bar made with honey that I adore. I want that recipe. Nice, friendly staff and very kid friendly. When I want to spoil someone, I buy them a few bagels from Mocha Motts. Bagel lovers feel they are the best on the island. read more

We got the iced latte. It was a ton of milk with one shot of espresso. Tasted almost like slightly flavored coffee milk. This also cost $3.75. If I'm paying that much, i'd appreciate a muuuch tastier drink. Maybe a bit more espresso? Not just milk... My father also got a coffee which was undrinkable.
