Once I moved, going home came a very big deal to me and embraced Michigan, and more importantly, Kalamazoo became so much of a bigger deal to me. Each time I have been home since 2007, I have stopped into The Spirit of Kalamazoo to check out what new items they may have that I feel I "need." I have gotten things over the years that now I wished I got two of, specially the "Just Another Animal in the Zoo" cup that I bought in pink, but broke and I cannot find anywhere online to replace. The store has lots of odds and end art pieces from local artist, some of which I pick up as I go for when I can make an amazing room filled with things from home and sports, especially since I am a die hard Michigan sports fan. The staff are always friendly and helpful but also let you shop without hovering over you. I am very glad that I can help this local business each time I am home, as it has become part of my journey now.

She said that since it had been two months, she wouldn't refund the $18 we paid. We, once loyal customers, won't be back. They responded quickly and I was able to order a large pan of banana pudding for pickup on Christmas Eve. The order was ready when I arrived, and I liked the exterior and the interior of the shop. The owner and the worker I saw were both smiling when I came in and both seemed really friendly. The portion size was larger than I anticipated so we had more than enough for our family.
