I have been eating here for years. I don't live as close as I used to, however, today I made the trip to dine in. We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome. It was busy so about a 5 minute wait for seating. It's a small intimate establishment. We ordered our usual which is the #2. I'm a creature of habit so although they have a big menu, I don't deviate from what I tried and fell in love with. The medium spice I've grown so accustomed to, I think next is medium +. Favorite Thai place in Kzoo! This place is a little hole in the wall, but super comforting at the same time. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. (You'll get a tiny discount if you pay in cash.) The Tom Ka/Tom Yum soups are a must have--very flavorful and fit the bill when we want comfort food. Try with rice or noodles and it's a perfect meal all on its own! Also highly recommend the pad Thai and the massaman curry. They also offer a range of spice levels and they pack a punch! Tried to call in take out but couldn't get through... decided to just make the drive and order in restaurant, which seemed to be the standard way for making orders from what I could tell by the line of people waiting in the tiny entrance. I love spicy and their 4 spicy was just about right for me (you never do know with Thai spiciness until you try it - my husband had his a 3 and thought it was too spicy). You cannot go wrong coming to this place. It is small, warm and inviting. The staff (hi Aries!) is BEYOND COMPARE! Their food is delicious and always very authentic. The menu can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming but just ask someone and they will guide you in the right direction! My husband always orders their beef larb. Looking for a legit Thai restaurant in this area. Ordered chicken satay, it was very dry, and looked like it was sitting there for awhile. Also ordered green curry. It was decent, but not like it had any Thai basil or green curry flavors. Meh The rice included was plain nasty. It was grey, smelled kinda weird and was not anything I would chance to eat. This is a vegan review: Bangkok Flavor has a nice ambiance and atmosphere for dine in. It seemed clean and orderly. There was one gender neutral bathroom which was clean, however the motion activated paper towel dispenser was not working. The service was quick and friendly. I was going to order the Green curry which I always do at Thai restaurants, but unfortunately they couldn't make it vegan, so I had to order the Vegetable curry. I got my food and noticed that the vegetable curry was a little watery rather than creamy. The flavors were good, but I think the fact that it was watery makes me wonder if it would've tasted differently if it was creamier in texture. Of course I'm basing my review on the curry dish alone, (especially since I couldn't order the green curry which is my go to at every Thai restaurant!) I don't know how their other dishes would fair in the areas of portion and flavor. However the fact that they can't make certain dishes vegan was disappointing. The portion size was enough to last more than 1 meal; however, you won't want to stop eating. I had more than enough for lunch the next day, and it tasted just as good then. I cannot rave about this place enough. We ordered takeout and were quoted 20 min. They were incredibly busy and it is a family business. We weren't in a rush so we sat and had a drink while waiting. Seems like the company does its best to keep things quiet and comfortable with music that is truly relaxing. Ok, hear me out. While the dining room is tiny and quite typical, and the service is consistently pretty good, these 4 stars are for flavor (which is 10/10). This restaurant taught me to love Thai food. I have never been dissatisfied with a dish, but my absolute favorite is the gang kew wan. It is the only green curry on their menu, and it is full of delicious veggies. The sweet coconut flavor mixed with the generous veggies, your protein of choice (I always go with chicken), and your choice of spice (I prefer medium or hot) makes for an unforgettable dish. Whenever I visit my family at Kalamazoo , I need to have their curry fried rice . It is always on list ! The taste is so unique and excited my every taste buds.
