I have been here pretty often as it is the best customizable pizza place near me. Mod is very similar to Blaze pizza but does have its unique aspects. There are so many types of pizzas, toppings, and sauces you can choose from to make the perfect pizza. Personally, I switch between the high rise and regular pizza. Both are great options! The place is also really nice to dine in as there is abundant seating and it is located in a booming area with a lot of stores nearby. The only thing is that sometimes the pizza isn't fully cooked and is not crispy, but that only happens sometimes. There is no limit and no charge for extra ingredients. Pizza is cooked in a gas/brick oven while you wait/watch. Their sauces taste good and the options are many. The newly designed dining area leaves a bit to be desired as it has blinding spotlights that shine in your eyes while trying to eat. This place is good if you like pizza with a lot of different toppings. I do not but I'm still recommending this place. I went with my wife. She's one to get what I consider to be exotic pizza. Trouble is, it's the same price if I get 10 toppings, so this place really isn't worth it to me. But, back to my lovely wife, who gets olives, mushrooms, peppers, spinach, artichokes, broccoli, pineapple, etc. great place for her! The pizza is reasonably priced for her, and overpriced for me. But since I'm married to her, we go where she wants (sometimes). Look, my pizza was good, but I can think of a dozen other places I can get that for less. THE CZARS OF 'ZA A fast-fired personal pie at this chain is tasty sure enough, but the real victory is thanks to their drink array. Coming here for lunch on a day when I shadowed Nichole C to school, I was delighted to use a pair of pizza coupons I received at a Yelp event many moons ago. Though I had some concerns they'd balk in accepting both freebie vouchers at once, the staff didn't bat an eye when redeeming them (phew!) MOD specializes in custom pizza creations, but they've also got plenty of other ideas on a board near where the queue line forms. The "mad dog", "calexico", and "caspian" are favorites if you can't decide on a build-your-own pie. NC got a seasonal option with artichokes and white sauce, while I chose a spicy variant with pepperoni and jalapenos with a sriracha drizzle. The topping selection here is wonderful; you can get everything from greek olives to gorgonzola, rosemary to roasted red peppers. And they don't charge extra! Both our pizzas were outstanding. Sometimes thin crusts stay too floppy or get burnt in the oven (barf), but MOD manages to walk the thin line between these. In a span of 2 weeks I've had 'za from 3 different places, and this was easily the best yet. They also feature garlicky sticks and cinnamon bread for those who feel like overdosing on carbs. Beer -- and wine! -- are offered, wicked props for that. Employees were pretty nice and our food came out in a jiffy. Where MOD really breaks the mold is with their unparalleled collection of homebrewed drinks. In addition to a normal black tea and tart lemonade, this location has a blackberry beverage and a simply sublime caramelized pear iced tea. It's truly the best I've ever tasted, that stuff was crazy addictive. * TL;DR * At some point in the last few years, the market became oversaturated with places that do quick assembly line build-your-own-sh*t, and we saw places like Blaze, Pie Five, and Bricks spring up like rampant weeds. Eventually the bubble burst and many of them closed their doors. This MOD in Bloomindgale is still standing, thankfully, as their pizzas come hot out of the oven with as many insane toppings as you'd like (carrots and honey, anyone?) Highly recommend this location. Came in to pick up some Sunday lunch and was not surprised that it was busy I mean obviously. Waited about 5 minutes till I stepped up to order, had ordered 3 11"pizzas; Dillon James, Mad Dog, and Calexico. All were so good and so light and airy. Love the crisp on parts from the open oven. Also ordered a cesar salad to share with everyone and wow it's like up there on my cedar salads lists, the cesar dressing itself is a 10/10 and something new, additional small cut of pieces of tomato, had doubts when I saw but it works. I hadn't been here in a while so I thought I'd give it a shot for something different so I got a 6 inch and on the menu board it was something like $8.39 When I went to pay the total was over $11 and I did not order a drink he asked me if I wanted a receipt and I purposely got it because I'm like somebody overcharged me I look on there and it rung me up for a 10 inch so being that's almost a three dollar difference I did go to the register and say something and they don't look like they appreciated that but I don't appreciate being overcharged. I don't know how many people probably don't catch that when the prices are already sky high, but I don't really like to be bait and switched the pizza is not that great for over 9 dollars with tax for a 6 inch pizza I wanted to get a mini salad but that was the same price and I was looking at the bowl and I'm thinking I could make that myself. It's like two dollars so I didn't even get the salad but I won't go back here and it was lunchtime and there were only maybe four customers in here the entire time I was there and I can kind of see why employee attitudes need to change. I enjoy customizing this as my family can order whatever they want and I dont have to compromise for what I want. Scratch my last review. Super pissed right now. There is no training on allergies!!! Now that I see there is dairy in the cauliflower crust, I am truly disappointed with the staff not knowing that. I asked for a cauliflower crust pizza with vegan cheese and they didn't blink an eye. They made it and I took it home to my mother who has dietary restrictions. Had my mom been truly allergic and not for a cancer diet (which to me is still serious) someone could have had a horrible reaction. WHY DON'T THEY KNOW THIS?  I call and tell this kid there is dairy in the cauliflower, and he said "let me look, oh yeah I didn't know it had eggs" EGGS! REALLY! They don't even know what dairy is! I've lost all hope. I did have a hard time getting the PRIDE discount. It was Monday, wore rainbow, told them they had a sign by the register, and they still were asking each other if they were doing that deal. Really? First time here with my son and we liked the food. Customer service was great despite how busy they were. Our pizza got burnt so they had to remake it. A little disappointed for our first time but what can you do. I like the concept of putting whatever we want on the pizza. My son added whatever he wants on his side and I added whatever I want on my side. The garlic cheese bread was ok. I may skip that next time and get a bigger pizza instead . Every choice I made here was a delicious one!! I was hungry after a long day but wanted to get something to go. Not a fast food fan I checked out a few options on Yelp and this place drew me in. When I walked in I was impressed by how easy the ordering process was. There are a fair amount of topping options and all are included at one price!! I stacked up my options onto one of the base pizzas they suggested on their menu wall which was the 'dillion james.' The pizza is a generous 11" pizza (they offer 1 smaller size which I believe was 6"). When the order was ready I was also offered an additional sauce. I opted for pesto in a to-go cup. I tried it on a few slices and it was a nice compliment. Not too overpowering but the flavor of the pizza was good and didn't really need the pesto addition. I also opted for a dessert option of cinnamon sticks with strawberry dipping sauce and a milkshake. The milkshake was a nice splurge as you pick a base flavor and can add a mix-in. I chose vanilla with cappuccino crunches as a my mix in. Yummy!! The cinnamon sticks were also good. They were a pizza crest with cinnamon topping and a strawberry puree sauce. The sauce was a greta addition as the sticks themselves had a great flavor but were a tad dry. I was happy I stopped in as everything was delicious. I wish I had one of these close by at home. I was pleasantly surprised by this new chain. My boyfriend and I can never agree on a pizza, so this make your own option is perfect for us! I also love the fact that they don't add random additional charges, you can have whatever ingredients you want and as much of them as you want! I was shocked by this! You can get a pizza that easily feeds 1 or 2 people for about $8. I don't get many toppings on my pizza and I still thought it was a great value. It doesn't take long to make your pizza either! I've been trying the local eateries around my new job for lunch (mostly due to poor planning on my meal prep for the week) and today Mod Pizza won. I ordered through their website, which was super easy. I've been trying to really cut down on meat consumption (partly due to ethics, partly due to health) and I gotta say, their vegetarian pizza selections all look super tasty! I settled on the Lucy Sunshine (fuck yeah garlic and artichokes) mini. My pizza was ready 10 mins sooner than quoted, which was great cuz I had to get my ass back to work. The pizza was deeeeelicious but part of it was wet for some reason? Probably from artichoke juice. It didn't affect the taste so no big. A little disappointed with the service. Got two pizzas and my daughter's mini pizza came out normal but mine was left in too long. I saw the server eventually realize my pizza was still in the oven and rushing to pull it out and then trying to cut off the obviously burnt edges. I enjoy a little char here and there but this was the whole edges and spotted through the bottom. It wasn't very pleasant to eat but I needed to get my daughter fed and get moving on. While I think that Mod Pizza has genuinely good food, the level of customer service at this specific location is at it's bottom. I've been coming down there for the past few months, and only a few times I received a good level of customer service from a nice guy with a beard (Sorry, I didn't catch his name). Last time my order was taken by a guy named Ryan, or Bryan and it sure looks like this guy doesn't give a F#@K about you pizza, and the customer service at all. He looked very bored, he didn't greet us and went straight into "What size of pizza do you want?", "What toppings?" like it's a freaking police interrogation. Every-time I said thank you to him I got no response what so ever. I mean, what the hell is this? If you are a 17 year old and you hate your job it doesn't mean that you need to suck at it. I can't think of one thing I don't like about MOD Pizza. Seriously, it hits the mark on so many fronts. Let me start from the beginning... This location is in Bloomingdale on Army Trail Road with plenty of parking and easy accessibility. There is a ton of seating inside both in the front of the restaurant and at the back of don't prefer the foot traffic passing you by. The line moves really quickly. Even on busy afternoons/evenings with what seems to be a full house. The staff is awesome!! They're so nice, funny enough to make me laugh on most visits, pay attention to my requests and appear to handle the food very well. Let's talk a little about how MOD does things... On the wall, there are some suggested pizza options. So you can order a pizza by name and the awesome staff just whips it up for you. Or you can be like me and walk down the line and request your toppings. MOD charges a flat rate for you pizza based on size. Add as many toppings as you want and you'll still pay the same super reasonable price as you would have for a simple cheese pizza. Most often, I order a mini. I like it with easy BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken breast, broccoli, corn, roasted garlic, oregano, salt & pepper. I've also had it with some Canadian bacon, regular bacon, cauliflower and spicy chicken sausage. WAIT...I know what I don't like about MOD pizza. They eliminated the cauliflower and the spicy chicken sausage. I don't think they added another protein, but they did add roasted mushrooms if that's your bag. Not mine, but I already put plenty of my pizza. After a few minutes in the Wood fire oven, your pizza is ready. I've had it there and to-go. Both work for me. This has been one of my favorite fast casual discoveries near my home. After seeing MOD around for awhile I decided to see what it was all about. We walked in and looked at the menu an adorable bubbly helpful blonde asked us if we have ever been to MOD before and we said no. She explained to us that the ordering process is in the likes of chipotle but with pizza, ok that's easy. We started out picking our pizza dough we both went with the MOD, I then faced a hard decision white sauce or traditional red sauce? I was conflicted and asked her what her favorite was, she said white but I could try both by doing half white and half red. That is what I ended up doing so I could try both. We then went down the line. after adding sauce and chopped garlic, we added cheese, then came choice of greens, I picked fresh chopped basil. We skipped the meat and loaded up on veggies, I added artichoke, black olives, mushrooms,onions, roasted red peppers, and roasted garlic. I then asked for parmesan cheese to be sprinkled on top and then topped it off with some garlic butter sauce (obviously I didn't get enough garlic). My pizza then when into the oven and about 10 or 15 minutes later came my pizza. The pizza was thin crust and perfectly crispy. The veggies were fresh and filling. I was glad that I was able to try both sauces, surprisingly I ended up liking the white sauce better. On my way out the blonde female employee asked me how I liked her recommendation I was happy to tell her that I loved it. I actually ended up returning the next day because you can never have enough pizza in your life. I ordered a MOD pizza with white sauce veggies and garlic butter sauce, it was perfect I learned exactly what I liked the day before and had fun ordering. I loved the concept, pizza, the service and delightful staff (the blonde girl in particular) that made this experience a great one! Great spot for a quick, delicious meal that tastes exactly how you want it to. The beauty of Mod is that you can choose as many toppings as you want with no extra charge. That means you get exactly what you want for an affordable price, then pizzas come in 2sizes. A 6" mini for the littles at just over $6, an 11" Mod at just over $10. Okay, so this is another one of these gourmet, Roman-style pizza places and I have to admit that it is pretty great! I mean they have some killer OTC pies that are thoughtfully created, but when you really have a craving for something very 'personal' (like something your Nonna made for you) or some crazy pregnancy craving, haha...This could be the place for you! It took me a while to figure out that you could order CYO (create your own) pies, and that is where it really broke through for me. I fricken love this place!! Overall, it is not a big menu, but the ability to combine your own gourmet ingredients on a pizza is game-changing! They have pretty tasty wings too, and decent salads! We're in the age of the fast casual era. Not quite sit down, but still a step above fast food chains. I like this trend of taking elements from the Chipotle and Subway models, and applying them to other cuisines. While there are other places with similar concepts, I've tried Blaze, Pie Five, and Mod, and Mod Pizza is my hands down favorite. Their appeal is based on 3 basic fundamentals: 1)Complete freedom to customize You could literally make your pizza however you want. You no longer have to figure out which pre-defined combination of toppings suites your current mood, and don't have to make any additions or subtractions to get it exactly the way you want. If you're like me, you can ask for every single meat on your pizza and they won't judge you for it haha. Every time I went, they were never stingy with the toppings, unlike the feeling of getting ripped off when you get an exactly measured spoonful of steak at Chipotle. If you want more, just tell them! I challenged them to satisfy my garlic crave, and damn did they deliver. Warning: I discovered there actually IS such a thing as too much meat because the grease from all the meats pool together and can make the crust soggy. 2)One single price I like that you don't have to pay for every topping you add. At the usual pizza chains, turning a normal one topping pizza into a meat lovers could easily double the price. I think for what you get, $7.95 for an 11 inch pizza is more than fair. I can easily spend more than that at Mcdonald's. 3)Speed Yea, I've been able to get pizza hot and ready pretty quick at the likes of a Little Caesar's or the gas station haha, but these actually look pretty gourmet. They're individually cooked in a high heat brick oven, and give you an artisinal vibe. I gotta admit that the dough here is pretty legit. Thin and crunchy, but still a nice chew to the crust, and has that authentic char. It is strong enough to hold all the toppings but thin enough to not hate yourself afterward. During my latest visit I got a Mod pizza with a garlic rub and red sauce base, mozzarella/parmesan/ricotta cheese layer, and then a shit ton of roasted garlic, pepperoni, salami, bacon, spicy Italian sausage, and grilled chicken as toppings. Finally, I topped it off with a pesto drizzle. It was damnnnn good. Overall, I'm a huge fan of Mod pizza. My pizza's been perfect every single time, I'm usually more than full if I finish the whole thing, and it's pretty damn cheap. How can you not love that? read more

I was craving pizza for dinner and decided I had to finally try MOD Pizza. I was too hangry to be creative, so ordered the Tristan pizza (comes with mushrooms, roasted/marinated red peppers, asiago, mozzarella, and pesto topping). Verdict? Good and typical of the build-your-own-fired-pie places. My only gripe was that the toppings were mostly in the middle; I wish they were more evenly distributed since it caused the pie to be soggy.
