Lou's had a special deal going; but one medium deep dish, get a medium cheese deep dish free. That's a great deal! The cheese/sausage one I bought was hot and delicious. The free cheese one was great as well. These pizzas warm up well the next day in an air fryer as well. Service was pretty quick even though they were busy. There is a little seating area while you wait for your pizzas but it's strictly a take-out establishment. You can also look in the coolers they have for a salad or dessert. I liked it. I live in Bloomingdale and this location is 10 minutes from me. 7 years ago I stopped ordering from here for carryout because the pizza quality was inconsistent. It seemed very good in 2018 and before. Well I tried it again 06/08/25. I was exhausted and didn't feel like driving to my go-to Lous in Schaumburg. I ordered my usual: deep dish cheese buttercrust with extra sauce. The curbside service which I get just for convenience was great. However the pizza was not at all like Lou Malnati in Schaumburg. The crust had no flavor at all and texture was gummy. The sauce was also not quite as flavorful as Schaumburg location. I will not be back. I've seen the owner on TV making his pizzas and always wanted to try it. This is my first trip to Chicago, and unfortunately, this Lou Malnati location is only carry out so I had to take it back to the hotel room. Would have preferred to dine in. But, no deduction of star rating for that - I'm glad it was available! I wanted to start with a healthier option, a salad, and the Malnati salad was perfect. The Malnati vinaigrette was amazing! I followed that with a small Malnati Classic Chicago which is a sausage deep dish. This serves 2 people, 2 slices were very filling. The crust had a nice crunch to it, and this version has a slight buttery flavor that was great. NOT Ike the old Pizza Hut deep dish which I hated. I had a $100 gift card which I wanted to use towards a pizza. When I ordered it I was told it would be delivered in an hour. After and hour and a half I call and said we had no pizza. I was told that, because it was a gift card, it didn't go into the delivery list so we had to start from scratch. The wife and I were craving some pizza and wings from Lou's, and we didn't feel like dealing with the Valentine's Day crowds out at the restaurants. I thought ordering carry-out pizza would be a smart idea, but I should've known better when I placed my order on the Lou Malnati's app at 5 PM and the next available pickup time was 6:45 PM. I didn't mind though. I just thought, yea that's a smart idea, space out your orders so they wouldn't be so overwhelmed on a day they expect to be busier than normal. Wrong! Wrong wrong wrong! When I got there, it was absolute chaos. I should've just cancelled my order on the spot. I walked in close to 7 and there was a guy yelling that he was still waiting for his order that was scheduled for pick-up at 6:10. Still, for some reason I gave Lou's the benefit of the doubt and assumed that was an isolated incident. Who knew that I would end up waiting even longer than him and still end up walking away empty handed. From the outside you would think they were giving away pizzas for free because it was absolutely packed in there. We're talking 80 people crammed into a space designed for 25. Totally a fire hazard. When you walked in, there was so much confusion. Some people called in orders and were waiting to pay, others ordered on the app and pre-paid but apparently still needed to check-in, and the rest were all paid and checked in and were just waiting for the pizza. There was absolutely no line or any sort of order. Ironically, they even had ads on their monitor saying to download the app and skip the line. What a joke! I still don't know how it's supposed to work. I was under the impression that when I ordered at 5 and gave them 2 hours to process my order, that it would indeed be ready by the 6:45 pickup time that I was quoted. Nope. It almost seemed like they didn't even start your order until you checked-in, which completely defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. They even admitted that the order tickets were spitting out in the back and they just arbitrarily took whatever ticket was printing out and started making the pizza. If your order was lost in the shuffle or processed way out of order, then oh well. What kind of amateur operation is this?? I will give credit to the kids up front. Clearly not their fault, and they were trying their best on what is surely one of their worst nights ever. I absolutely blame the management though. There was zero management presence trying to keep order and make things right for the many disgruntled customers. The crowd was full of confusion, anger, frustration, and reluctant acceptance that they were in too deep and just had to wait it out. This is not what the customer experience should be. After waiting close to 90 minutes for my 6:45 pickup, it has become a complete joke. Pizzas would come out few and far between. And the pizzas that came out were for people who already cancelled their order or people who weren't there. Did their ovens only fit like 2 pizzas at a time?? Literally, everyone who was waiting were growing more frustrated by the minute. Every time someone did get their order, the entire crowd would clap like they just won the lottery. Other people were just grabbing the pizzas of the no-shows because they were desperate for pretty much anything at that point. It was that bad. I had enough and decided to cancel my order. Who knows if it will even be processed though, since the guy literally just wrote my order number on the back of a random scrap of paper and assured me he'd do it. I guess I'll just have to dispute the charges with my credit card company. At the end of the day, shame on me for assuming this Lou Malnati's location was an experienced business that knew how to manage their orders. If you can't handle the load and are clearly running wayyy behind, stop taking orders! I understand it was a holiday and they were busy, but they pissed off a lot of people today and management was nowhere to be seen to make things right. They could have at least set the right expectations, tried their best to be transparent, and allowed people to make informed decisions, instead of just cramming us in a waiting area and leaving us guessing when we'll be able to eat. Lou Malnati's Bloomingdale pissed off a lot of people today and didn't seem to know the first thing about customer service. There's a lot of other options for pizza in the area and I will definitely advise everyone I know to avoid this location. read more

SIDE NOTES: Curbside Pickup was a little tight. There's only 2 spots and they are in front of the restaurant. So it is a bit tight if you're pulling up for curbside pick up. Usually, this location is great but they dropped the ball massively this time and possibly lost long-time customers. While the food was great, they just left the pizza on the porch with NO NOTIFICATION THAT IT WAS DROPPED OFF. This is completely unacceptable and quite frankly made us question whether or not we want to remain customers. Also the delivery driver didn't even step on the porch and just stood there as if waiting for us to come to a door he didn't even knock on. And we have video proof of this. First time ordering from this location. Definitely not what I've come to expect from Lou Malnati's. I ordered online, and was told it would be ready at 4:45. I arrived promptly at 4:45 and was told it would be 5 more minutes. That's fine. That tells me they prefer that the pizza is done right ...as it should be. Frankly, 15 minutes would be ok, if it's for the right reasons. Got the pizza home, opened the box, which turned out to be a challenge, as the box was soaking wet with water and oil when I got it home. Fortunately, it was on top of some broken down cardboard boxes in the car, so no damage was done - except to the pizza box, itself. Upon opening, I immediately observed that the toppings had virtually all slid to one side. I'm very careful when transporting a pizza box and I can say, with certainty, that I didn't do that. On to the pizza, itself. Looked good, the bare half notwithstanding, and it appears to have all the toppings I ordered. Tasted much like a Malnati's pizza except it was cold on the inside. Sauce and bottom crust were hot (actually luke warm at that point), but the interior - notably the cheese - was cold. Not merely room temperature cold, but refrigerator cold(!!!) It was as if the presumably (and disturbingly) frozen pizza was not cooked thoroughly. In hindsight, this was not entirely inconsistent with the wet box. To say that I was disappointed would be far too kind. This is not what I expected from what had been, to this point, a dining highlight of my 33+ years in suburban Chicago. Sadly, Malnati's just dropped a handful of notches on my list of favorite pizza places in and around Chicago. I never thought I'd live to see the day when I started sampling other pizzas - Malnati's was that good! But here we are. It's much the same reaction I had when Dunkin' stopped making donuts in the store. I'll happily pay more for what tastes like a fresh made pizza. I'll not likely be back. read more

First let me start off by saying I tried deep dish pizza only once, a really long time ago, and I was not a fan. Maybe it was because it wasn't in Chicago or maybe it was because all I knew and grew to love was thin crust. However, when making my move to Illinois from California, the one recurring recommendation people gave me was LOU MALNATI'S. So, after a 3.5 hour flight from LA, we had to make this our very first stop. We placed an order online for The Lou (+ sausage) deep dish pizza and a side of boneless Buff-a-Lou wings. They have this system set up where you drive your car up and they bring the food out to you. Very COVID compliant, which I very much appreciated! We got to my new home and once we started eating, there were no words. Literally. The pizza was just unbelievable. It was bursting with so much flavor. The crust was just perfect and the cheese was stringing along after every bite. The wings were just right. It was still crisp under all that sauce. I am drooling as I write this..... I love this pizza, always have and this location does a great job. Areas for improvement would be the front counter staff, who might be doubling as helpers in the back. I was asked to pay, and once I did they just walked away, no it will be ready or I'll go check. Just pivoted and disappeared. It was a bizarre experience and I couldn't figure out what was going on. You will never have a better pizza!!! I can only say that there were enough people complaining about service that there has to be something to it. I hope they get on that. My poor hubby spent and entire day building our daughter her brand new play set. I was on toddler and semi helping duty, so by the time dinner came neither one of us wanted to cook. Both were delivered right on time. The driver was even wearing gloves, which I appreciated. It was still hot and tasted great. My only complaint about my experience? I had a gift card to use, which is why I ordered from here in the first place. I got to the end screen to pay and apparently you can't use gift cards. I would give this location a 2 star rating on service and 5 stars for the food. My confirmation time was 6:45 and I made it to the store at 6:43. I know you might have to wait a little bit we did not get our pizza until 7:05. No one giving me an update on our order. I gave them cash and no one ever came back with change. I was craving some deep dish with a nice butter crust, so a call to Lou's was in order. I ordered a medium Chicago Classic and was quoted 30 minutes. The girl who answered the phone was super polite and thorough, and was friendly in person. My pizza was ready exactly on time. It was perfect and delicious!
