As a concept, I really like MOD Pizza. And, for what it is, it's pretty decent. The Mini size is perfect for a snack or a slice substitute. The dicey aspect: this place gets insanely busy! And I always get behind someone with an insanely complicated order. It tends to dampen the mood a bit because they're the only ones that matter. There's a lot of that here. This is the best idea ever. A build your own pizza bar. AMAZING. My boyfriend and I can never decide on what to put on our pizzas because we like completely different things, and so this is a great alternative to a large pizza from any delivery place. If it's your first time, i'd recommend keeping it simple, or going with one of the pre-determined pizza combinations. It can be overwhelming and you might accidentally add a bunch of things that don't really go great together if you panic like i tend to do when ordering at new places! They fire the pizzas in a pizza oven and they come out pretty quickly which is nice. I would recommend getting there early for lunch or dinner because the line can get SO long during the busy times. I absolutely appreciate MOD Pizza because you can customize your pie however you wish without worrying about how much it costs to add extra toppings to it. I like that they have tried and true pizza recipes you can order or customize off of. It definitely takes time to develop your go-to pizza order but I've gone enough times now that I generally know what I'm going to go for when I walk into any of the stores. This is the most terrible MOD Pizza place, their employees yells at customers. An employee said things like "get your money and get out!", "I can speak however I want with you". This was the most horrible and humiliating experience! More detailed story here: I visited your store on 22833 Bothell Everett Hwy, ordered custom pizzas for myself and my family waited for a while and received 3 out of 4 pizzas from my order. I was informed one of them got messed up and they are remaking it. I was fine with the delay, I understood that mistakes happen. While waiting I thought of checking at the counter and one of your employee (say Employee1) rudely replies something like, "Hey its in oven its not like we put timer on it, just wait for it". I didn't mind it and let it go. Finally after about 15 min when my order was ready, I noticed it wasn't what I ordered. When I mentioned that this wasn't correct pizza they said I could get it remade and wait for another 10-15 min to get it. At this point, I was just ready to take whatever they made. To retrospect I asked to another employee at counter, "When this happens for a custom order and you remake a pizza, why don't you just call the customer and ask them for correct instructions again?". At this point Employee1 (referred earlier) jumped in between and started yelling, "HEY IF YOU WANT YOUR PIZZA FIXED GO AND GET ANOTHER ONE BUT YOU CAN'T TALK TO MY GUY LIKE THIS!", I replied I was just trying to retrospect on your mistake. The arguments went on, he continued yelling at me in front of everyone at the store, it came to the point when he asked to get refund and "Get out of the store", saying it's a private property. When I said you can't talk to me like that, he said, to quote "I can talk however I want with you but you can't talk to my guy like this". If a hungry customer willing to let go two of your mistakes can't complain about the bad experience, then none of your employees have a tiny bit of right to talk to me like that. One of your gentle employees helped calm the situation. I ended up taking the wrong pizza and eating it since I was very hungry and rest of my family had already finished their dinner. The gentle employee came back to offer a gift card and to hear me and I really appreciated the gesture. I replied to this employee and mentioning here for the record, my complaint wasn't for getting a free pizza, it was for the bad experience which could have not happened if you had accepted the mistake, called me and asked for the instructions again. But instead instead of accepting this fact your Employee1 yells at me! This happened on 10/29/2021 around 8:00PM, your Employee1 (who refused to mention his name) blatantly shouted at me and humiliated me in front of everyone. Great experience at this location last night. I ordered a mini and when I looked down again I noticed that she was making at Mod sized pizza (larger). I didn't want to say anything since she had already started, but I also didn't really want to pay for a larger one when I ordered a small one. We'd only ever been to MOD pizza once and were a little lost and inefficient in our ordering but the staff were patient and helpful. The pizza was delicious and my kids loved the Fanta in glass bottles. The recycling and composting were a huge plus though a sign about what we could put in recycling would have been helpful - we didn't know if we could put the glass bottles in and some people aren't careful about what they put where. The restaurant was a little muted and mediocre atmosphere wise, beige in color and beige in flavor, though if you want yummy pizza made to your specifications then the quality was great. read more

The pizzas tasted pretty good, unfortunately, their customer service was lacking. I don't remember her name, but a young lady who helped us asked if we had been their before, I said it's been a while and she proceeded to rattle off her new-to-MOD-pizza intro. She spoke way too fast while at the same time seeming indifferent. It's like I wasn't a person to her, I was just something she had to speak to and move down to the register as fast as possible. I have to say this crew is AMAZING! I am new to the MOD rewards app and didn't realize there was an expiration on my pizza reward. When I got to the counter to pay, my app showed the rewards expired. Had a bad experience at this particular MOD Pizza. Team at the line on this evening were not on their game. I had a couple pizza orders placed and the team member responsible of taking orders couldn't get my orders down right that I had repeat my orders and she had to take it down twice. In addition we typically ask for extra toppings and at other MOD Pizzas that we frequent in the Seattle area would happily double our toppings, but not at this MOD Pizza at Canyon Park. They actually give you less then standard amount of toppings if you ask for extra toppings and give you the stink eye for asking extra toppings. This experience sure has us rethinking our loyalty to MOD pizza scratching MOD Pizza off our list of favorite spots. read more

Mod is my go to pizza place when it is just me. I had to knock off a star for the continually inconsistent cook of the pizzas. Sometimes they are perfectly done with a cracker crisp bottom, while other times it is soggy, or on the verge of being too done(burnt). It is very rare that they are the perfect cracker crisp bottom. Almost always friendly staff. One gal consistently has a look of rather not being there, but a smile from her would change everyone's impression, I am sure. read more

I'd never been to a Mod Pizza before so I had no idea what it was like. The person behind me in line (Sunday lunch) said that it's like Subway. I suppose a cross between a buffet and Subway. One size, one price, get whatever you like and as much as you like. The base is an 11 inch pizza. You can have pretty much anything you like. It's a very thin crust and you can even have a cauliflower crust. If I go again, that's what I'll have. It's really fast, a thin crust and a hot oven. Probably about 5 minutes. I'd have liked it to have been in another minute or two. I've wondered about it for a long time. I'll be back. Not the best pizza, but good and flexible. I like that. read more

Color me surprised! I really like Mod Pizza! We tried it a year or so ago and did not like it at all. This week, my hubby brought it home & it was SO good. The fact that they'll load it up for you, at no extra cost, is awesome. We used to order delivery from another local joint (starts with a P) and their quality has decreased over the years, so, we thought we'd try Mod one more time. Pretty good bang for your buck. The ingredients are fresh and all the pizzas are cooked to order, as is expected. They offer an assortment of unique lemonades too as well, from classic lemonade to marionberry. There is plenty of seating indoor and out, even in the busiest of days. The employees at this MOD know how to keep traffic flowing and they work efficiently and do their jobs well. A variety of music types are played subtly in the background too! The pizza is a bit greasier than some places and occasionally the bread is noticeably burnt to the point the sweet tomato sauce can not compensate for the bitterness of the crust. MOD Pizza is one of those ideas you see in action and immediately your mind goes to "Why the heck didn't I think of that?". It basically takes a Subway type of concept and brings it to the wood fired pizza realm. Food: The pizza comes in three sizes (many people don't realize), and for most the original "MOD" size (middle size) is generally perfect. Just like a sandwich shop you can mix and match any toppings, and the pricing doesn't change. We're not talking nickel and diming you for guacamole (looking at you Chipotle) or ketsup (or you Burgermaster), it's one price regardless of sauce, herbs, and toppings. The toppings are fresh and the wood fire adds a nice char to the thin crust. Assuming no huge line, you can expect the pizza to be out within about 10 minutes of placing the order. Order and pay online, and you can skip the line and head straight to pick-up. For those more health conscious you can opt for a salad with pretty much all the same options as above (save sauce and dough). I love the ability to create a large monster salad, but the pricing is a bit steep given you're removing the dough/sauce/cook time. This MOD, and in fact most I've seen, serves some draft beers as well as bottled beer, cider and soft drinks. There's also some unique lemonade/teas/juices available. Insider Tip: While the fountain lemonade/juices are great, but you might need to cut them with water (pretty sweet). Location & Service: Located in the Canyon Park shopping center (anchor store is QFC) it's in a good location for those frequenting 228th, and judging by all the new construction in the area, that's a heck of a lot of you folks! Within walking distance you'll find a Mud Bay, a Bartells, a Taco Del Mar, a Chase Bank, a couple of gas stations, QFC, a PCC Market, a Brooks Outlet, a Tullys, and a Starbucks. Basically it's in an area where you can get a lot of shopping done making it convenient for those in the Canyon Park/Maywood Hills area. Inside the layout is well thought out. The order line snakes around the outside (not window facing) part of the building, and the tables don't feel cramped. There's a community wood bartop, which I happen to like a lot. Noise carries a bit with no sound barriers, but you do get plenty of lighting with about 50% of the wall space being windows. Parking is not a challenge. Final Thoughts: For $7.87 the price is right for a customized personal pizza. It won't change your world, but it might just change your lunch plans. -AC read more

Made an online order to then arrive empty handed when I asked, processed to wait 10 mins to give them some time to figure it out... they never did and I asked again. One of the employees says "oop I have it here I'll remake it for you fast" .... Wasted close to 25 minutes waiting for an online ordered single vegan pizza. They are from the looks of it unorganized in their busiest hours and need a better system of pick up x waiting time information on both ends. Yum! Just moved to Washington from Virginia and this place has won my heart. The employees are stellar and so patient. I got a salad and my family tried the pizzas. Everything was fresh and delicious. The Server explained that they don't have certain toppings because of the preservatives. We sat outside and enjoyed our lunch. The bathrooms were very large and clean. I felt like the prices were great too for a family of 4. Overall, I will definitely try a Mod Pizza again. I like that it's fast and you can eat healthy. The pizza is light and has crust that is similar to a cracker. Also, added bonus, the ice in the soda machines is crushed! read more

I went during their Grand Opening event and was quite impressed by the organization and efficiency of the staff. For there being 50 some people in front of me, the wait wasn't bad to get my pizza. As I waited in line, someone came around with samples of their vanilla soft serve, too. Samples were so generous--and I was so hungry for my savory pie--I couldn't finish and had to toss the rest. There must've been 10 people helping make pizzas and they didn't skimp on the ingredients either. I ate a good lunch with friends, took some photos in the free photo booth (just for that day), and went home with leftovers. Yay. MOD is a nice addition to the Bothell neighborhood. Pizza-wise, you can choose from their pre-selected combination of ingredients or completely customize your own. One flat rate. Same deal with salads. It's a win-win situation. This is one of the best MOD pizza's I have been too. Not that I am a MOD pizza snob but out of the five or so that I have visited this place is dialed in. Clean, fast, friendly and always willing to make things right if there is ever an error. In a day and age of instant gratification and non human interaction this place blows the doors off of other places. Love the pizza, salads and prices! This is our "go to" when we want pizza. You can't beat the price. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the bellowed "Hello" from behind the counter when you walk in. There are times when I'm not in the most social mood and I don't want to be noticed. So for the person who's a little shy at times the "Hello" from way across the room might make you feel a little uncomfortable. I love how each Mod restaurant puts the town feel into the decoration. I love that MOD has gluten-free crust and dairy-free cheese. Lynnwood location has it too, probably all of them but when I ordered my pizza, the pizza artist told me that there would be contact with gluten objects. I knew that ahead of time - I don't have celiac but I am very sensitive. I've had a Caspian with all the same choices (gluten-free/dairy-free), at the Lynnwood location, and my tummy didn't hurt afterwards. But this time my tummy hurt and I had symptoms of dairy sensitivity. I know this could always happen no matter where I go but I don't realize that contamination affects me, too. This is no ones fault and nothing major happened but just to let Celiac and major allergic people know not to eat here - you can't expect gluten free when it touches all other gluten objects and is on the same stove, and touched by the same utensils and gloves. Sorry to say. Unless something about cheese getting mixed up in my dairy-free stuff happened - because it was odd to have a small reaction when my last pizza didn't. Anyway, I love their pizza and recommend them to anyone else. They are a cute size and you can build your own. I ordered a simple Hawaiian and Canadian bacon, my favorite pizza! The dairy-free cheese is sweeter than regular cheese, so be aware if you want to try it. I like it! Also, their gluten free crust is just as delicious and crispy as regular crust. Not sure what happened this time but I'm sure I will test it again with a different pizza. I have tried their Bellevue location and now this Bothell location and people who customize the pizzas start getting a heart attack once one chooses around 5-6 of their "30 craveable toppings" as advertised above. It seems like the people behind the counter at every location have been taught to say standard messages like " will you be done after this?" with a touch of annoyance to discourage customers from selecting more toppings. I am a vegetarian who loves a variety of things on their pizza and as a mom would love to have her kids try different vegetarian toppings. Either they should have standard pizza options like other pizza places or they should specify limit on the number of toppings which go on each pizza based on pizza size. Advertising one thing on website and behaving a different way with the customer is crappy customer service and they have completely lost my trust. I haven't stopped into their Bellevue location since 2017 and after a similar experience at their Bothell location wouldn't want to try Mod pizza again. read more

Disappointed. Have had really great experience at other mod locations, but this one dropped the ball. Put an online order for three pizzas at 5:20 PM for a 6:00 pick up, arrived at 5:50 and had to wait until 6:15 to get the pizzas. The staff seemed unorganized and the whole operation a bit chaotic. Only thing getting two stars here is the pizza which is as always delicious. Oh, and a simple sorry for the wait probably would have deserved another star as well. read more

My husband and I just walked out of this place. We have never been and we were excited for some good pizza. We were observing the workers and noticed the guy putting the pizzas in the oven wasn't wearing gloves. He was folding boxes, touching cash on the register, and touching everyone's pizzas when putting them in the oven and pulling them out. DISGUSTING! Totally ruined that for us. Won't be going back.
