Never had an issue at this location of MOD pizza (knock on wood). Usually I get their pizzas, but lately I've been getting salads (because you know--dieting ) I love the ability to make my own salad and the fact that all of their toppings are always amazing quality (LOVE the roasted broccoli and corn). The staff at this location has also been nothing but friendly, energetic, fun and kind! Personally, I believe any business is more than just the service or product sold, but the people! This used to be one of our favorite pizza places to get take out from after shopping at the small grocery store next door and we typically bought pizza at least 2x a month from Mod, but the past 2 visits have been subpar at best. Last time we realized once we got home that one of the pizzas was missing 1/3 of the ingredients selected, even though the receipt had them listed. I may have assumed they had ran out, except the second pizza -did- have some of those same ingredients. We gave them another try today, placed an order, went to pick up at the time on the order, and my husband got there to pick up our pizzas and waited. And waited. And waited. Nobody acknowledged him. He waited over 20 minutes past the time the pizzas were supposed to be ready before they were both out of the oven, and one was out more than *10 minutes* before the other which makes zero sense. Why split up an order to make other pizzas in between? So one of us (me) ended up with room temperature pizza. Adding that once the pizza made it home, it was totally stuck to the paper underneath it. In prying the slices off of it, half of my toppings came off. What a mess. We arrived on Friday night and it was fairly busy but the line moved fast due to the large staff that was working. We ordered 3 pizzas and sat inside, next to the open garage style doors. No one else was seated inside and there was plenty of open tables with social distancing. Our orders were called and when we opened all our pizzas, we discovered that one pizza was incorrect. The staff apologized and quickly set to make us another one as our order must have been given to someone else. The staff also offered free fountain drinks to apologize but we refused initially. We received our correct third pizza and determined we needed a fourth pizza. The hubs got in line to order it and the staff made it on the house and offered the fountain drinks again. We accepted. We were surprised and impressed. We weren't too inconvenienced by the incorrect pizza, it happens but the staff really went above and beyond to fix it. They were friendly throughout and the pizzas were great. Great location and the staff deserves all the stars. read more

It's a ways away from Pittsburg. But it's easy toget here. Just get on the freeway toward Stockton, exit 33 Lone Tree Way. Lots of parking that varies from a few seconds walk to a few minutes walk. Don't want to make your own choices. Order from one of many specials like the Tristan. But I suggest you make your own. That's what this place is all for huh? White sauce, pesto, or red sauce. Spinach or lettuce. Three different types of sausages, and many types of meat. So many types of cheese and veggies. You can even add stuff on top after it comes out of the oven. First time trying this place was a blast. We (family of four) got sodas, pizzas, a salad (yeah they have salads) and milkshakes. Tasted pretty good. The think crust was a bit crunchy, the sausage so good, re jalapeños were super spicy, and it was a bit greasy but pretty good. I love how it's made in a brick oven. I like the three different sizes. I always choose the Mod. I like the many different choices of toppings, and they got pesto! I love pesto! I would suggest now to order to go though especially if you live far away. It just makes the pizzas even more greasy and soggy too. Not the best pizza I have ever had. I prefer my crust a bit thicker. The pizza was not cut and was so messy not the best pizza I have have had. The curb service was horrible. When the dude brought out my pizza I told him I ordered two pizza he said Nope! You ordered one. I was confused I looked at the pizza and then read the name on it I was sure it was not mine. I called them and told them that I had the wrong one I could see the grunge dude realized his mistake and was bringing my pizza back he did not apologize or explain just handed me my Pizzas. I gave him back the one he gave me first and told him I opened it and it was wrong he walked away and put the pizza back in the waiting area. Gross. Mod pizza is salty - very salty. If you are craving something less salty, travel the extra distance to Blaze Pizza or Pieology. I'm not sure if it's the salt they put in their tomato sauce, grilled chicken, or something else, but every time I've come here I've left feeling so bloated I looked like I was pregnant (and I'm a guy) and this is even after chugging down several glasses of water. The last time I was here I ordered an 11 inch custom pizza and loaded it up with toppings. The ordering process was pretty quick and efficient, so no complaints there. I ordered a 6 inch pizza for my wife, also loaded with toppings. The total cost for both pizzas was around $17, which is comparable to other similar fast food pizza places. It took awhile to get our pizzas, but not too long either. I asked for a BBQ sauce swirl on mine, which looked good, but also added an ungodly amount of salt to an already over-salted pizza. My wife and I enjoyed our pizzas, but both of us complained about how salty they each were. I also feel that their crust is a little too crispy. I've had their 6 inch "snack pizza" before and it tasted just like one of those old Celeste pizzas from the grocery store. Overall, I prefer the slightly stretchier crust of Blaze and Pieology to this place, but unfortunately the nearest of either of these places is all the way in Concord or Pleasant Hill. Hopefully one of these places will open up out here because I really enjoy both of those places. MOD Pizza is exactly as it sounds....MODerately good pizza for a MODerately good price, but low-quality ingredients that will salt you out so badly you won't be able to sleep at night (happened to both me and my wife). I don't think I'll return here again sadly. This place is also really dirty. They need to clean the tables and floor occasionally. Plus the bathroom is also equally disgusting. If you are not sensitive to salt or actually like overly salty pizza, then this place might be ok for you. Delicious pizza!!! I'd been thinking about visiting this place for the last year and a half as so many patrons from Trader Joe's (around the corner) and even the employees raved about the place. Little princess and I made our way into this build-your-own pizza restaurant and were given the run down of how to order. We opted for a $8.99 11 inch (?) Pizza. MOD Pizza has a similar concept to Blaze Pizza in that you can order a preset pizza or a custom pizza. I built my own pizza with the same ingredients that I do at Blaze Pizza, but somehow it didn't taste that great. Perhaps the ingredients are not that fresh. I also ordered a bottled coke and somehow it tasted super flat. I didn't really feel welcoming vibes in here either. Oh why did I bother trying MOD again? This time I waited in line about 30 minutes, watching them making several online orders while I wait, only to tell me they were out of ingredients (that I saw them exhaust on online orders while I waited) when it was finally my turn. After ordering we waited another 45 minutes for our pizzas. While waiting and watching it's clear how utterly disorganized this place is. They can't figure out which pizzas go with which orders, while figuring it out they're burning other pizzas, they run out of ingredients (really, you're 'defrosting' more white sauce...), and every employee looks constantly stressed and pissed off (and we hear little rude comments they make to each other). Needs new management. Needs to stop taking online orders. Needs proper work instructions and procedures. This place is in a busy shopping center. This place is good for kids and adults. You get to pick what you want so you can't go wrong and everyone is happy. Produce was fresh and amount they put on was very generous. My favorite part is the thin crust it's so good. They have this cinnamon dessert that looks like a pizza that's s must try. The fountain drinks were pretty amazing. There was a dark something lemonade it was amazing. We had three kids and two adults and it was under $50 you really can't beat that. Think of this place as a Papa Murphy design your own pizza but they bake it for you. The dough it on a very thin crust and it doesn't feel like a pizza, but more like warm crispy saltine crackers with toppings. The pizza was cooked quick about 7 1/2 minutes in some kind of weird brick type oven. It wasn't too expensive but a pretty hippy place to have a quick bite, especially if you're a pizza lover. read more
