This place has great prices on quality furniture. You need to get there early. I usually arrive a little after 7am. The doors open at 8am. Prepare to be annoyed by people that get out of their cars at the last minute and cut the line. I wish there was a better system in that regard. The cashiers are rude. They stood and had a 5 minute conversation catching up with someone while the line was to the back of the store. They were continued to be rude and unfriendly. Weird. Inside you'll find a range of items that you can use to furnish your home. If you wait long enough sometimes people put things back. You can grab them. If you find something you like put your hand on the price slip and raise your hand. If you don't someone else can rightfully take it! Arrive early and often and you can find some great deals here. I have furnished several rooms in our house for half the price of retail stores. The 2 star rating reflects the line that starts outside the door 30 minutes before it opens. A sign explains that shoppers must be physically in line to hold a spot. Sounds fair, but there is a very rude group of regulars that act as though these rules do not apply to them. While others stand outside in the cold and rain, these ladies place a chair at the front and then sit in their cars. When they pop out before opening, they are joined by several friends that have just arrived, bumping all those in line back 10-15 people. Did we not learn in kindergarten to play fair and not cut? Bottom line, the business is very aware of this. Please establish another system to take care of all customers, not just the selfish ones. read more

Every Friday morning here is already like the Running of the Brides at Filene's Basement - only for furniture and home decor - and I'd hate to have to also compete with you for the incredible deals. But alas, I am a giving soul and here's the head's up on this place. (You can thank me later by passing on that end table or glass vase when you see me eyeing it up the same time as you! *wink*) So basically, this company furnishes most, if not all, new home builder models that everyone Oohs and Ahhs over when they're house hunting or looking for decorating ideas. So what happens when the community sells out and there isn't a need for the model home? Well, you get to purchase the incredible, barely (if at all) used furniture and decorative items for a massive discount. Here's my most recent purchase: - A three piece (dresser and two night stands) medium-stain cherry wood bedroom set from Bassett for $420. - A dark cherry wood glass-top end table for $40 - Two (2) dark cherry bookshelves for $130 Because I spent over $500, I received an additional 25% off my entire purchase (they offer different specials each month) - for a grand total of $469 (tax included) My final purchase price probably wouldn't have even bought me two lesser quality bookshelves in a normal furniture store! Now on to the nitty gritty: 1)If you want the best selection, come early (doors open at 8AM) and expect to wait in line if you arrive prior to. 2) Out of decency to your fellow shoppers waiting in said line, do not have your friends, family, neighbors, etc. jump the line when they arrive right before doors open. 3) Be prepared to make split second decisions because things do not last long - which leads us to the next point: 4) Unless you're really ready to purchase a piece of furniture, don't grab the ticket and hang on to it while you shop around. If you want it, put your name on it, which means you're committing to buying it. Otherwise, give everyone else a fair shot at it. 5) Enjoy yourself and don't get discouraged. They're open practically every Friday, so just come back on a regular basis and you'll come across from incredible deals! read more

I went on a whim and told myself I just wanted to check this place out and I wouldn't BUY ANYTHING! Ha! I arrived and the place was practically empty. Little did I know, you have to be in line at least 30 min prior to the store opening to get first pick. When I arrived there wasn't too much left. I did score a beautiful white Magnussen dresser and matching night stand because someone put it on hold but failed to pay before they left. I spoke with the store manager and after about an hour of waiting to see if the person would return it was mine! Just to give you an idea, this dresser on wayfair retails for $919 and the nightstand $400. I purchased these I with no damage in new condition for around $400. I was lucky though. I think maybe I went on a bad week.. I love the concept of the place and the prices were decent but a cheap price for something I don't want doesn't make it better.. I went in thinking I would see all the amazing stuff you see at model home auctions and be able to get it with out all the bidding.. I was wrong, there were a few decent things but I mostly only bought items I could bring home to refurbish and make better. Maybe next time I have a Friday off ill go back and see if it gets any better, if not I'll start stalking new neighborhoods to look for direct sells or auctions. read more

My sister first told me about this place about 5 years ago and swore she'd disown me if I ever told anyone else about it. But, I guess the secret is already out, so I am free to add my two cents (or yelps)! If you're a discerning shopper, MHI is a place you really have to visit to regularly to score a great deal on what you want. Sometimes I don't see any furniture I like, but I rarely walk away empty-handed, even if it's a $7 lampshade or a $5 hand-painted decorative tray. I once bought a huge designer wall mirror for about $15 here. Also they often have decorator fabric remnants at ridiculously low prices (like $1 for a yard), plus framed wall art, dishes and plates, and even towels. If you're into stylish home design, do yourself a favor and shop here. Quality can be hit or miss -- remember, some of this furniture spent time in a model home so it could have scratches, dents, and ripped upholstery, so be sure to look the piece over before buying. Also, model homes are known for using smaller-scale furniture, which makes rooms look bigger. This can be a plus if you're buying furniture for a smaller home too. Another tip: Come here in a truck, van or SUV if you plan on buying furniture. They charge a storage fee if you can't take your purchase home the same day. read more

I wasn't going to review this because I thought it was a secret. It turns out, I'm probably one of the few people who didn't know about the place. I've ventured here twice. It opens at 8am and if you want the best selection, you should get there by 7:30 ish because crowds of people show up. I normally arrive by 8:30 and anything I would have wanted is usually taken by then. What I like about this place is, it's all actually furniture from model homes, unlike some places with a similar name. You will find some steals and some things that are overpriced. Today I got a headboard that's perfect for our guest bedroom for $65. Now that's a steal. The other awesome thing is that you get 7 days to pick up your item before they charge a storage fee. Now, the downside is the line to checkout is so freaking long and takes forever because there is only one cashier and most people who check out have dozens of items. I stood in line for an hour today waiting to check out. It's a double edged sword. You go in looking for a bargain, but prepare to be there awhile. It's defintely worth checking out if you're looking for bargains for your house. read more

ONE STAR REFLECTS PEOPLE, NOT PRODUCTS This place has great prices and certainly quality furniture. There is usually a pretty good selection of something, but not always a great selection of everything. Worth going a couple times to try to steal a deal. I have purchased some great things from here. The one star reflects the ridiculous group of people (all women except for one man) that try to make their way to the front of the line. On the front door, there is a sign that clearly reads a person must be physically in line to have a spot. This obviously means no saving spots, and certainly no putting a f*****g chair out front and staking it out in your car before entering. This group of people is incredibly rude and insanely immature. The reviews on here are highly accurate; they love to verbally abuse and attack anyone who tries to argue their antics. Two people get there at 6am, place literally 30 chairs outside to try to save spots in line, then let all their friends who arrive right before opening to hop to the front. They think they are above the rules and like to argue that "physically standing in line" means physically being in your car or physically driving to the place. They are completely absurd- typical hoodlum trash that know they're in the wrong but raise their voices and gang up on you. Management is aware of these people and don't do anything. What's the point of having a rule if you don't enforce it. Honestly the managers should call the police on them. Today it was pouring rain and freezing cold and one of the women left her very very young child in her car, which was turned off, for over 30 minutes while she argued with me in line about how her chair was a logical spot for herself and all of her friends, who were not even there yet. Last time I checked it was illegal to leave a child in a car alone. Once entering the store, this same woman proceeded to wheel her son around in a small beach wagon, leaving him alone off in the distance while she shopped around. At one point I turned a corner to a large bed and almost ran right into the child. The mom of course was no where to be found. Unbelievable. This place will lose a lot of customers who probably will buy much more than this group of people and cause way less problems. If the management doesn't change the way they handle this absurd and low-level quality of people, they will eventually just shut down. I wish more people would stand up to this group. This place is great to score some deals but let the buyer beware or you will make some mistakes. Everything is final sale so you are stuck if you don't inspect merchandise properly. The staff on the floor is great and so are the loading dock guys. The only thing that drives many of the customers crazy are the Jamaican ladies that show up early and place chairs in front of the line, then leave. Then they return as a much larger group and remove the chairs 10 minutes before the doors open and allow friends to cut the line. If you say anything, they all verbally attack you. If the managers came out just once and stopped this practice, it would teach them a lesson-oh how I wish!!! read more

I went recently and I was pleased with some of the items I saw. Pricing wasn't bad but unfortunately, I did not find anything that I wanted. I mostly was there for the artwork and possible decor ideas. But if you need to furnish on a budget I would recommend coming to this place and taking a look. I was told they are only open on Fridays and they close at 3pm so you better be prepared to haul away whatever you find at that very moment. Blah. Did I come on a bad day?! Scratched and damaged furniture. Very little selection. Okay prices. Poor customer service.

Upon entering, I was ignored by the sales person who was helping what appeared to be an interior designer buying a lot of pieces and loading them into her truck. I found a piece I was interested in, waited forever to be acknowledged, and then the sales person appeared inconvenience and annoyed when I asked about delivery options (there weren't any). So, I browsed some more, and shortly after was startled when a tall guy from a distance shouted in a mean tone that the store was closed. This was my first visit and I didn't realize they were closing so early. How rude and unprofessional. I was actually looking for ideas for a client, but will never step foot in there again, nor recommend it to my clients. Great prices but I've never been in a model home where the furniture is so beat up. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Was picturing what C-Mart used to be like except only household items. They had a lot of decorative items, pictures, vases, etc. I did end of buying a king bed only because I desperately needed a king and the price was right. I settled but won't feel bad if I only use a year and replace it. They do have plastic covered mattresses which are no-name but not so cheap. This place is perfect if you furnish a rental property or you may stage houses. There is a sign on the door that says you must "physically" be in line to hold our space. When we got there people were sitting in their cars with the heat running and had a chair holding their spaces, apparently they are regular shoppers and had each others backs. Didn't seem very fair since we stood out in the freezing rain yet they came and got in line where their chairs were :-( about 25 minutes before the door opened. I can imagine on a good weather day the lines will be longer. read more

Mad rush. Most of the furniture is over priced and they take no returns. You have to figure out a way to get the purchase out of the store as they do not ship it for you. Prices are in par with stores like home goods, value city or Marshall's, where you can return stuff and things go on sale. I really don't understand why they charge so much for used furniture with damages. read more

Even though it will not change what happened I really appreciate the call. I understand that a business cannot be judged by one's actions but it can be an eye opening about what kind of people the company is hiring. read more
