Horrible nail experience. The owner, Emily, is trying to nickel and dime for any possible thing. She told me that using OPI get nail polish would be an additional $3 charge (which I have never been asked to pay the last 4 times I came here) so i asked her why and she proceeded to tell me that since they are located in a "LOW INCOME" area and have "low income customers" she needs to charge for the better brands or else I should just use another brand. With this comment she made the heads of other customers turn and we all just had a disgusted look on our face. So I picked "another brand" she painted one coat and i asked her if the color was going to be darker because I was looking for a dark red color (like the sample I had chosen from) and she said yes with 3 coats it would be darker. 3 coats later, I still had apple red on my nails. I told her I was unhappy and she said "ya, it's lighter than the sample. Sometimes they don't match" no honey, ITS SUPPOSED TO MATCH THE SAMPLE! That's the whole point of a sample. I told her i didn't like the color and she just looked at me. I told her I wanted to pick another color and she said she could just layer whatever color I wanted on top. LAZINESS TO MAX! Long story short, I go to pay and she jacks up the price $4 and I asked why and she said to take off the gel for the fill is an additional $4! WHAT A JOKE!! I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS BUSINESS! NOT ONLY DOES SHE INSULT HER CUSTOMERS BY CALLING THEM LOW INCOME SHE JACKS UP PRICES ON THEM AS WELL!! What an oxyMORON! I was a returning customer of Nina who was phenomenal. I would normally get gel mani, gel pedi, upper lip & eyebrows & my bill was about $65. After the owner "Emily" did renovations, she decided to go up on the prices. I went to get a gel mani & gel pedi & the new price came out to $65. Unaware that Emily charges $3 to take gel off my hands & $3 to take gel off my feet. You are in the hood not Beverly Hills. You will lose lots of customers because of this. $33 for a gel pedicure is ridiculous. $23 for a gel manicure is also ridiculous. Good luck & hopefully u lose more customers after this post. Slowest work ever way over priced with shittiest I've ever had in LA and I am from here.

I came in today for a pedicure. I asked the receptionist how long the wait would and she said she would let me know once I sat on the chair. She sat me down right away and said she was waiting for the manicurist who was only gonna put polish on another customer. Well the manicurist was even at the polish stage. She was still adding that customers acrylics. I waited about 20 minutes with my feet soaking, turning old and wrinkly. I decided to leave when another manicurist said to wait 5 more minutes because the manicurist who was Gould to do my nails was almost done. Well I look over and that manicurist is barely going to start painting her customers nails and she was doing gel with design! I left. Next time they should let me know the wait time so I don't have to be sitting there soaking my feet or I can at least come back at a different time. read more

I was excited to finally get my brows done after being in quarantine through out this whole pandemic. I wanted to have my brows done do to thanksgiving pictures. I came here and quickly left !!! The security guard for the whole property had sneezed on his hand . He was also not wearing a mask! He went inside I watched for minutes from my car . This place is a no go. I don't know what the general consensus is about this nail salon, but my experience there was not good. Here were my issues: -Not opened at advertised time. I was waiting outside at 10am on the dot because that's the time they said they were open. The owner and her employees didn't show up until 10:40am, 40 min past their stated opening time. I had plans that day that were set back due their tardiness. It's a poor reflection on your business guys. -Long wait times. They took 2 1/2 hours for a pedicure and nails. This isn't including the wait for them to open. That's ridiculous. If you don't mind your time being wasted then this shouldn't be a problem for you. -Nail polish selection is sorely lacking. I saw zero colors that were what you would call name brand. I know how snobby that sounds but trust me, at the end of the my pedicure I could tell the difference between that Nice Nails black and an Essie black. It LOOKED cheap. Had I known, I would have brought my own nail polish from home. -Acrylic nails were peeling off by the second week. The first week they looked nice. I was getting compliments from people. But by week two, the corners were lifting and gunk was getting in there. Gross. I ended up having them for less than three weeks due to their premature demise. Not what you want to see on a $40 nail job. -The man who applied my acrylics grinded my nails down to the nerve while he was fitting the nails. There was a dent in my nails from where he had taken the machine to file my nails down near the nail bed. It was so bad that it took 3 months to fully grow my nails back. And it hurt like a mo'fo. All in all just skip this place. Prices are average, customer service is passable, but there are just too many negatives to ignore. Run, take your money as far away as possible from here and run. read more

Emily did my eyebrows..I told her I want it to have edges at the end and be thick! She made my eyebrows round and narrow! Obviously when you say edge, it doesn't come along with round!! Like the circle which cannot have any edge cause it's "round"!!! The problem is my eyebrow doesn't grow back enough and I don't know what I should do now!!!! I'm so frustrated!!! I went to Model Nails today and it was my second visit. I had heard awesome things from a friend of mine and checked it out back in May. I went back today because the prices are unbeatable! Emily gave me my mani-pedi and I loved everything she did. I had called ahead of time asking if they were busy and they said to come on over, so when I got there they remembered that I had called and started on me right away. NOTE: If you don't have an appointment, don't be dumb and just show up and expect to be seen immediately - that's unrealistic. I loved the attention to detail Emily had. Although they were under-staffed today and a large group without a reservation came in to the salon just as my manicure was starting, she didn't rush through it; really took her time. When it came to the pedicure, she was great! She really engages you in conversation and she had found out I am turning 21 in two days, and said she wanted to give me a little birthday treat and gave me some fun nail art (that I didn't have to pay extra for!). CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS BAD!!! Went here for my regular gel mani and a Delux pedi around 6pm. Have to say both ladies working on my nails kept hurting me, I would tell them it hurt and they kept talking in there language every time I said something. Fine I let it go. I felt like they kept doing it fast and ruff to finish quick. Now if you see on Yelp you get a check in and get free brow wax of you spend 35 or more. I spent $60 on my nails and feet and to top it all off the owner did not want to take my coupon for checking in! I was so upset I couldn't believe it. She said it was for first time customers but I had never done my eyebrows with her and it was my first time there. And she said she didn't have time. So I asked if I pay for them could she do them and she said yes I don't recommend this place. I came here for lady's night out. Nail shop is cliche, but what the heck-- it beats staying at home on a Saturday night. It was me & my previous boss. Place was pretty busy. They only do walk-ins. The lady who did my manicure I was afraid she was going to make me bleed so I asked her to not cut the bottom of my cuticles. Good call. She almost freaking cut me. This is my third time going to model nails and Im completely in love with their service. Brian did my gel manicure the first time I was there, they lasted up to 3 weeks with no chipping or breakage. I was really impressed with how much they lasted. The second time I was there he did my gel pedicure and gel manicure and lasted more than a month of course my nails were grown out but still in great condition. When Emily tells you she is the best eyebrow waxer, believe her! She is the only person I trust waxing my eyebrows, she never leaves them too thin. On top of that, she is really nice. As for nails, my favorite is Kevin, especially for acrylics or designs. I would have given this place five stars if the receptionist was nice.
