kind of a long wait time but the cut (mid bald fade, kept length at the top, just asked for it to be texturized) was really good. David cut my hair, and he's quick yet doesn't rush the cut. Modern Barber is probably the best place for a haircut in the valley. With a handful of skilled barbers, and each are experienced in their craft. I highly recommend getting your hair cut from David. He's been my barber for a few years now, and I always leave with an excellent cut. With Friday and Saturday mornings being their busiest hours, Thursday at around 10-11 would be a great time to go. Let me start off by saying how well maintained and nice this barber shop looks.. my son gets his cut done by Jose who is amazing with him. He interacts with my son making him comfortable and leaves him looking like a million bucks! When i was there last I also noticed how Andrew was doing the same with another young boy. As a mom you want your kids to feel comfortable every where you take them. I can honestly say as modern as this shop is it is still a very professional place of business. We stop taking my son to a shop because of the lack of professionalism and hood like environment. So glad the hubs found this barbershop!!! Now I'm here Tuesday through Saturday. They open at 9:30 am which is so convenient for me and my wild schedule. They have top notch barbers . This state of the art facility offers a modern approach to 1920s barbering. From custom seating to personally tailored haircut this is my go to place for an escape from reality. Needless to say I feel like the king I am when I walk in the doors . The have a master list which you sign in and if you have a specific Barber you can choose to wait for them, or go with next available. This place never ceases to amaze me. Music will vary from anywhere from Tom petty to Kodak black talk about range am I right. This is a gold mine hidden to the valley . Must I go on I'm in love with this establishment. I've been following him from shop to shop and after seeing the past others, Modern Barber Room is by far the nicest, the style, and environment is a place to go because play good music and has TV for sporting events. Horrible experience here. My first time coming here to take my son for a haircut, I sign up and ask the guy at the front of the reception his nickname is Swavey I don't know but his name is Bryan and I asked him "how long is the wait?" The list was like half the page, like 10 people were ahead of me. He said "half an hour" I said "ok, I'll be back." I went just to meet with my husband like literally 1 seconds at the door when I told him "it's half an hour, should we wait?" And he said "yes, we will wait. He doesn't have a lot of hair to keep others waiting for their cut." We sat down when my husband said "They have a sign of CASH ONLY, do you have cash?" I told him wth, what place doesn't have a debit card. Ok well there is 10 people ahead, let's go get cash and by that time we get back they'll probably did like 4 customers and will still have to wait that's fine. I mean he did say half an hour. I got there at 10:22 am returned around 10:35am. sat down waiting and waiting than it was 11:22 am and I said if I am not called by 11:30 am I am leaving. I saw new people just sign up and right away got called up that's when I told my husband " ok I am not going to keep waiting here, I am go see where's my name is and I am cross it off and let's go because it's already 11:45 am." Went up and they had crossed my name out and didn't have the courtesy to say "Brenda since you left and you were called you need to sign in again." I would've signed in again I just need my 1 year old to get a cut nothing more than that, it would honestly take 9 min. for that. But no they had me waiting with no words to be said they just kept calling new walk-ins. They're rude they don't have good customer service skills. They honestly were going to let me wait half of the day just because I stepped out to go get cash because the wait was half an hour? Doesn't make sense first and last time coming here!! I went to another barber across the street where I live did the job in 9 min. and didn't have to wait half an hour, just got their and boom was right out. I wouldn't recommend if it's your first time looking for a friendly barber for your toddlers they suck. It's called communication why say half an hour and I step out to get cash and not be told "Hey you've been crossed out" people are waiting to get their hair cut and most of them had long hair it's obviously going to take a while for my son to be next. But that's fine, lesson learn. Good luck with your business, honestly with that service and attitude will not take your business far. On instagram they look all friendly and stuff but when you walk in they look like they hate their life's. Thanks for the experience, I hope no mother has to go through that ever again.
