Well, finally opened the pool this year & guess what? The patio is cracked & sinking right where these guys drove in 2 extra well points. For no reason! used! well, they asked me to write a review after they just initially installed our pool so i obligued as i dont often write reviews. yet, i feel compelled to wite "another" review: buyer beware....buyer beware...as once they install your pool....this company will be done with you and treat you like a leper. leave you out to dry and when you call them for "anything" big or small, they will treat you as the distraction you are with an umbelievable terrible attitude like you are completly wasting their time with zero help/value added as again, once they collect...they want to be done with you. i guess being in this business so long, the patience runs out and y as that is exactly how they make us feel whenever we "had" to call them after our pool was installed-terrible attitude like we are "bothering" them wiht little to no help at all. cringed every time we had to call them as we knew they would just rush us off the phone as fast as possible, if they even picked up the phone and/or returned you call in the first place. they will use you and throw you away unfortunatley, so pray you never have to call them for "one" single thing after they cash the last and final check and of course, you will have to, we had to as that is just business, espeically with pools. the latest, we believed we had a leak in our 2 year old pool, so we were scheduled for a service, said no charge. the night before (after scheduled for a week) they have one of their employees call and say, "sorry, but will be 600" to just look and when i asked to speak to bruce or ginger or have them call me back......yeah right....like that would happen as again, when we do have to call, we are treated like we are "bothering them" and we are just a distraction to them compared to the only thing they care about.... the new pools going in, so pray nothing ever happens....and you need "nothing" from them......ever...from them again...as once they are "done" with you and your pool...they treat you like they are done and consumers should know and be aware as their treatment is so disappointing. i guess once they ask you to do a review, they will drop you like a bad habit.....frustrating and disappointing.... read more

I rarely write reviews so take this one seriously. I am thoroughly impressed with the work ethic, honesty, integrity and professionalism I have found at modern comfort pools. Last year I was referred to them after having had trouble with prior pool companies and a belief that I was really "ripped off." From start to finish they took care of the pool needs and walked me through learning how to care for this pool myself and with ease. They just opened my pool and if I can upload a picture it is not even a day old. Never did the pool look this clear after a day. In addition my salt cell had an issue and Bob happily called this a.m. saying the part was there (in COVID times a miracle) and he would be by Monday to install (it's Friday). Prompt service is an understatement. Bruce and Ginger and Bob taught me everything. Even though I may have called a bit much they never ignored my requests and they made me feel far less than the "stupid" I was feeling through the learning process. They and the company are highly recommended in a world where I am questioning the business ethic of many. read more

Had an inground pool liner replaced by them two weeks ago. Workmanship was horrible. They used the wrong screws, left dangerous debris around the yard and did not clean up. I'd like to preface this by saying that this is my first ever review on Yelp. I feel passionately enough about my experience with Modern Comfort thus far that I feel compelled to write it. As of now, my experience with this company has been nothing but a lie. Everything that we have been told by Bruce has been the exact opposite of what has happened. Here's my current list of lies: 1. Pool will be installed in one day 2. Pool will be in stock within one week 3. Pool will be started tomorrow 4. Pool will be finished tomorrow 5. All of the parts are there. I double checked everything myself. 6. Pool will be started tomorrow (again) 7. The missing part is in the warehouse. 8. Pool will be started tomorrow.... 9. I couldn't call you back. I was in the field. (Bruce has never showed up at my house while "in the field") 10. I have the best prices because of x,y,z As of today, July 7, our pool "will be started tomorrow." I'm not holding my breath. The giant hole in my backyard looks like it's going to be a permanent fixture. If we were being told the truth regarding our status with everything, this review would be highly different or wouldn't even exist at all and I'd still have no experience with Yelp. Modern Comfort pools did not finish my pool. They took all of my money and did not come back to finish the agreed upon contract. In addition to this, Bruce Lang never gave the additional 5% discount for making the payment to him in cash for 04/11/13 for $15,000 - this company is fraudulent - don't trust them. This is what they never finished: -redo the spillway -fix the auto fill banging noise -connect the filter to the dry well -install the 4 deck jets caps -drill a whole into the auto fill -alarm doesn't work properly -clean up with the white stains around the spa/patio - alarm doesn't work properly I am looking for a refund for the following $750 - 5% discount as agreed upon for the $15,000 cash payment for 04/11/13 $2,500-re do the spillway $200-fix the auto fill banging noise $200-connect the filter to the dry well $500-install the 4 deck jets caps $100-drill a whole into the auto fill $250-alarm doesn't work properly $250-clean up with the white stuff around the spa/patio Total Refund requested -$4,750 - if I don't get the refund I will have no other option but to complain to other authorities (attorney general, state license board, consumer affairs etc.), take modern comfort pool to court and post negative reviews on the web read more

These guys are great. Spoke to Bruce about getting another pool liner and the service was outstanding. On time, reasonable pricing and fantastic clean up. They even took the old pool liner with them rather than leave it at the curb. Bruce was very accommodating to get the work done before the 4th of July Weekend. Update: Bruce the owner contacted me directly and was completely unaware of our specific issue. He told me that he had received numerous complaints about the scheduler who hung up on us when we called trying to get our issue resolved, and told me he had been fired a few weeks ago. I give him huge credit for addressing his personnel issue, and even more credit for contacting me and offering to make things right. I'll definitely give them a second chance, and wanted to be sure to update everyone on the latest and adjust his rating. I'll let you know how the fall closing and new cover installation go. Thanks Bruce. Never ever use this company. They don't show up when they say they will, don't finish the job, and you're stuck having to do it yourself or get another company to help you. And to think I almost recommended them to two of my friends that want to convert to salt water, and was going to use them for my new looploc cover. Never now! Last year they closed my pool. When they opened the pool it was full of slime on the bottom and I was told it happens. I found out from a man that left modern comfort that they used the wrong shock when they closed pools and the knew it but used it anyway. I had to pay extra to have my pool power vacuumed. This year I called about a problem with my salt water system I'm waiting 5 days for a return call. They are good at taking your money and that's all. They lie right to your face. We used modern comfort to replace my pool liner on my semi inground pool. I called bruce, who was very nice on the phone and told him that he should come out to check my pool out and tell me which direction i should go. The wall was pushed in about 6" near the bottom of the pool. He tells me there is no need for him to come to my house because that wall thats pushed in is a result of water getting behind my old liner and washing the sand away and that it would all be fixed with a new liner. So i order a 48" liner with a pattern. The installers come to do the job and i get a call from bruces son mike "the installer" saying that they can not do the job because the wall must be repaired before installing the new liner. It will be an additional 800.00 to dig up the ground and repair the wall along with them ripping the deck up for which i am responsible for putting back. I tell him that this i why i specifically requested that somebody come out and tell me what i am dealing with. He tells me he agrees with me and that he will have a talk with his father about this. OK. So the day they are scheduled to come repair the wall, no show and no call. I called him multiple times and no answer. Then during a family bbque the next weekend a crew shows up to do half the job. They ripped the deck up and dug a hole and left saying mike will be coming this week to finish it up. I get a call from mike the next day saying i am going to need a WHOLE NEW POOL at the cost of 8 or 9 grand along with ripping up the remainder of my deck. He says the wall is too damaged to do the liner. I am dumbfounded at this point. So my wife and i are contemplating my next move and i get another call from mike, this time he tells me i already paid for a new liner and he will come instal it and try and repair the wall. Well what do i have to lose at this point. He comes and installs the new liner and repairs the wall. We agreed on 800.00 additonal to repair the wall and he tries getting another 200.00 out of me because it was more "work" then he anticipated. I declined. So now the new liner is in and the pattern we chose is on the OUTSIDE of the pool. They ordered me a liner for a 54" pool! So the extra money i paid for the pattern of my choice went out the window. Mike tells me i should call bruce and take it up with him. At this point i just gave up and said just fill the pool up. They filled the pool up 1ft and said they would be back after the liner stretched so they could install my pool light. They came back and did the light but never filled the dirt back in next to the pool where they dug it out and repaired the wall. I just did it myself. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
