Dao is amazing! I was drawn here out of curiosity about Bio Sculpture gel, which is a gel mani that doesn't wreck your nails when you take it off. My first Bio Sculpture mani lasted over 5 weeks, and my nails were much less fragile when I removed the color than they ever have been after removing dips, regular gels, or acrylics. A clean and cozy gem tucked away on a side street in Hayward! I love that this salon does NOT offer acrylics. The fumes in other salons were sometimes unbearable and triggered asthma attacks in me. This salon doesn't have this issue. It is clean, airy, and modern. OBSESSED with this place! I've been here a couple times now and I've walked out completely content with my nails and the overall experience. I was helped by MJ both times and I love her work and her personality. The first time I went I got my nails shaped round and the polish was a very soft and sheer pink called 'angela' and the most recent time I went and got almond shape with the nail polish 'Samoan sand' and regular white polish to create a marble look. I've attached photos of the second look. Seriously, it warms my heart to have found a place that has people that CARE so much and pay so much attention to detail. Well, this is gonna suck... I used to come here religiously for a gel mani and pedi. MJ was my favorite, but she left earlier this year. I've been back a few times, but I'm no longer a fan. I'm not an unforgiving person. In fact, my first visit was almost a flop because they cancelled my appointment without my knowledge. Apparently, they had the wrong phone number for me, so I never got the message that my appointment was cancelled. I took it as an honest mistake and went back an hour later (I just sat in the car)... Fast forward about a year... I had an appointment early in the morning with Lynda/Linda (?). When I arrived on time, I was told she was late but on her way. After 20 minutes, I was told she was pulling up the street. Unfortunately, it was the wrong car. So after 50-55 minutes of waiting, I finally left. I don't know where she lives, why it took her so long to make the appointment, or whether she ended up arriving at all but I was pissed. It was completely unprofessional and a complete disregard for my time. If any customer had been that late, they would NOT have honored the appointment (especially because their services take TIME). So I'm not sure if she just didn't wanna show after all that time, so the rest of her appointments wouldn't be late, but I would've appreciated more honesty. Dao, who I assume is the owner, said she'd squeeze me in the following Saturday at 8am. Fine. I got a call the day before to push the appointment back an hour so I "wouldn't have to wake up so early". Well, I'm not sure what happened but my nail technician was no longer Dao (and Dao was nowhere to be seen). AND I don't know if there was some miscommunication but I was only scheduled for a gel pedi. I either got a $5 or 5% discount, which I realize is a pretty big difference considering their gel mani costs ~$50, but I couldn't care less anymore (even if they didn't offer anything). In general, they're more expensive than an average trip to the nail salon, but they use a lot of product and most of them are pretty detailed, except my last technician. Also, their gel mani is the ONLY mani that lasts me an entire month and I'm constantly using my hands. If you have a whole day to waste and you're interested in trying this out, here are my suggestions: - Call and book at least a month in advance. - If you don't receive an appointment confirmation or text reminder, call back to confirm. - Try and wear sandals that have a back strap. They're located on somewhat of a hill and after they buff/moisturize your feet, your sandals could get slippery and you have to be more careful walking to your car. read more

My new, go to nail spot. Granted, it's smaller and a little pricier that your typical nail salon but this place is far from typical. The first tip off, even though it's cozy inside you don't get even a hint if that nasty, strong nail salon, chemical smell. It's extremely clean and well kept inside. I've been addicted to gel manis for a while now but I've noticed Opi and Gelish were weakening my nails and the repeated use of UV / LED lights was making my hands dark. My Nail Boutique has an answer for both of these problems! My first visit, I tried Evo, which is a breathable gel. I was a little skeptical and thought it was just an overpriced gel but once I tried it I could definitely notice a difference. My mani looked just as good at 3 weeks as it did when I first got it done. I picked white, which turned out to be a finicky color that kept pulling as she painted it on, but Stephanie went above and beyond to make sure my nails came out right. Her attention to detail was really impressive and probably another reason my mani lasted as long as it did. When it was time for a 2nd visit, I picked Evo again, this time with Lynda. I was so amazed with how healthy my nails still looked after she took off the gel. No chipping or thinning and my cleaned nails looked like I never had gel on at all. Lynda also did a great job on my mani and my nails turned out perfect. On top of that, I was late because I had my appointment time wrong yet she stayed professional with me, didn't rush me and even reassured me when I kept apologizing for my mistake. Both visits they've had to repair a chipped nail. I figured they would use glue, like what I've had at most other places, yet the stuff they use (some kind of tape + biosculpt gel) kept my chipped nail on for over a month! As far as my darkening hands dilemma, they've solved for this by having these special gloves you can wear while having your hands under the LEDs. You just have to ask for them beforehand. Really gave me peace of mind and my hands were way less tan than usual after my mani thanks to those bad boys! read more
